  1. Thanks, guys, and I see what you mean Stubdog and I think I;ll give it a try. John Lee
  2. Thanks guys, and VV I was proud of the hair too, but in reality all that I really did was drybrush it. John Lee
  3. Doombringer, I just got your "assemilated" reference. I love Star Trek and the Borg encounters are some of my favorite episodes. I think I may have left an "e" off the end, maybe its Borge. I'll get one of my old Casket Works out and post his real name onceand for all. John Lee
  4. Thanks guys, this is really the first time I tried to do gems so I glad you like them. The birch seed I ordered from Fantization.com, about five bucks, more than I will use in a life time, need some? PM me and I'll send you some. Thanks Again, John Lee
  5. Thanks, everybody, don't know what happened to the links the first time. Made them the exact same way the second time and they worked. First time I've used photobucket, so must've been something I did. John
  6. I painted this one up last year (again). She was really tough, some of the parts didn't fit well and she had a really bad mold line across her face. I managed, but for the cost of the mini I really expected more. As always, let me know what you think. Here are the links ( warning, nudity): http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...llet/chaos9.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...llet/chaos8.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...llet/chaos7.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...llet/chaos6.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...llet/chaos5.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...llet/chaos4.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...llet/chaos2.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...llet/chaos1.jpg John Lee
  7. Looks cool Froggy, you resourcefulness always amazes me. The only thing that I would add would be a strap over her shoulder, the way she is holding it now looks odd. John Lee
  8. Well, I haven't gotten my web site, MellowMullet.com, up and running yet and I haven't checked into photobucket or one of those type sites out that I've seen others use. Which do you think is best? John Lee
  9. Just realized that I can't post the front shot because she is bare chested. Anyway what do ya'll think of the wings? Here's a link for the front view, caution contains nudity: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/me...et/DSC03591.jpg
  10. The reds look better in person, painted this one up first of last year, while posting it I noticed that the quiver had broken off. I'll repost as soon as I can find it and my 5 min epoxy.
  11. This is the first Fiana I have finished. I have many that are in various stages of completion, got them after seeing them painted up and in the tutorials on Jennifer Haley's ( did I mention that I'm a HUGE Haley fan) web site. Now if I could just paint them as well as she can. I know the eyes look kinda funky on this one, will probably go back and redo them.......one day.
  12. Just a quick (very quick) paint job on this one. I bought it during the initial Moniqe craze after seeing Jennifer Haley's paint job on her. When I got her I realized that Jennifer must have some kind of magical powers, because I couldn't get mine to look anywhere near hers. After a couple of Benzyl Alcohol baths, here we are, just a quick job to call it done.
  13. This was an Ebay purchase and I didn't really realize how small she and the dragon were. The reds look better in hand and I didn't realize that her masquera (sp) had ran until I took the picture, a little touch up is in order.
  14. I put a lot of time in on this one, and I really like how she turned out. As with most Werner sculpts, they look like and easy paint until you get into it.
  15. Sorry guys, I painted these throughout the year last year and the packaging is long gone so I don't have the stock numbers on hand and I'm too lazy to look them up ( just being honest). Sorry about the blurry rear shot, the blends looked really good IMHO.
  16. At least I think this guy's name is Borg. I bought him a long time ago and he may even now be OOP. Just a quick paint and a first for me on the snow base. I have a whole large container of Hudson Allen snow stuff, but it is packed up somewhere ( again moving s##) so I used the baking soda/white glue recipe. It actually looked pretty good after I applied the slurry of soda and glue but then I put some dry soda on top of it and it really caked up and I had too much snow. I think I'll do better next time. Oh yeah, thanks in advance for any comments, critisims, etc.,etc. Here he is:
  17. Well, I was gonna wait until I got my hobby area done in my shop so I could set up a photo booth ( moving sux ), but I couldn't stand it any longer. While in a discount store tonight I came upon some of those clip on reflector lights for $1.50 and I just couldn't help myself. I threw together a make shift photo booth on the kitchen counter and well here they are. I put a fair amount of time into this one, but it is not anywhere as nice a Meg's, but let me know what you guys think. I have really thick skin so don't worry about hurt feelings, I WANT to improve. I have another copy of this one, so when Fantization finally decides to send me the third one in the series I'm gonna paint her again. Oh yeah, I know the base is weak, I didn't know how I was going to use her at the time. Here she is:
  18. Dang it!! I meant to say "They look great, Tank". Stupid fingers and thumbs. John Lee
  19. Those gems look Tank. I've always had trouble with those. Seeing you paint one of these up makes me wantto give it a whirl. John Lee
  20. The photo looks a little dark, but form what i can tell she looks good. John Lee
  21. Good to see you back painting again John. The only thing I see that I would do differently would probably work on the hair, it's just too yellow for me but that's just me, it really looks OK. John Lee
  22. The second one really looks good Meg. It may not be that you need a new camera, just a better understanding of what to do with the picture after you take it. I have the same problem with my camera. I even bought a new one, and my photos still suck . But after playing around with the software I can sometimes ( usually with a lot of luck) I can get them to look OK. Still looking for that magic bullet though. As for the mini, she looks great, I have to agree with LC the NMM could be a little more sharper, but after your explanation that you intended it to look worn or battle torn, it works for me. Now if I could just get mine to look that good...... John Lee
  23. Looks great Meg, the hair looks great either way,and from the picture, toning up and/or getting in shape is unnecessary. Nice what you did with the locks. My daughters (7 and 8 years old) both had really long hair and we donated it to the same program. John Lee
  24. The pictures are a little blurry, but from what I can see, it looks really good. You have improved by leaps and bounds since your first post. Where do you find time to do all of this painting? You seem to get four or five painted a month, I'm lucky if I can get one done. John lee
