  1. " No but with hands they could " Kinda what I was thinking... Shoulder mount a PBG or LBG, something with a short barrell or make a kick-butt DFM and mount that, then give it something to cave in cockpits with like a hammer or flail ..or both.. hmmmmmm.. off to the dungeon
  2. Thanks guys for taking the time to school a newbie. I figured it had come up before but I had to ask.
  3. Why don't CAV's have hands? I'm not blind so I realize that every CAV we've seen has weapons hanging off it's torso but surely there's some kind of industrial use for CAV's or a similiar type of device. It would make battlefield salvage simpler and easier too I would think. Then there's the utility of tearing things up on the battlefield with some kind of manipulators. Although it's never really talked about in the game, engineers build all kinds of defensive stuff like wire obstacles and fallen trees to impede mobility on the modern battlefield. Wouldn't it make sense that CAV units would

I even have some graphics I'd be willing to contribute to make the Spartan decals I had no idea this would take off like this, I'm kinda glad I brought it up. You guys have some excellent ideas about this. One of the keys to making it work I think is to tie it in with some new optional rules that give a UCOR or racial specific force some advantage. Or if your whole force comes from one manufacturer i.e. SyRam, you get a repair bonus or some such. The other key I think is to make it somewhat cheaper to buy a "force" then it would be to buy it all seperately.
  5. Yep, always smile. I've demo'd for other companies over the years and the two things that always worked for me was to have at least a decent looking army and always be nice. Gamers have almost without fail huge ego's. I never, ever get into any sort of debate about anything with them. I just nod and smile and say things like " I didn't know that. " a lot. Ditto on the persoanl hygiene. Be clean and neat looking. Shave or trim your beard. Make sure your hair is neat etc. Asking the guy running the store if he knows anyone that might be interested is also a good tack. A surprising num

I kinda like the web-based Army thingy too as long as it wouldn't be too difficult to manage with all the pull down menu's etc. I'm fairly computer illiterate so I can't even begin to comment about that. Sounds cool though. " Oh computer Gods we unwashed heathen beseech thee, make it thus?"

So I guess it wasn't a bad idea? There's some great ideas regarding this, I just hope Matt is paying attention to it.

" Otherwise, the fact that you can individually buy blisters allows players to pick and choose from a multitude of UCORS and if they so desire can still predominantly play with a certain group only." That's good and bad really. When you can buy anything you want for your army then you get what you like and then you're kinda done. If you had racial/UCOR armies then players would be encouraged to buy different units, infantry, air etc. and organize them thusly. I'm not saying don't sell blisters, I love being able to individualize my army. All I'm saying is maybe try something like

Thanks guys. I also think some better definition of factions along with some cool fluff would be a great shot in the arm for sales and play. Players love rivalries.
  10. A beautiful bonde dressed elegantly approaches a craps table in Las Vegas. She looks at the dealer and says, " I would like to bet $10,000 on one roll please." The Dealer calls the pit boss over and she gets permission for the bet. " If you don't mind I feel luckier when nude." The dealer and pit boss look at each other and nod. She promptly undresses, picks up the dice, rattles them and tosses. She screams excitedly, collects her winnings and gown then disapears into the crowd. " Wha'd she roll?" the dealer asked the pit boss. " I dunno, I thought you were watching." He replied.
  11. Tasteless alert... What's the opposite of Christopher Reeve? Christopher Walken
  12. I'm glad to see I'm not the only cheapskate that buys krylon at wal-mart. LOL I tried some white primer from GW and it wasn't a hair different from krylon. Next we'll be using bailing wire and duct tape to put our mini's together! LOL
  13. That was absolutely hilarious!! PLEEEEEEEZZZZZZ finish it!!

I just had a thought, and I don't have many so bear with me. Has it ever been discussed putting together UCOR specific boxed sets of four mini's? Pre-made sections of all SyRam or RMI or Koda? Or maybe support boxed sets containing two infantry and two transports? Just a thought. Thoughts?
  15. "A beast by that name appears in a French(?) legend. It had a head like a snake, a body like a bear, legs like an elephant, feet like bear's paws and a whippy little snake's tail and was terrorizing this village until a saint tamed it and led it into town with her hand on its chin, where the villagers promptly slaughtered it. " And not a moment too soon either!! LOL " What is it?" "Dead." ( I love that old joke)
  16. Has anyone mentioned a feline character or monster? We have lupine's but I haven't seen any big kittys. Just an observation.
  17. I have to go with red5 on this. I was soapboxing somewhere not long ago about Reaper needing to give the CAV universe a little more "flavor". I do have to claim ignorance about the fantasy world though so I really don't have a good grasp on the races. I agree that the Rach amd Malvernis need something to set them apart from Human and Templar but what exactly I don't know. I think encouraging "racial" armies would boost sales and also give rise to some pretty fun rivalries ala elves and dwarves. I would also encourage some more "fluff" books like the BT House books. Gives the univers
  18. Just like the old ones with a touch of F-16 thrown in. Pretty cool actually.
  19. What if the Boomer we saw with the cylons is model number 13? Who says the cylons couldn't build a replica of Boomer to sneak aboard Galactica? The blonde certainly got a good look at her when Baltar was rescued and she does pilot an ECM bird...... Just food for thought. I haven't decided if I like it yet or not. It was entertaining enough to hold my attention and I had a certain curiousity to see "what else had changed". I don't really think Starbuck should have been a woman but wether she can pull it off remains to be seen.
  20. Love 'em or hate 'em most of GW's stuff is pretty cool. I play the Space Marines and always have so I'm a little biased when it comes to how much "badder" the Marines should look. I'm still hacked about the Deathwing Terminators not being sold in a box set anymore. The Marines should pretty much be the most intimidating looking army but I don't think they need the larger bases. Number of wounds and ballistic skill score and armor saves all speak for themselves in the "badness" race. just my two peso's worth
  21. Now if only GW would bring back the old rules for librarians and psykers and use those instead of the immasculated version they have now the Grey Knights would truly be a chapter to be feared again.
