  1. That would be the local Outland, I guess? The Norwegian FLGS ;) The Trondheim one is pretty much the same, while the one in Oslo has a pretty good selection of PP figures, and some other games as well :)

I went to Bergen in junior high, it's a great looking city. Pretty much known in Norway for being the place where it rains all the time ;)

  2. Thanks for the kind words, everyone  :upside:

    Interesting paint scheme, very nice.

The funny thing is that I just slapped some colors on him. And they just agreed with each other and ended up okay. Just gotta love that feeling :)

I love it, just give him pupils and he's perfect.

Pupils, yes. I gotta get around to that. Perhaps when I get some water effects for the base. Totally not procrastinating at all ;)

I have spoiled myself by painting my Skorne with pupil-less white eyes!

  3. Thanks everyone!   :bday:

great color and depth - i like the scales but find myself wanting either a brighter picture or a bit of highlighting added to make the scales pop

I think part of it is in the picture, but the scales doesn't really draw the eye IRL either. I didn't manage to highlight them properly with my palette (and speed paint), but I suspect the mini comes off better with the feathers and body as the eye-drawers. Gogo speedpaint! Perhaps I have some Goblin ancestry?..

I like this.  I may use this as a template for when I paint my own!

Wee! I'd love to see that! :D

  4. Got my harpy painted! Somewhat quick paint job.

I struggled finding a color sheme for this one, and wanted a mini to play around with a limited palette. Everything on the mini is a mix of these colors:

    (and brown liner)

What do you guys think? Any tips/hints/critiwue welcome :)

If it works like last time it ended up over here in a little over a week, at my door in close to two iirc (a bit of a customs delay).

Was definitely not the "standard" shipping I usually get from the U.S that takes at least 2 weeks to even make Norway.

My package is in Norway! :D According to the UPS-site. Let us hope that the customs people will be quick :)

UPS is being too damned slow with my package!  It was labelled and sent out on 2/17, and it hasn't even left TX yet!  It's moved a whole 14 miles from Dallas to Mesquite!  I think they are being passive aggressive  :poke:

Of course, it doesn't help that they picked things up on the 17th, but it didn't get it's origin scan in Dallas until 10PM on the 18th.

And this is why I hate the internet.  Because I know where my package is and I have to wait.  It was so much easier in the old days without minute to minute tracking updates so I could be oblivious and simply have a surprise at my door.

Mine did something like that. It apparently teleported from Mesquite, TX to Roanoke, VA because there was neither exit scan from Mesquite or receipt scan at Roanoke. I did get my package within a few days of it getting to Mesquite, though.

It just occurred to me that this kind of stuff is why they named it Quantum View.  It's tunneling in action on a macro scale.

No wonder shipping is getting so expensive.

Your suggestion--that UPS leaves packages in a warehouse until random chance takes over and they tunnel to another location--would explain a lot about international shipping. Like how infrequently it seems to occur. And the low probability of everything getting where it's supposed to be the first time around.

That would save so much fuel!

Unless it needs some fuel tanks next to the warehouse to happen.. And the energy required is simply siphoned off those, in the same quantum tunnelling process..

    Nah, that's Schrödinger's Bones.

Hmm, when I receive my package I don't know if it will have mispacks in it.. And the process of checking has a nonzero chance of me loosing parts. Schrödinger's  mispack!

  6. So I posted a link to a song that Rhett and Link did about BBQ back in the RCon thread, and I'll repost it here. The first thing you need to know is that they are a pair of internet comedians and song writers. So the BBQ Song they did certainly has a bit of tongue in cheek, and isn't meant to be 100% accurate. However, it has a a lot of really good base information about the variations of styles and cuts used in BBQ across the southern US.

If you really want to dig deeper into BBQ, Alton Brown did a fabulous Good Eats episode called Right on Q that covers a lot of what BBQ really is. If you are serious about good 'que, I recommend watching it. There are also some mailing lists out there that have a ton of experienced pit masters that can offer up tips on all sorts of BBQ-related topics.

Finally, if you want to talk BBQ theory, I'll be glad to take to task some of the common misconceptions and horrible practices that some people do to their 'que (chief among them, soaking wood chips and adding anything other than water to a water pan).

EDIT: BBQ pics, just because. ::):

Wow, that looked so great, yummy and sounded like a great social thing :)

  7. I got a wave 2! I just can't wait! :D

EB here too, decent chance to get an email notification today if all goes smoothly I figure. Order #458 in the PM and backer #7 on the KS :D

I'm also working the night shift today so it'd be a welcome distraction if it happens.

Working the night shift, or sitting around checking mail? ;)

Any thought about the mailing time to Norway? :)
