I am working on painting up the rest of my Mars Attacks martians. I managed to paint just enough of them to play the game. But I didn't enjoy the game. So they have been sitting in a box for years now.

I didn't do that well last month. So this month I need to concentrate on painting miniatures in my annual box and getting caught up with Mithril minis
What are people planning on painting this month?
My goals for the month are:
- Paint a game token from Marvel United
- continue working on Mithril miniatures for the quarter
- Paint half the remaining figures from the annual box.
- Paint the last viking from the set I was given back in Spring
- Paint a terrain piece for Rangers of Shadow Deep

Hobby goals for 2023
Painting one large terrain piece each quarter or several smaller pieces. The goal here is to complete enough, to use in a game or scenario [Check!]
Painting the 17 miniatures in my annual box [ 15 so far]
Painting one game token each month [ 11 so far ]
Painting three Mithril miniatures each quarter. This works out to an average of one per month; but this way I can paint them in batches [ 9 so far]
I also have the unusual goal of not buying any miniatures (for myself) in 2023. I have no idea how I will accomplish this. [Update: I went to Reapercon and bought a bunch of miniatures]

I have a question about the Box of Goodwill for the people who participate; what do you hope to find when the box comes to you? What do you look forward to finding? For me it is two things. First really old metal minis especially Mithril or Minifigs that can go in my collection. Secondly I often go for miniatures from recent kickstarters that I didn't back, but was tempted by. Often with these, the backers' reward is a large group of minis, some I might want and many I don't. I pass on these more often than not because I really don't need large numbers of miniatures I probably wont paint, just to get a few I will. So for me, being able to get these second chance minis is a big plus for the Box of Goodwill.
What about you guys?

I have made some more conversions for the game Rangers of Shadow Deep. These started as Merrow creatures and I converted them into Humpbacks for the expansion Dungeons Dark

This is kind of cool. I needed an evil wizard for the game Rangers of Shadow Deep. The 'bad guys' in that game wear skull masks. So I wanted the wizard to have one.
So instead of painting a regular wizard and giving him a mask, I started with a lich and painted him to be human. I also had to use some filler putty to hide his ribcage.

I also fell short. My trouble was that I spent too much time getting ready for bubonicon and Reapercon, and that cut into my painting.
It was worth it though since gaming at both conventions was exceptional

Here are some conversions I am working on. They are supposed to be creatures called humpbacks which are kind of a cross between a camel and an ogre. I am waiting on skull helmets to complete them.

I needed a second humpback for the game Rangers of Shadow Deep. Humpbacks are mutant camel people that are the size of ogres
Here is a picture of the conversion next to the original Humpback figure from Northstar miniatures
I would have done more. But I ran out of greenstuff
