I timed my one order of reapers 12 days of Christmas 2014 to get this figure. She sat on my shelf of shame (unfinished) for at least a month or two. Hmm thought I fixed the detail on that axe. I may need an updated picture. I really wanted to put pants or a shirt on a barbarian obviously from the cold north, but it just didn't look right.

It's time for our next forum miniature exchange. If you've never done an exchange before, how it works is like this: Everyone who is interested PMs me with the questionnaire below filled out. I then match you with a person whom you will paint a mini for, and usually a second person whom you will receive a painted mini from (sometimes it's the same person). You have until the deadline to send your mini out (though we tend to be fairly lax about enforcing deadlines; remember it's supposed to be fun!). That's pretty much it, feel free to PM me with questions. So, without further ado... The Rules 1. Reaper minis are the focus. If you want to paint more than one miniature, you may do so. If you wish to include other gifts for your recipient, you may do so, but please keep them small. There is no hard and fast rule, but keeping the value less than the price of a single miniature is a good rule of thumb. The focus of the exchange should be a Reaper product. 2. Please don't contact your partner unless they have listed themselves as okay with contact. I've included it on the questionnaire, so you'll know who wants to keep it secret and who doesn't. 3. Try really hard to get your miniature out by the deadline. Let me know if you are going to be late. 4. If you are mailing internationally and plan to send more than just the one painted miniature, you must contact your recipient to get any "bonus items" approved. We don't want any trouble with customs. 5. Have fun! Deadline The deadline to mail out miniatures for this exchange will be three months from now, on August 15th. Assignments Deadline I will send the assignments out in two weeks (May 29th). Please let me know if you're interested by the 27th. I can't make any guarantees if you're late, but I will try to make arrangements. Exchange Assistant I am looking for an assistant to help me run this exchange, or to take over if I should suddenly disappear. Duties will include assigning matches and tracking exchanges for half the participants. Figure Exchange Questionnaire -Mailing Infomation- Name: Address: -Miniature Information- What you can paint (monsters, PCs, women, undead, demons, etc): What you want (Mouslings, necromancers, warriors, dual-wielders, etc): What you DON'T want (gross, nudity, undead, kobolds, animals, etc): Material you want to receive? Bones, Resin, Metal, or Any Desired Color Scheme (for those who want something for their army)?: Scenic Base, basic base, plain base, or unbased?: Would you be willing to have multiple exchange partners?: -Personal Information- Will you ship internationally?: Would you like to remain anonymous until your mini is sent?: Would you like to know who is painting for you?: Is there anybody you would prefer not to paint for (please include why)?: Special Requests (For me, your painter, or your recipient):

With the successful completion of the Summer Exchange (modulus a few remaining packages), it's time to ramp up for fall! This exchange will be on a slightly tighter timeframe than usual so that we have room for the Secret Sophie gift exchange at the end of the year. Signups will run from September 1 to September 10, with the assignments going out no later than September 15th. You will have two months (not the usual three) to mail your miniature out. If you've never done an exchange before, how it works is like this: Everyone who is interested PMs me with the questionnaire below filled out. I then match you with a person whom you will paint a mini for, and a second person whom you will receive a painted mini from (sometimes it's the same person). You have until the deadline to send your mini out (though we tend to be fairly lax about enforcing deadlines; remember it's supposed to be fun!). If you are mailing internationally and plan to send more than just the one painted miniature, you must contact your recipient to get any "bonus items" approved. We don't want any trouble with customs. 5. Have fun! Deadline The deadline to mail out miniatures for this exchange will be two months from when assignments are sent out, on November 15th. Assignments Deadline I will send the assignments out in two weeks (September 15th). Please let me know if you're interested by the 10th. I can't make any guarantees if you're late, but I will try to make arrangements. Exchange Assistant ub3r_n3rd will be helping me run this exchange. He will coordinate and communicate with approximately half the participants. You can contact either of us if you have any questions or issues. Figure Exchange Questionnaire -Mailing Infomation- Name: Address: -Miniature Information- What can you paint? What do you want to receive? What DON'T you want to receive? What material you want to receive? Do you have a particular color scheme in mind? What style of basing would you prefer? Would you be willing to have multiple exchange partners? NEW QUESTION: Please give your partner some inspiration, especially if you have very few preferences above. -Personal Information- Will you ship internationally? Would you like to know who is painting for you? Would you like your partner to know who is painting for them? Is there anybody you would prefer not to paint for? (please include why) -Special Requests- For the organizer, your painter, or your recipient:

I wasn't too sure where to put these, so I'll put them here. These two aren't the best photographs, just the best I can do now. There are 35 Miniatures in the case. I have painted over 100 mini's this year, so I am happy with about 25 percent of my output now, I am sure that I will not be happy with some of these by next year. So here are two photos of my wall display case. Lets make 2015 our best year of painting !

Please join in showing off your 2014 painting efforts. I painted several groups of minions this year, including zombies, skeletons and spiders. This really helped boost the mini count. Edit: I painted 101, I think I have every mini in this photo. So, as you may or may not have seen in the Summer Exchange thread, I painted up a Bathalian for RobinH. I included a note that had most of my thoughts/directions (or lack there of) with it, so I think I'll just post a bunch of pictures, and post part of the note below. Lots of pictures (and loads more I didn't put here) - I'm pretty happy with how it turned out overall, even if there's a few rough patches (I really should have painted the hand/book BEFORE it was attached to the muchroom). And now for my novella, for perspective, it's directed toward RobinH (in case you wonder who "you" is): Spoiler tags because WALL O' TEXT ETA - as you can see in RobinH's photos (in the Exchange thread) I patched up the black on the base after I took pictures - I didn't notice it was scuffed up before I took the photos.

dispatchdave is unable to run the next miniature exchange, so I'll be stepping in for this one. (I'm stealing much of the text from previous exchanges for this post) Now that Secret Sophie 2013 has wrapped up, it's time for our next forum miniature exchange. If you've never done an exchange before, how it works is like this: Everyone who is interested PMs me with the questionnaire below filled out. I then match you with a person whom you will paint a mini for, and usually a second person whom you will receive a painted mini from (sometimes it's the same person). That's pretty much it, feel free to PM me with questions. So, without further ado... The Rules 1. Reaper minis are the focus. If you want to do more, go for it, but the focus of the exchange should be a Reaper product. 2. Please don't contact each other unless you and your person both have listed themselves as okay with contact. I've included it on the questionnaire, so you'll know who wants to keep it secret and who doesn't! 3. Try really hard to get your miniature out by the deadline. Let me know if you are going to be late. 4. Have fun! Deadline The deadline for this exchange will be three months from now, on April 30th. If both you and your exchange partner will attending ReaperCon, you can give it to them in person! Assignments Deadline I will send the assignments out in two weeks (February 14th). Please let me know if you're interested by the 12th. Now that ReaperCon (my first!) is over, I'd love to know what people thought about it, especially versus other years. I know I had a blast! Bring on the good, the bad, and the ugly.

So the husbandish and I are trying to make plans to come to RC '14 and I can't find any of the informational threads about RC '13. I assume they were deleted or archived which means I need some help from you guys. What hotel(s) are used by most people attending? What hotel was used by Reaper for some of the events of RC? When does check in start? What is the start time/day of activities? When do most people get there? What is the end time of activities? It's looking like we'll be able to make a 2 week vacation (road trip) out of the con so I want to make sure we are looking at reserving rooms at the right hotel. (anyone out there that might want to share a room with a guy that snores??) TIA for the help!!

I was planning on severely cutting down on my kickstarter backing this year due to... reasons. However there are some very tempting upcoming projects. At this point I don't know if I'll be able to back any, or for how much, but here's my list anyway. Counterblast by Patrick Keith & company: Pulp Scifi with rules and minis minis minis. I've backed each of Patricks previous kickstarters, love his sculpting, and am looking forward to seeing this launch. Creature Caster: From the folks who founded UltraForge. Known for their centre piece minis. Renaissance Miniatures Pirate Terrain: Still in the design stages but looking good for release later this year. Docks, wharfs, Caribbean styled buildings, and Pirate ships. All done by laser cutter. The early prototypes are looking very nice. Those are the three I'm most looking forward to. Of course there's alway a chance we'll see something from Reaper although nothing's been announced or hinted at. Darksword, Mantic, and Larry Elmore's black & white sketch book are other possible projects out before the end of the year. Edit: And of course anything Stonehaven does will be a must have. So... What is your list looking like? Edited for fumblesome posting.
