  1. Thankfully, most of our clocks change themselves (ah, technology).
  2. I would banish all of the 3rd string candy: the candy corn, smartees, candy pumpkins (ugh). Also, no Christmas before November.
  3. ??? == lazy; just can't be bothered to put something together. When we have kids, this will likely change.
  4. My wife tells me that Caedmon and Ciara said thank you for the compliment (of course, they could have just been asking for fish) :D
  5. - No, because they are easy to ignore - no, but it makes me really happy! - Our boy-cat, Caedmon (he's also my profile pic): Caedmon by Colin Thomas, on Flickr And this is his sister, Ciara Ciara by Colin Thomas, on Flickr
  6. - didn't watch it - going out on top can be a good idea. However, you need to evaluate the why: are you leaving out of fear (not a good idea) or because you want to enter a new chapter of life (good idea).
  7. Didn't watch as we don't have cable and it won't be on Hulu. I plan to check it out when it comes to Netflix.
  8. R: Oct26 - I like the one with wings and and horns the best. Everything goes together nicely without being too over the top.
  9. I don't know the entire line that well, but I'm sure that Patrick Keith could do a great job with any of the older female sculpts.
  10. I saw a DeLorean on TV (yeah, we watched the movie last night). I probably wouldn't try a hoverboard. If I did, I'd probably be trying out the local ER.
  11. Always filtered water. Pour-over and French Press demand no less. Also, freshly ground beans that were roasted that week. b/c I'm becoming a weekend coffee snob.
  12. B-wing. The first time I saw it, I was like WTF is that ugly thing? But it grows on you.
  13. No, because my general rule is: If I am early enough to get a good seat, I will be early enough to get a ticket. I would rather wait on a movie than be forced to sit too close and get a headache. However, I do plan on seeing it opening weekend.
  14. Short: no, never heard of it Long: We went apple picking, watched Pitch Perfect 2 (wish I could say it was the wife's choice...), and played some boardgames. This afternoon, we are working on our adoption profile book.
  15. Yeah, I'm in for a Collector's tier. The art looks so gorgeous and the game rules look solid.
  16. I celebrated Pumpkin Spice Day* by taking half the day off and drinking a Venti Pumpkin Spice Mocha, eating a pumpkin donut, and enjoying an awesome Imperial Stout w/ Pumpkin called Southern Tier Warlock. *pumpkin spice has done much more for global happiness than Columbus ever did. If you can find it you may want to try adding New Holland Ichabod to the next observance of this holiday :P I will certainly check that out. One of the stores here in Charlottesville carries lots of specialty beers so I bet they would have access to it. I think there is a single bottle. We were gone this weekend and have not made it to the store; however, beer never lasts long in our fridge anyway (and our two states of wine bottle seem to be unopened and empty). Favorites: anything Imperial Stout (especially Dark Hollow from Blue Mountain Brewery), coffee stouts, almost anything pumpkin. Really like Porters and Brown Ales, too. The only type I don't dig are the really hoppy IPAs (which seems to be all that grocery stores in central VA carry).

  18. The only one I can think of is Pret-a-Porter, a really heavy economic Euro about the fashion industry. I love heavy Euro games (I'm really an Omni-gamer) and think that it had a really unique theme.
  19. BGG is probably my favorite forum on the internet (judging by the amount of time I spend on it). I come mostly from the boardgame playing side of things. I got into painting mostly as a way to make my boardgame pieces look great.
  20. Put in my October pledge. Got the paints out of the way previously so I went for those wickedly cute Mouslings and awesome Kyra & Lavarath. Ma'aldrakar will be added soon and I'm looking forward to seeing the Shipwreck Revenant and Solar, Angel prior to adding those.
  21. Breakfast is the only meal I would even consider eating at McDonald's (and it has been a few years since I have done so). The hashbrowns are great and the Southern Chicken biscuit is pretty good. However, we are about to have 2 Chick-fil-A's in town and I will never choose McDonald's when I can get Chick-fil-A.
  22. Really relieved as I have a bunch of Kickstarters delivering in the next month or so. Also, I still have 20 miniatures to paint, so the world can't end.
  23. For it not to have happened would mean that we were very different types of humans. One of the things that seems to define humanity for me is the desire to seek out and discover, to reach beyond our own little worlds. A humanity that doesn't have this is not one I would want to live around. Also, I like my smartphone and would miss its GPS, unlimited data access, and ability to talk to almost anyone in the world by just dialing.
  24. I started following in August and participating in September.
