  1. Finally sealed my Ma'al and got some good pictures in the light box. though I might need to take some more as the white head gets washed out in a few photos. More photos and close-ups of the heads can be found on my flickr page - https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/ I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed finally getting around to painting it after all this time. And last but not least photo with the full base:
  2. All done, now to finish all the details and seal. Almost time for the Show Off thread.
  3. haha, well I've been sitting on mine for awhile too so don't feel too bad! More progress, placing the base coat on the wings and underbelly.
  4. Stayed up way too late last night working on it. time for a break.
  5. Finally getting back in the game of painting and after finishing a PC for my current group I decided I just had to start working on Ma'al. Here is the progress so far. Blocking out the base color to start thinking. Goodbye Olive Green bottle, you had just enough to get through this. You can also see the back of the PC mini I painted for my group for scale. Last work tonight was putting the base on two other heads to start ordering the colors around after highlighting up on the olive green section.
  6. I finally did it. After 3 years of telling myself this summer I will get to Kaladrax, I finally did, during the snow day this week. Here it is
  7. Might as well revive this thread with the Manticore and Sphinx. The sphinx was inspired by Pochi's awesome job since credit is due for the inspiration. I apologize for the awful picture of the Sphinx back, no matter how hard I struggled with the camera it just wouldn't behave.
  8. Since my group is traveling through Middle Earth between the time of the hobbit and lord of the rings, our last mission was to escort an elven lady to take the boat over the sea. I painted the bones Ostarzha Elf Cleric for Irime, and tried my best to paint the sigil of Fingon/Gilgalad as she was a member of that high elven family.
  9. Pochi I love your Sphinx, you inspired me to paint mine this weekend. And you gave me some great ideas for what to do with it.
  10. Shhh, don't tell my gaming group but I painted Nethyrmaul the Undying for something that will happen a long time from now in the game. The reason he is a secret is they have yet to encounter the dragon alive, I painted Nethyrmaul and my Narthrax to look like the alive and dead version of the same dragon. Enjoy!
  11. I picked up cheap gold glitter. Super glue on the raw bones as I wanted to make sure the jewels stuck to the plastic instead of paint on the plastic.
  12. Yes, there is a small white spot on the under belly
  13. Thanks! the gem was actually my fiance's suggestion. He even went out and bought small swarovski crystals for it :) Since I would never buy something fancy like that on my own for a mini.
  14. I've been really, really, bad. I haven't painted since, well December... Partially because my boyfriend finally popped the question around then so I've been busy with person life stuff like planning a geeky wedding, moving in together, and other real life things. So I'll start off with my take of Smaug with the Pathfinder Red Dragon. The white got washed out but I promise it looks better in person than the pictures. and a close up of the head and underbelly:
