A while ago I was on a Beast-People kick, and promised more beast-fellas! But I don't remember delivering until now. Behold, the mighty Sabertooth Tiger man, 02785. He is enormous! (The lynx is a Bombshell Companion) Here's a comparison with S'kara, last seen here. You can see the tusky boy is huge! A more gracile feline is this Rogue from Nolzur's. She's accompanied by two rat-bastards, Ver-Men from Blacktree. One of them is clearly a magic-user, the other some sort of violence specialist. The ratties had minor appearances in Boren Backslap's tale, but not a good front-and-center showoff if I recall. I really need to run a Feywild game to get some of these on the table.

I promise, at some point I'll learn to take better pics... and hopefully paint better too. These are what I got painted this month, and it was all for the RCL (can't check anything off my personal bingo card challenge, but that's ok). Up first, the trio I did with @Kuroneko and @Thoramel. We did the Pathfinder Goblin Warchanter, and each modified it a little bit. I did a fairly simple conversion, as when I looked at the model I envisioned a goblin jumping rope, so I cut away the sword in her left hand, bent the whip down to join with putty, and resculpted parts of her hand and hair. It underwent two revisions: (1) I wanted goblin madness, so the flames on the ground came about (sculpted with some Liquitex Flex Paste) and (2) while painting the rope, I wanted even more madness, so I changed it from a normal rope color to trying to make it looked like she had just ripped a length of her latest victim's intestine out to use for her rope. For a duo with @Maledrakh, I painted Aviriel Tellerion. Nothing really special about her, I just wanted to practice some eyes, and a Werner Klocke sculpt is always good for that. My big regret is that I forgot to put some shading around the eye socket, but lesson to remember for the next mini. Lastly, I tried to paint up a tribute to my late feline buddy Gabe for a large group with @Thoramel @Kuroneko @Inarah and @Maledrakh. It didn't turn out as I wanted, Gabe's fur coloring was a challenge. This is nothing close to what he looks like, but I gave it my best shot. I tried some wetblending, it went horribly wrong, tried some other things that also went wrong, but it was a learning experience. So here is not-Gabe. Thanks for looking.

02785: Sabertooth Tiger Man The WIP: 02785: Sabertooth Tiger Man Buckler and base Conversion for the Sabertooh Tiger Man Brothers Of Tooth And Claw Sige -------- Barton -------- Pa'oul -------- Dagmar Dust of the Colosseum - Part 2 The bars of the gate… blood stained: What they hold back is The Dagmar of the Jungle. Four guards stand in wait for the signal. Spears trained on the beast, none of them will be lazy again after the last time. In his cell The Dagmar stood trying to talk to his guard, “Why are you watching over me?†The guard’s eyes glanced toward the naked beast man. “No answer… I’veff had many of dayss in the bloods of my enemiess, today I'm bound to destroy peoples I do not knows… Grind-my-tooths, this’s not honorable, not best for anyone but this king… Blahh! I swear upon my brethren I will see my tooth an' claw upon his fresh beating heart!†The guards glance turned into rage. Pressing into the bars the guard rattled the cage out of anger over the words spoken about his king. “That is the King of… AHhh gahh," taking advantage of this opportunity, Dagmar reached with both hands grabbing the guard. In one swift movement the guards head was sheared off from his body and his abdomen splayed open. Standing behind the bars Dagmar leans into his stance every muscle tense for the trumpets call. The spears of the guards ticking the fur on the beast man’s back... _____________________________________________________________________________________ This Buckler is my first attempt at free hand. It is suppose to match the design on the hilt of the sword. The face is a new endeavor as well: Those are Whiskers... from my own hair. What do you'll think, yah or nah? I was particularly proud of the wet blending on the fur. I would really enjoy hearing back from you guys about ways to improve. C&C Welcome! :) :) :)

BACK: Highlight Orange mixed with a little GW: Vomit Brown (3:1) Transition:: GW: Vomit Brown CHEST: Pure white mixed with GW: Vomit Brown - just a touch to dull the white. Sabertooth Tiger Man Buckler & Base

02785: Sabertooth Tiger Man The WIP Brothers Of Tooth And Claw __________________________________________________________________________________________ I decided that my next miniature looked like he was missing something... a shield and he is so top heavy he kept falling over. So I hand made him both and here is how I did it. I found an interesting stencil that had this square hooked rain drop design on it. I cutt it out then carving and rounded off the edges. I also had to scoop out the center a little to allow it to fit flush with his hand. I then used wielders putty to extend the rope to the arm. This method added COMPLETE stability to the figure and gave me more room to add sand. Thank you for reading!- 1 reply
