  1. Since I last updated my list the following are still outstanding or have updates Wyrd Games Through the Breach - Delayed, expect it to turn up sometime in 2014. WIBA - Depends on the actual item Rivet Wars - First part of my reward received late, second part not due yet WIBA - Maybe Midgard Miniatures - Delayed, not entirely confident that I'll receive them, see other people's comments WIBA - Not if I was paid to Godslayer - Everything finally received WIBA - If they pad their delivery dates a bit more, yes Torn armour - Delayed, communicated to us, waiting to see what happens WIBA - not at this point All Quiet on the Martian Front - Have obviously learned from Fanticide. Unsurprised by delays, which have been communicated. WIBA - We'll see how this goes for me to decide if AD is worth backing a 3rd time... Tablescapes - Not due yet, the boards I've chosen aren't expected til early 2014 and communications have been reasonable so far WIBA - Will wait until I have the items in hand. Wargods of Olympus - Mine are not due yet, communication through kickstarter has been lacking, but updates have been made through their forums. I'm confident they'll deliver, as expected the first two waves have been delayed WIBA - Probably, but then I'm a wargods tragic... Bones II - Not due yet Chibi Asian - Not due yet War & Empire - not due yet So currently waiting on 5 that are late, one of which I'm not confident will deliver, but the rest should be fine...
  2. You'd be surprised at that. Libraries have changed with the advent of the internet, however their core purpose has not changed, and that is to connect people with information. You may think that younger people are able to filter the drek, however my experiences tell me that this does not apply as a whole (in fact, studies show that the vast majority of people don't get past the first page of search results). Also, your description of the internet as a giant library full of everything ever shows a severe lack of understanding, as there is a lot of historical information that isn't available online, and even with more recent information a lot of it, particularly in specialised areas of study, is hidden behind paywalls and not easily available - in a lot of cases it isn't even findable unless you are connected to the relevant database. This is where libraries come in, they provide people with the ability to access these databases, they provide people who are technologically disadvantaged with a means to access the necessary tools, and provide people with training so that they can better make use of the tools that are available.
  3. Working in the same sector I understand this completely. What makes it worse is the short-sighted perception of some people that 'everything is digital, so why do we need libraries', resulting in the aforementioned budget cuts (in real $ terms if not in absolute $ terms). (sorry for continuing the thread derailment)
  4. Not picking on Smokestack here but where is it stated that these were going to be cast in resin? Defiance, at least as far as I know, is a plastic manufacturer at least everything they produce is plastic. Assembling 20mm plastic miniatures shouldn't be a problem at all. It was Defiance Games who said they would be cast in Resin
  5. Jedko is also known as Milsims...
  6. I received my shipping notification....but the tracking number isn't providing any updates...
  7. Collide Bent & Broken - Music rather than miniatures, was slightly delayed due to issues with the printer but I knew that they'd deliver and am very happy with the result - WIBA - Yes, no questions asked Wyrd Games Evil Baby Orphanage - Delivered, happy with the final result, but the communication left a lot to be desired, final rewards were about 6 months late, which was frustrating considering that they had the initial product on time. I was confident that they'd deliver though. WIBA - Already have (Through the Breach) Reaper Bones - Delivered, happy with the final results, as with most people I think that the communications and logistics of the RoW orders could've been better organised, but at the end of the day I was confident they'd deliver. WIBA - Already have Alien Dungeon Fanticide - Delivered, happy with the figures and the rulebook, another kickstarter where they dropped the ball on communication and took more than 6 months to get the final items out to backers (they did ship the initial items out on time) WIBA - Already have Bombshell Babes - Delivered, again these were late but communication was outstanding. One small issue with my reward by that was resolved quickly. WIBA - Yes, if interested in the content Impact Miniatures Chibis - Happy with the communications. These have arrived, some small issues that I'm trying to get resolved at the moment WIBA - Already have Hell on Earth Miniatures - Delivered, happy with the final result but communication was lacking. Over 6 months late by the time I received them. WIBA - No, lack of communication was the killer Blackwater Gulch - Communications have been lacking but I think this is a reflection of the fact that the creator is relying on another company for manufacture, distribution and everything else. Currently waiting for them to turn up WIBA - Maybe, if the right options were available, although if working with Game Salute again I'd be inclined to wait for retail. Wyrd Games Through the Breach - Delayed, expect it to turn up sometime in 2014. WIBA - Depends on the actual item Rivet Wars - Will be delayed, but that has been communicated. Apparently due to ship soon, however as part of my reward was not due 'til Q1 2014 I can wait...WIBA - creator yes, CMON, No Midgard Miniatures - Delayed, not entirely confident that I'll receive them, see other people's comments WIBA - Not if I was paid to Godslayer - Delivered, with an issue with my reward. Delayed due to over-optimism by the creators, also been overly optimistic in comments. Customer service when contacted directly has been good. Everything important received WIBA - yes, if they push out their delivery dates Gnomish Adventurers - Delivered WIBA - if the right options were run Empire of the Dead: Requiem - Delivered WIBA - Already have Legends: fantasy violin - delivered early, can only echo what other people have said about the value that Julia places on her backers WIBA - Already have Torn armour - Delayed, communicated to us, waiting to see what happens WIBA - not at this point All Quiet on the Martian Front - Have obviously learned from Fanticide. Bones II - Not due yet Chibi Asian - Not due yet
  8. I will probably have one, possibly two, spare after packing everything I was planning on using them for (the one lot I've packed so far I was expecting to need two cases for, but it only required one). And yes, I'm based in Australia :-)
  9. I picked up enough cases....and although I was planning on using them for a variety of systems and cutting the foam anyway, I do think that the lack of a top foam sheet and the size of the slots is not ideal as my situation is not the norm. I have had to change the plans for which systems would go into these cases due to the size of the slots anyway (although one that I was hoping to get in there does fit without any cutting).
  10. At $25 each I'm not too fussed either - I was planning to use mine for various different systems with various different sized models so was already planning on cutting the foam to fit the models I'd be putting in there, luckily I have some foam floating around that I can use as a top sheet.
  11. It has me worried as well...I probably should check that my cases do have foam...
  12. My packages were at this status for 3 and 6 days respectively until they were reported as having been processed though the sort facility in Australia. After that processing it was 2 working days until I received them. The information that they'd been processed into Australia was the last piece of information that I received before delivery (and the information about being out for delivery etc. wasn't updated until 6-8 hours after they'd been delivered).
  13. The undertaker orders are retail backers from the kickstarter, which are limited to US and Canada only. As far as I understand commercial release to distributors is being delayed until a week after shipping to kickstarter backers is complete.
  14. The half of my shipment that had been identified as scanned into Australia has now arrived, this contained figure cases, the vampire box, 2 of 3 wyrmgear and the paints, leaving all the big add-ons (including the rest of the dragons) still to come...
  15. Thanks - that means mine may turn up tomorrow (which would be good, as otherwise they'll turn up to work when I'm not there)
  16. Were the any updates on the tracking beyond the 'processed through sort facility Australia' status?
  17. My shipment is split, both boxes processed in Chicago on the 19th, one box flagged in the USPS system as appearing in Australia last night, no idea where the other one is... Shipping notification received on the 17th/18th...
  18. Same with mine - one box is apparently in Australia, the other box is still apparently in Chicago...
  19. Mine are still saying Chicago (as of 19th July), so no idea where they are currently hiding! Hopefully they are in the country and will arrive by Thursday, otherwise I'm hoping they don't get to my shipping address until next Wednesday (31 August) as I'm going away for a few days...although there is someone else who can pick them up, I'd prefer to be there :-)
  20. Not the last truck - there are quite a few people still waiting to get notifications.
  21. The Australian order I have shipping notification for is 34 items, so the theory that it is the large orders before they changed the shipping order probably holds true, as a colleague with 9 items hasn't received their notification yet.
  22. Notifications received for Vampire + 33 line items headed to Australia today - 2 shipments so I'm guess the 5 figure cases are responsible for that :-) Colleague who has Vampire + 8 items hasn't received their notification yet.
  23. One thing I really don't like is when companies add 'early bird' pledges AFTER people have already pledged.
  24. I'm not a fan of early bird specials that provide a substantial discount, as it does create a bit of resentment from people who miss out, however early birds that provide a bit of a bonus for pledging over a specific amount early I don't have a problem with.
  25. I should make it clear that although I am frustrated with the delays, I'm not annoyed with the Reaper crew And as I hit submit at the same time as Bryan....I'll also say that I'm very, very glad that they took the time to sort out Kaladrax when they found out about the trouble
