  1. I always do a Christmas adventure with my D&D group. This year was a "Nightmare before Christmas" theme, last year was 'Scrooge". Of course this years "Christmas" game was played in January or February =P. I plan on adding flock and static grass to these. All the minis are from Reaper, all the pumpkins I made out of Sculpey. The objective was to prevent the Pumpkin King and his minions from getting Santa into the Pumpkin Portal. Of course when my group got there they almost decided to kill Santa for loot. Anyway the Blue face pumpkin would slow any enemies within so many squares and the Green faced pumpkin would blow back any enemies within so many squares, the Yellow topped pumpkins would explode when enemies got close, and the Green pumpkins were toxic, poisoning any enemies nearby. (Enemies = players). The Pumpkin King can summon 3 Pumpkin minions out of the Pumpkin Portal, and only 3 minions can be up at a time. The pumpkin portal is immune to magic or magic effects, but not melee. Moving a single pumpkin out of line ruins the portal. I tried to cut n paste my monster templates I created here. Pumpkins Level 2 Traps XP: 150 per Hit Points: 10 DEFENSES: Armor Class AC: 5 Fort/Reflex/Will: 5 Special Skills: Immune: Disease, poison Resist: Necrotic 10 Vulnerable: Radiant 5 Explosive Pumpkin Explodes for 4d6 fire damage within 1 square. Slowing Pumpkin Slows all within 2 squares. Blowing Pumpkin Blows enemies back 4 squares, if within 3 squares. Poison Pumpkin 5 poison damage per round, unless save vs. Fort. Pumpkin Minion Level 3 Lurker XP: 200 Hit Points:30 (Bloodied 15) Movement Speed: 4 DEFENSES: Initiative Bonus: +6 Armor Class AC:18 Perception +6 Fort: 15 Special Skills: Ref: 14 Darkvision Will: 16 Immune: Disease, poison Resist: Necrotic 10 Vulnerable: Radiant 5 Pumpkin portal: 3 Minions can be at the game at a time, if any of the pumpkins that make up the ring are moved or damaged the portal is destroyed. The pumpkin portal is immune to magic.   2. Thank you for all the nice comments! My wife thinks I'm crazy for all the time and effort I put into these projects. I wish she would help, but she "tolerates" it and lets me use the dining room table. Catdancer is there an easy way to check out your projects here? I added some pics here, I'm working on the 2nd floor for the building. I have it so the stairs are wide enough for a mini to stand on, and they can stand on it even with the 2nd floor on. There would have been more windows but the wood I was using at the time was very thick for some of the walls. The down stairs windows were painted wood, 2nd floor I started using thinner wood and I was able to cut out the windows with a hobby knife. I also made some castle/fort/city walls wide enough for minis to fight on top of. The tower doesn't have a back so minis can be placed in. The top is nothing special no cool parapet, and no arrow slits. I am going to detail the walls and tower with paint, definitely painted arrow slits, not sure what else. Any suggestions/tips for sprucing up the walls and tower?
  3. Wow, thanks everyone! I will check it out Joe. Jake, I agree about the floppy icon, my 12 year old daughter has no idea what any of the old disks are. I wouldn't know how to save something without the icon now though.
  4. Here are some Reaper gnolls I painted, I have no luck with varnish, I just go for shiny, these started to come out cloudy. I ordered some blended flock and static grass so I'll throw some on these when it gets here. 5 gnolls here 2 metal archers, 1 metal gnoll w/axe, 2 Bones gnolls w/flails. The scale mail on the Bones gnolls is larger than the others, extremely easy to paint, after painting these I would prefer just Bones versions, the details are excellent. Hard to see the reds, I have a light red on the edges of any red areas. I know on the inside of the shield I got sloppy, I'll pretend a gnoll made the shield. Anyway I was going for a "hyena" type look, if it gives anyone ideas for their gnolls.
  5. I apologize for the size of these pics. I started making some buildings out of various wood I got from Michaels. I started by using a glue gun, then switched to using the glue gun a little to hold walls in place, then wood glue for the majority. The picture of the three buildings on their sides drying; the one on the left is the second floor for the finished building (which is the 1st floor), the middle is going to be a one tory building, and you can't tell but the one on the right is a wall section. On the bottom is a small building, an outhouse I'm working on. I use wood and sculpey to make things, also sculpey to make molds and then cast plaster such as barrells and crates. My wife and daughter worked on the barrells and crates some, my wifes idea for colorful barrells. I dry brushed over their work, they couldn't quite get the technique.
  6. OMG paladin cooking everyone dinner, that made my day hehehe. I like the idea of a thief sorting through a bag of loot, that would make a good mission objective, retrieve stolen goods.
  7. Naponatoms idea for a set of different level ranges for characters is neat. (low level, mid-level, high-level and epic level of each class. Fighter, cleric, mage and thief) In addition variations of the characters without their gear, what DM doesnt love doing the "no gear" prison break game. As well as injured versions of the characters.
  8. I like that there are a few requests for kobolds already, and I would like to see some player character kobold models. (had a player with a rogue kobold, always kept a dead/live chicken on him) Also would love to see more Clockwork models, as I would love to introduce a fantasy engineer class. 1) Clockwork soldier/golem 2) Clockwork fire turret 3) Clockwork crossbow turret 4) Clockwork shieldwall 5) Player character engineer model ; leather armor or plate, with wrench etc. Lastly models of traps would be awesome: 1) Spikes (pit or walls) 2) Blade traps (floor/wall) 3) Fire traps
  9. Thanks Matbar I didn't think of elves for Eric thats the direction I will head with him! That Uncle Sam figure is very close to the quirkiness of Johnny Depp, thank you! I appreciate everyones suggestions, but to me you really got it Mat.

  11. Hello, I run a D&D group with my 11 year old daughter and cranky wife. In an effort to encourage my wife to roleplay more Im going to add two NPCs based on her favorite guys; Eric Northman from Trueblood and Johnny Depp. I do not want a Captain Jack Sparrow character. I was thinking something along the lines of his Sleepy Hallow character Ichabod Crane. Its ok if they are wearing armor or different outfits, as long as the face is close. Any suggestions for minis to represent them? Thanks. Spencer
