Randomness XV: 'tis a silly place.

Unlike GEM I have only seen the kind meant for pencils. Found this where other people were discussing the problem: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=603050 They were considering bigger brushes ... Bob Ross scale let’s say. But I saw potentially two useful ideas. 1) Tennis racket handle wraps. 2) Repurposing a sportsball: Notes 1) The Great River has many different kinds and colors of tennis racket tape, tennis racket grip tape, etc. One roll would do a whole collection of brushes for meant for minis I’m thinking. (This is not far from the @Gadgetman! Idea, but with tape made to be gripped instead of nasty ole duct tape. ) Notes 2) Some smaller type of ball for a smaller brush perhaps. Are racquet balls hollow? 3) Maddak dot Com. They have ^ several different grip enhancing product lines. (I think those are brushes next to the fork.)

  3. I fell down on the job of posting things, for sure. Digging back through the camera roll...I find this, which I don’t think I ever posted. A second batch, left to right: unknown metal warrior, Mr. Bones, two armored-up Sci-Fi dudes, a Plastic CAV, some ball bearings from the paint-shaker jar, Skeleton guy with a bendy spear, and.....lizard headed chaos warrior? That is Argent’s legs in the background for scale. Also a Reaper plastic cup. I needed a better background.
  4. Go for it. Schloss Wibblen-Wobblen is happy to serve.
  5. No kidding. It is like some wyrde magic.
  6. I have been remiss on this. Made a good start... and then I became a nightshifted vampire for awhile ...bizarre hours. Arrrghh. It was. But, It left orbit today, warped out of the system, zapped thru a trans-warp conduit and by now is in standard orbit around Cygnwulf III. I had a go at leaving a little sketch in the booklet... (which booklet I almost forgot to drop in! ) ...and testing out my banged up wrist in the process. It wasn’t very good. This Griffin’s right wing has some battle damage. A wibbly-wobbly castle ^ drawn by a wibbly-wobbly wing, with a smudgy-wudgy pen. (I held out higher hopes for that Pilot G2. Alas.)

Redbubble put up some resistance but I got there in the end... Right: so the effect of giving it those tags is that it displays a little generic, mostly grey, icon with a Rebbubble logo and an [oak?] leaf. Labeled with the words “mature content”. It does that, instead of a thumbnail of the art, if it decides there is a tiny chance the visitor on the other side of the screen might be a kid.

Found this: https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/skillet-chocolate-chip-cookie/ Americas Test Kitchen has a recipe also. From season 9 but sadly behind their members wall. I tend to trust them because of the way they get into the science / chemistry Involved in cooking. They give the impression they know what they’re doing or have figured a few things out anyway. I’ve never seen this done. But if you could find chocolate pirate coins, and lay them out unwrapped on top like pepperoni slices that’d be kinda cool.

Oh. (I was reading backwards through the thread, and didn't have context from TGP's post until reaching the previous page....) I do that as well. Start on the final page. Then tap the back to quoted post arrows until I find where I left off.

@Pingo how big are these things? They are artful photos. Is it too much for me to wish for artful and a tape measure in the shot? I guess it is. I dunno, in this thread, or the next one like it, one can posit hypotheses involving time/traveling muppets. @Pingo might those things be loom weights? The ones with the holes in them inspired the thought. I won’t call it a Theory because IANAWCA. (I Am Not A World Class Archaeologist)

    BattleSystems - Fantasy Terrain 2

Maybe somebody that is following this thread knows the answer to this: What is the history / ins and outs of the use of Battlesystem as a brand and trademark in the tabletop gaming field? I’m not fussed/upset about it; just genuinely curious.

Spoilers Doc! Spoilers... Don't you just hate it when somebody ruins a 25 year old show for you. I don’t remember what season that quote was from... ...so maybe @redambrosia is past that one. I saw the show years ago. So I’m not fussed about it for myself. One of my favorite mashup, crossover character names is Garribaldrick. I think it was From Black Bladderlon V

I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but: Streaming has undoubtedly brought in new viewers, and maybe sparked the recent spate of references, but the show dates from the mid-90's. Red confirmed this a few posts later...she is in season 2 at last report...so no spoilers ! My devices will do Cherokee. But I don’t think the Forum will display it. [cherokee] ᏯᏝᏓᏌᏆᎾᏔᎷᎣᎦ ᎥᎣᎳᏔ [/cherokee] Not seeing a cunieiform option. Spoilers Doc! Spoilers...

As long as we are making stuff up... A Gold Griffin. Same powers as a gold dragon, less food needed, but flying, shapeshifting, long-lived, magical...this way I might live long enough to paint most of my Miniatures. If it’s gotta be something that is real, and is not extinct, a Red Panda. Everyone likes red pandas.

Did you see the one about Apollo 8? Speaking of making computers go kaflooey... One of the programmers on Apollo 8 let her daughter “play astronaut” on a DSKY navigation computer in her office. The kid found a way to make it go Poof! Together they figured out the sequence of key commands. (It was P zero one.) The programmer warned everybody that would listen that this could be a problem. They decided these astronauts are PROs, former test pilots, they just won’t hit those keys... Flying back from the moon, I think it was Lovell who crashed the Nav computer by unintentionally hitting P zero one.
