  1. Sobek was a complex crocodile god of the ancient Egyptians. He was god of fertility, wild sexytimes and strength, and also a protector against the ravages of the river Nile and its inhabitants. The khopesh was a kind of ancient Egyptian sword evolved from a battle axe. The one on this sculpt is a little thicker and more swordlike than most of the ones I've seen, which makes it sturdier on a miniatures scale. The figure is Reaper's 14381, Nefsokar Devourer of Ammat, sculpt by Bob Ridolfi. I didn't make a WIP thread. I was halfway done with him before I realized that he was supposed to be a stone statue with cracks and chips in the stone. Maybe another time I will paint a version of him like that, but in this case I overlooked the texture and painted him with fairly realistic crocodile and corroded bronze colors. And because I like to play around with photography and backgrounds:
  2. My partner this time around was SamuraiJack, so if you haven't check your mail yet stop reading! I'll edit in some tags later, but for now no spoilers!
  3. These are the minis that Tosek painted for me for Secret Sophie. These are the pictures that he took that are way better than the quick ones I took at the kitchen table. I loved everything he sent me and will post pictures of the other goodies once I return home but wanted to show off these painted ones now! They are Nefsokar Devourer of Ammat (14381), Khadath, Nefsokar Captain (14064), and Tomb Guard (14370). They are so cool!
  4. Trying to work on my metallics and this gave me a nice big detailed sword to practice with. All in all this went fairly quick for me. Always fun deciding what to paint next, usually depends on how much I am willing to assemble. I love when I don't have to glue or putty anything like this alligator dude.
