What are people planning on painting this month? My goals for the month are: Paint a game token from Marvel United continue working on Mithril miniatures for the quarter Paint two figures from the annual box. Paint one more viking buckyball Hobby goals for 2023 Painting one large terrain piece each quarter or several smaller pieces. The goal here is to complete enough, to use in a game or scenario [Check!] Painting the 17 miniatures in my annual box [ 12 so far] Painting one game token each month [ 9 so far ] Painting three Mithril miniatures each quarter. This works out to an average of one per month; but this way I can paint them in batches [ 8 so far] I also have the unusual goal of not buying any miniatures (for myself) in 2023. I have no idea how I will accomplish this. [Update: I went to Reapercon and bought a bunch of miniatures]

I have a question about the Box of Goodwill for the people who participate; what do you hope to find when the box comes to you? What do you look forward to finding? For me it is two things. First really old metal minis especially Mithril or Minifigs that can go in my collection. Secondly I often go for miniatures from recent kickstarters that I didn't back, but was tempted by. Often with these, the backers' reward is a large group of minis, some I might want and many I don't. I pass on these more often than not because I really don't need large numbers of miniatures I probably wont paint, just to get a few I will. So for me, being able to get these second chance minis is a big plus for the Box of Goodwill. What about you guys? buckyball

I have made some more conversions for the game Rangers of Shadow Deep. I also have an unpainted astrolabe. How did you get it to stay standing up? Mine keeps bending and leaning over buckyball

This is kind of cool. I needed an evil wizard for the game Rangers of Shadow Deep. The 'bad guys' in that game wear skull masks. So I wanted the wizard to have one. So instead of painting a regular wizard and giving him a mask, I started with a lich and painted him to be human. I also fell short. My trouble was that I spent too much time getting ready for bubonicon and Reapercon, and that cut into my painting. It was worth it though since gaming at both conventions was exceptional buckyball

Here are some conversions I am working on. They are supposed to be creatures called humpbacks which are kind of a cross between a camel and an ogre. I think this is in limbo. The Reapercon website still has Metal Trade listed under the Events tab. If it is cancelled they should stop advertising it. I would be interested in a metal exchange amongst attendees; but who will run it? buckyball

I have also found that I am switching things up. As summer conventions get closer I am more focused on group painting figures I need for the games I am running. Painting time is becoming more of a luxury buckyball

Would anyone be interested in playing the role playing game Rivers of London? It is by Chaosium and uses a variant of the BRP system. I am hesitant to add it because I tried to run a Call of Cthulhu game at Reapercon several years ago and I didn't get any players. The Rivers of London books are really good by the way. But hardly anyone reads them buckyball
