Does a 2nd-level human Agent get any bonus feats? I don't have my book with me, so I can't look it up. I'm PM'ed Smokin' my skill point choices, but I need to know if I'm supposed to choose a feat as well.

    Done.

Ah, so that's why I wasn't seeing anything in the Playing thread. Oops. Should have been reading this thread as well. I'm currently on the road for a couple months, and my B5 RPG books and Jack Handy's character sheet are packed away in storage back home. Smokin', can you PM me my stats?

I'll be travelling until August 2nd. I'll try to get online from time to time to post, but feel free to make decisions for my character if you need to advance the plot.

"I'd suggest that maintenance corridor outside the docks on level 5, Miss Fletcher," Handy addresses "Miss Fletcher" respectfully. "They've been having trouble with the lighting, but with the list of high-priority repair jobs they've got, they won't get to it for at least a couple weeks. Dark corridor, hard to see a face until you're close. And someone wearing a maintenance uniform could easily pop open a panel, say the fifth panel down from the intersection, and place something behind it for someone else to pick up."

If you were waiting for me, sorry about the delay. I just didn't get to the game at all last week. I've got a post up now.

Looks like she's taking the "bad cop" role, Jack thinks. Don't want to be too obvious about it, though... "I don't think that'll be necessary, Miss Fletcher," Jack says. "I'm sure they didn't have anything on Briggs. If they did, they wouldn't have let him go like that. Garibaldi was just trying to sweat some info out of him, that's all." "By the way, Briggs, I hope you can get that shipment. I've got nothing against you, but if Miss Fletcher tells me to take you down, I'll do it. I don't want to end up as breakfast for the Pak'ma'ra like the last guy who crossed her. She's the most scary person I've ever met, and I've met quite a few."

    Hi.

Wha...? I thought that 3.5 WAS the new rules! That's the most up-to-date stuff you can get here! (Australia, that is). Oh no, don't tell me I bought the 3.5 Players' Handbook and Monster Manual for nothing! AAAAARGH! Tommy. Don't worry, 3.5 is the latest. In your original post you said "D&D 3rd Edn." and Nym probably assumed, as I did, that you were talking about 3.0. He was offering to convert a 3.0 character to 3.5 for you so you wouldn't need to buy 3.5 just for one game.

"Briggs, Briggs," Jack says. His voice sounds almost kind. "Of course you didn't talk; you know what would happen if you talked." "No, what Mercury wants to know is, did you finish the job before Garibaldi's clowns picked you up, or is Miss Fletcher here going to have to help you finish it?"

"Don't be stupid," Handy hisses at Briggs. "You're not going to get hurt. Not unless you're dumb enough to try to bolt, anyway. Besides, I think you'll be interested in hearing what Miss Fletcher has to say." "A quiet place? Right." Jack thinks for a second. "This way, then." He leads Missy and Briggs down several corridors. As they walk, the look of the corridors and bulkheads starts getting less business-like and more industrial, and the background hum of machinery can be heard. After a few minutes they reach a featureless corridor with no doors for about a hundred feet. Somewhere nearby, something mechanical is making a loud, repetitive clanking noise. "Not 'quiet', exactly, but nobody's going to be able to eavesdrop on any conversations here," Jack says to Missy, "and nobody comes by except maintenance crew."

Boy, I'm playing a silent type, aren't I? I'll try and keep it interesting with some internal dialogue...

Jack Handy walks down the corridor without speaking, preferring to let either "Fletcher" or Briggs break the silence. As he's trailing them both by about a half-step, neither one can see that his eyes scan Briggs slightly more often than necessary, nor can they read the slight tension in his shoulders that suggests he's ready to move very fast should Briggs be so stupid as to try anything physical. Sometimes I wish I'd taken up a job that wasn't so... "interesting". Whoever came up with that quip about "May you live in interesting times" must have been a bodyguard. Or a soldier.

Bump. Still would like an answer...

"Only possible snag I can think of is if Briggs was involved with whoever shot at you in that corridor yesterday. I never did get a look at their faces. If he was involved, he'll probably recognize you. I don't think that's likely, though, and as Garibaldi said, he'll have good reason for wanting to keep you on his good side until after the trial. I think this will work." Garibaldi and the guard with him should be well around the corner and gone by now, so it won't look like we're leaving with him. "Shall we go, then?" Jack leads the way towards Security Central.

Jack Handy ponders Garibaldi's suggestion briefly. "I've been careful to maintain a reputation as a bodyguard who doesn't ask questions about his clients' business, so I think Briggs will trust me to keep my mouth shut. If "Miss Fletcher" wants to risk it, I'll back her." He thinks a bit more, then asks Garibaldi, "Want me to keep using the same method to deliver data crystals to you, or do you want to set up something else? You know who'd be at risk if I'm discovered."
