  1. The main two things at the moment are:- Cutting back the bramble patch again before it re-generates too much, I'm waiting for the weather to cool down a bit more before tackling this one. And redecorating the kitchen and bathroom. Not sure what's going to get me moving on this (I hoped I'd be able hire someone to do it instead, but no luck), I'm just too used to the mankiness at this point.
  2. Double update day woot! The sword sheath is Leather Brown > Leather Brown/Iraqi Sand > Brown Wash with (Bronze > Brown Wash > Bronze > Polished Gold) decorations and a (Scarlett Red > Scarlett Red/Ochre Yellow > Brown Wash) handle and tied strap thingy.
  3. A quick drybrush of her base later and she's done:- https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/96899-44123-frost-giant-heroine/
  4. Presenting the Frost Giant Heroine from Reaper. Not my best work, I'm still not great at getting all the mold-lines off these PVC minis, plus I was painting her to help work through some issues I was having so she's a bit on the rough and basic side. Was still a lot of fun to paint up though, I'll have to get the other one done now. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  5. Did the cloth part of her cape in Hexed Lichen, shaded with Hexed Lichen/Pure Black (I also used this on the inside of the cape), highlighted with Hexed Lichen/Ghost Grey and Hexed Lichen/Ghost Grey/Off-white and glazed with some Purple Wash. Get that sword done next.
  6. "Would you like chips with that?" I did watch Sunday's episode of One Piece through "unofficial" means if that counts. Getting unnecessarily hot and sweaty plus the horror of mowing the lawn.
  7. Yep, he just seems to be having so much fun making his vids that they're infectiously cheerful. Always up for more wacky cover artists.
  8. There goes my productive evening, watched far too many Youtube vids of a guy performing metal covers of random songs. Not sure why as I'm not really into metal.
  9. Thanks! Finished off her boots by giving the fur a Sepia Wash and then using the base colours as a highlight. Next, they got Oily Steel metal heel guards, and little decorations that I think are feathers (they're a base coat of Stormy Blue/Pure Black, little striations of Stormy Blue/Ghost Grey and then a Blue Wash). I never got around to putting any Primer on her base so that's the next job.
  10. Hair! It's a base of Stormy Blue/Pure Black with highlights of Stormy Blue/Ghost Grey and then a Blue Wash. The hair ribbon is a base of Scarlett Red with highlights of Scarlett Red/Ochre Yellow and a Brown Wash. I think I'll finish her cape next.
  11. Finished off the base with Olive Green vines, Bronze Green leaves and Scarlett Red/Off-white berry things. Awil-sin, as a scout he can normally be found patrolling his forest home looking for signs of intruding outsiders or Beastman aggression. And with the final two minis already moved to a new thread, this is the end of this one.
  12. Went grocery shopping at the big supermarket today which I always find oddly enjoyable. I just like wandering up and down the aisles, picking up stuff that's not on the list. This time I got a couple Tex Mex meal kits, one makes taco bowls, the other crunchy nacho wraps.
  13. Always been a fan of The Arcadia:-
  14. Thanks guys! Painted up the collar of her armour in Bronze and her head in (Dwarf Flesh > Flesh Wash > Dwarf Flesh > Dwarf Flesh/Light Flesh > Dwarf Flesh Glaze). She then got Bonewhite teeth (with a Brown Wash) and a Bronze eyebrow ring (looking at the piccy, I think she might have a nose ring too, but I can't see it on the model so I'm leaving well alone). Hair next.
  15. Glad to be of some help! My main suggestion would be to consider leaving her arms off for as long as possible, I've made such a mess on mine trying to get my brush under them. Thanks! Thought I'd have this done but her unnecessarily complicated boots have been a real time soak. Started with her little bit of trousers in Cold Grey with Iraqi Sand stitches, plus Oily Steel knee-pads. Then I basecoated her boots in Leather Brown, picked out the straps and stitches in Red Leather, fur in Iraqi Sand/Ochre Yellow (the larger parts also a Bonewhite drybrush) and some Bronze staple/buckle things. It all got hit with a Brown Wash (except the larger fur bits, they'll get a Sepia Wash when the rest is dry). Tidy everything up tomorrow.
  16. Thanks! Made a start on his base. The water is Magic Blue drybrushed with Sky Blue (And turned out a heck of a lot better than I thought it would). The ground is Leather Brown, drybrushed with Iraqi Sand and given a Brown Wash. The branch is Parasite Brown, drybrushed with Ochre Yellow and given a Sepia Wash. Just vines, leaves and possibly berries to go.
  17. Wanted to continue working on my Underworld stuff, but didn't fancy the last two minis I had left in the previous thread, so thought I'd roll them into a new one. This time we've got 10 randomly chosen minis, the two dudes from the last thread and the whole Sea Elf team (They felt too fragile to pack away after I built them). Here we have Cyrille and Celine (A pair of Elven Peacekeepers) and Snoz a Goblin Scout with his wolf Fang. This set consists of Zellotl (Lizardman Warrior), Freshly Awake (a newly risen Skeleton), Frilna (a companion beast to the Fey Elves), Sorcha (battle-hardened Mercenary) and Ailithir (Evil Knight). Yrkill and Jafari (from the previous thread) plus their companions Sigmundur and Sethos (because someone or something is determined to have me paint these particular teams). Sethos isn't an Underworlds figure but is a matching Cultist from the OOP Warhammer Quest:- Silver Tower game on an old resin base I found. And this is the Sea Elf team. We've got Gaelin (he's a Fish), Tanjaya (the Warrior at the back), Indra (a Summoner), Surya (a Harpooner with no eyes) and Orym (he's a Crab). Making a start on Sorcha:- Painted the furry collar on her cape. It's a base of Cold Grey with a Black Wash and the drybrushes of Cold Grey, Ghost Grey and Off-white (Only on the upper shoulder bits). Not sure if I should paint her head next or the armour that's close to it, either way I think I'll make a mess.
  18. Tried to get the rest of her waist finished off. The axe head is Oily Steel with a Black Wash and highlights of Oily Steel and Oily Steel/Aluminium. Various wood bits are Parasite Brown lightly drybrushed with Ochre Yellow. There's some Leather Brown > Leather Brown/Bonewhite straps. The sheath of her dagger plus the openings of her sword sheath and drinking cup is Scarlett Red/Pure Black. Lots of Bronze decoration. I hit all this with some Brown Wash. Unfortunately, I've started a new bottle of Brown Wash and it not only pools badly it dries very shiny too (not sure if I got a bad bottle or they've changed the formulation), so gotta go over her later, see if anything needs fixing.
  19. Painted his sword. The blade is Oily Steel with a Black Wash and then highlights of Oily Steel and Oily Steel/Aluminium, the hilt has a Parasite Brown with Ochre Yellow highlights handle with Bronze decoration and a Brown Wash. Just got to tidy up the sword hilt, and then it's on to his extra fancy base.
  20. I fed a squirrel some sweetcorn (It was curious enough about what we were feeding the ducks that it came close enough to the housemate and I that I probably could've tried hand-feeding it, but didn't want to risk my fingers), also brought a bottle of Kombucha to try on the way home, it was surprisingly tasty. Probably the first time I had to pay rent and utility bills. Not only was I working my butt off in a job I didn't like, but suddenly I didn't even get to keep most of the money I made? Adulthood is such a scam.
  21. Crossed another one off my 'Wanna watch at some point' list by watching Snowpiercer. With how surreal some of the train cars got I'm assuming the whole thing was an allegory or metaphor that just went over my head, still entertaining even if I didn't get it.
  22. If I tried really hard I could probably come up with a top 50 favourite minis, but picking just one is too much. Heck, I couldn't even pick a favourite mini out of what's on my painting desk at the moment (Currently it would be a tie between Angry Warrior Lady and Fancy Elven Archer (Not my pictures), although that opinion would undoubtedly change if I had another look at my desk).
  23. Completed a bit more waist junk. She's now got a (Leather Brown > Leather Brown/Iraqi Sand > Brown Wash) apron with Bronze studs. There's also a couple Leather Brown squares, one has Bonewhite stitches, the other (that's tucked down the side) has Bronze studs too. She also got a (Red Leather > Red Leather/Iraqi Sand > Brown Wash) bum-bag with more Bronze studs, and Iraqi Sand ropey bits. The ropey bits could do with a highlight, then I'll move on to her final waist bits.
  24. Nothing serious, probably a tie between breaking my arm or my wrist.
