    ReaperCon 2012

A one hour connection at IAH could be particularly tight if you are going from a "normal" United flight serviced by a 737 or Airbus jet to a commuter flight (Embraer 145 or CRJ type) because the commuter type flights are serviced at another terminal (B for commuter, C & E for non commuter). Even between non commuter flights, an hour at IAH might be tight: IAH is a large airport. Between two commuter type jets is probably okay (since they should all be at Terminal B). That's what I figured. I dug up a terminal map, and IAH looks pretty spread out. It's surprising that so many of the flights that turn up are set up to have such short layovers in major airports (some as low as 40 minutes!) It might be worth paying a little more to get a direct flight on jetBlue. Thanks for your help!

Maybe you experienced con-goers among you can help me out: I'm trying to book my flights this week (BOS->DFW), but I have no experience with the texas airports. Can I get some tips? Can anybody tell me what to expect out of Houston (IAH)? There are some reasonable flights available through there, but I'd have to rely on getting from flight to flight in an hour or less - something I try to avoid at O'Hare, but which I might chance at a smaller/less busy airport. Similarly, some of the cheapest flights go to Love Field, instead of DFW. Is there any reason to avoid the smaller airport? Thanks for the help!
  3. That's a pretty cool idea. I've tried to do that a few times (with mixed results), but i would love to get some advice from the experts. If no one ends up giving one as part of the official classes I'd be happy to do an impromptu one. That would be great! I'll have to see if I can dig up a slightly mis-cast mini to bring along for practice.

    ReaperCon 2012

Made my hotel reservation yesterday. Now all I have to do is book a flight and wait for registration to open up. I'm looking forward to the trip! Thanks to everybody posting helpful tips to first timers in this thread!

    ReaperCon 2012

I'm hoping to try out ReaperCon for the first time this year. I had a great time at the few of the Reaper-based painting / sculpting I've managed to squeeze in between other events at Gencon over the last few years. If I can find the time and money, I'd like to visit the source! It sounds like all I can do for now is book travel and hotel for May, and wait for registration to open up. Is that correct?
