  1. They have since explained dock as referring to their loading dock at the building.
  2. That would be the third time I linked to that post. Twice in these forums and once in the KS comments. I've described it in two ways. One was misleading and the other was carefully honest. Given how much information you're privy to I doubt you could read the same way as someone who has only read the updates. If you could throw away everything you know and read that post with just the information available in the updates to go on I have a feeling it would read a lot different than how you currently think it reads. Another way to put it, I don't think that post says what you think it says. Not to people other than you anyway. As I can only assume you read, since you referenced other parts of the same set of posts, I have no problem with the current update. Content and tone wise its the sort of update the earlier portion of the kickstarter lead me to expect and look forward to. Unfortunately, because of that, it also shines a light on the month + of not so good updates/lack of updates. Again, forget all the things no one outside of reaper knows, read through the updates again. If you've apologized regarding the updates I'm afraid I missed it or misread it. There was none in the main KS updates and though I'm following the forum closely I'm sure I've missed any number of posts. The impression I've ended up with was oops, we didn't think you'd notice. I'm sure that impression also effects the way I've read the updates and your posts as much as all the things you know warping what you think the updates say. My apologies if I've offended you. I don't think you're a liar, I believe you to be overly careful in your honesty. My opinion regarding the updates and information remains unchanged, but it is after all merely my opinion.
  3. I do want to reply to this - and I don't mean to single you out, and I'm not trying to jump you, but your post was convenient as it summed up what i want to address: People that are angry are assuming we knew that the final container would ship May 21 all along. Not quite right. People who are angry are looking at the time length between when you seem to have stopped shipping and when you updated and thinking that that was a very long time to be holding your breath and hoping no one noticed. Particularly when there are posts like this one that seem to imply things that seem rather misleading now http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/48373-how-complicated-are-you/page-11#entry701327

  5. I see this the exact opposite from you. People have been jumping on every little thing that gets said because reaper has been saying so little. I understand the delay. I'm ok with it. Not gleeful about it, but not all that upset either. However, this new update is about a month over due and feels like it had to be beaten out of them. In the past month anyone that's raised the question of delays in receiving from China has taken their fair beating as well. A page or two back I posted ReaperBrian's direct response to those questions. Stop speculating, we're not shipping those yet due to the size box they take.... Basically going out of his way to make it seem that this delay didn't and wouldn't exist. They weren't off hand remarks, he specifically said he came on the forum to deal with those "rumors". Reaper did good with communication up until March. Since then they have been working very hard to make sure people have reasons to jump on every little thing they say. Like I said I agree that there were/are some communication issues. The box size issue does exist and it did, indeed, hold up shipping. We don't know what is in the warehouse right now and I certainly wouldn't expect Reaper to tell us that. And if the container had arrived when it was expected then they would have been able to do at least some shipping. People make mistakes, companies make mistakes, they have acknowledged it that should be enough. This kickstarter is still farther along than a lot of others and has said a whole heck of a lot more than some other companies. The logistical issues behind this are tremendous I will continue to feel that we should be cutting Reaper some slack, be satisfied that things are on track, with an approximate schedule and just let them get to it. I'll even offer to buy out your pledge (well not until June, I only get paid once a month). The box size issue as specifically relating to things that they don't currently appear to have has been holding up shipping rather than them not having the items? I'm happy to cut Reaper slack on the delays themselves. Not so much on continuing to demand good communication and pointing out when it's failed. Without people staying on them about it I doubt we'd have the current update. That's what we learned in the time between reapercon starting and when they finally updated. No, I don't want a refund, I don't want to sell, I don't want extras thrown in, I'm not asking for any part of my order to be shipped early. I want regular updates with relevant information. I don't want to be patronized about how we can't handle getting real updates because it leads to complaining. The complaining is being created by that policy not avoided because of it.

  7. According to the site you can get it print on demand. You already own the ebook though.
  8. Call first. From what they said before only certain people are allowed to pull the items, so you'll want to make sure one of them is there.
  9. This is a much better amount of information for an update and is what should have gone up right after reapercon or even sooner. Particularly since prior to this we've been going off posts that were a bit more... misleading http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/48373-how-complicated-are-you/page-11#entry701327
  10. I think the likely answer is that they are for both. Shipment 1 had all (we think) the vampire boxes, both for fulfillment and distribution. Each shipment is likely to have all of whatever items it contains except for something getting split due to space issues. That would be the most efficient shipping method from the factories perspective.
  11. I'd say that the way to do it would be to make a rubber or silicone mold and use that to make a wax for casting.
  12. The biggest one is keeping the dice contained. Aside from that if you ever play with someone who "rolls" the dice by setting them down on the table when people are distracted one can be useful. A lot of people also thing cool looking ones add to the fun. For disadvantages, if you only have one it might mean a bit of a reach for everyone to use it. Also some of them can be loud.
  13. I believe your wife may have mislead you a bit on the legality of that site... However! You can watch Robotech free legally on youtube of all places. http://www.robotech.com/news/viewarticle.php?id=402
  14. Thanks for the info, Bryan. Yet another example to rebut the complainers - "Reaper should know every little detail, so therefore they should tell US every little detail" - actually, no, Reaper doesn't know everything. They know enough, and they share what they reasonably can. In the meantime, I know a good costume shop near my home. Everyone send me some money and I'll get us the pirate hats we'll need for this adventure. Its extremely easy to rebut any complaint if you misrepresent what the complaint actually is.
  15. Part 1 of the fuller game play video is up. It mainly covers setup.
  16. One thing that, at least I think, is important is that #90 at no point mentions shipping resumed. This was what lead to the increasingly loud demands for an update. All indications remain that nothing has shipped since before reapercon aside from a few vampire + paint type orders that somehow got dropped from the queue and missed. The 1 1/2 weeks after reapercon was over with no shipping update and no indication that any shipping was going on seemingly in hopes that they would manage to start shipping again before anyone noticed is the real communications laps.
  17. My bet would be they will still be unassembled in the blister packs - fully assembled minis of that size are just too ridiculously huge to ship efficiently, plus they take up valuable store shelf space. Shipping and packing efficiency can make a huuuuuge difference to a business's bottom line - see Ikea for a great example of how cutting shipping costs can be a major factor in lowering prices and raising profits at the same time. I'm inclined to agree, but they've also said Bones are designed to be played with right out of the package. So, I thought I'd ask the guy who knows for sure. You know what would be awesome? If they included a tiny dropper of super glue in the blister of the unassembled ones. It's a pain to find/buy a tube if you don't use it often, but it's super easy to just drop a drop on and put the pieces together if you have the glue right there. Wouldn't add much to the package size, don't know how much tiny droppers cost in bulk. I doubt this is something Reaper would do. Every dollar store, hobby store, Wal-Mart, pharmacy, and most grocers around here (South US) carry superglue; most have tubes for $1. -Dave Bought some at the dollar store a while back. 3 tubes for $1. Its cheap, easy to find, and most hobby people already own some. Waste of resources to add something to the package that won't be used. Or worse, leak and require the mini to be replaced.
  18. We have not shipped partials. I assume if he's waiting for "a larger part" that he ordered under two accounts? This part makes no sense to me otherwise... Trade show. Yeah, I couldn't really hear over the rush of blood in my ears as I systematically pounded an effigy of pocketcthulhu to splinters, buy I'm pretty sure he mentioned that they got it from one of the trade shows. Did Ed take some to GAMA? I believe from my reading in other threads and elsewhere they weren't actually given out at a show but were mailed to stores that attended.

  20. Zero. I have a warm eye and a cool eye though so I can change the color contrast by switch eyes.
  21. There is an animated Dragonlance. Don't watch it though.
  22. eh? I believe the only people getting Vampire boxes at Reapercon where KS people, they were not 'prizes' for showing up to Reapercon. Those people who contributed to the Kickstarter and were able to attend Reapercon were given the option to pick up their Vampire pledge + Paints (if any) and Cases (if any). Also, it is my understanding that Reaper has all of the Vampire pledges that they need it's the extras/options/add-ons that are lacking in supply. They were prizes in the auction, along with certain large undead dragons.
  23. Sorry. Um, looks like its at the 34 minute mark. They insulted Jim Cameron when he wanted to do it so he walked out on talks. Then they sold the rights to a these guys never expecting them to actually make a movie. Basically it was supposed to be a bunch of stuff they had to do or they'd lose the right that wasn't as difficult to do as TSR thought it would be (TRS seemed to be after free money). So now as long as they meet the requirements, things like submitting new scripts ever so often, they get to keep the rights.
  24. Here is a video that explains how the movie rights to D&D ended up foolishly squandered for all of eternity.
  25. Isn't this actually an example of someone jumping to conclusions because the official update on KS about shipping starting and the order of shipping didn't show up until after small tidbit were thrown up on facebook and the reaper forum? If the update on KS had come first instead of a day later wouldn't it have perhaps headed off these complaints?
