  1. Howdy, Finally got around to her... Thank you, Kev!
  2. Hey all! Got this resin fig at ReaperCon 2016 and decided to base him using a Basius basing pad with some swampy/murky/creepy terrain. My goal was to emphasize that this disciple is unconcerned with his cleanliness, and is a deadly foe. I managed to work up a color scheme that speaks to faded Christmas colors which led me into an adventure idea wherein this summoner is bringing a twisted version of Krampus into existence for the holidays
  3. It's safe to say I had an amazing year. I learned so much in 2016 and hopefully I can learn more in 2017 and continue to improve. These pictures are in no particular order. Edit: Oops, I just noticed that 11 of the first 18 minis I actually painted this year, in January. This is why I should have put this post together sooner. Oh well. Less those minis, the rest I painted in 2016.
  4. A wee bit late, here is a visual roundup of the miniatures I painted in the 2016 calendar year. I got off to a rapid start by attacking my Shelf of Shame in January, finishing 39 half-started figures by the end of the month: The whole Scooby Gang, female magicians and pirates, a small squad of driders, a few good monsters, some utterly enchanting Tom Meier elves, and some useful fantasy, modern, and sci fi characters. Things slowed down considerably after that, but I got some good work done in several pulses. Chaoswolf's lovely Box O' Goodwill project dropped some old school lead i
  5. This is the only mini I finished in December of 2016, but at least it was a larger figure.... Otherworld Miniatures Iron Golem (SKU DM32d) on a 2 inch diameter Reaper base. He is painted using mostly metallic paints.
  6. Here is a group of speed painted bones skeletons I painted back in February. I spent maybe 4 hours total on all of them. I am still planning on adding some plant materials to the base. Skeletal Spearmen (77001) Skeletal Archers (77017) Skeletal Swordsmen (77018) All the bones skeletons I have painted so far: And all the skeletons I have ever painted, because I love me some group shots. The ones in front (and back) was painted over 20 years ago, before I started basing. Miniatures from Grenadier, Ral Partha, Rafm and of course Reaper.
  7. This is the bones version of Pathfinder Seelah, Iconic Human Paladin (Reaper Bones SKU 89011). this is another on I finished in November 2016, but didn't get around to taking pictures until now. There were some issues with the bones material on this one, the nose was flattened a bit plus there was some pitting. I was happy with the freehand, its a bummer it is off center. But she is good enough for tabletop, and she is off the Shelf of Shame.
  8. This is the classic Ral Partha Hippogriff (SKU 11-441) from the awesome Dungeons and Dragons line. I finished this up in November last year, I just got around to taking pictures.
  9. An overview of my efforts in 2016. Thanks to you all liking, commenting and chatting I've become more productive. Also I feel like I'm improving. Thank you all for your input and silliness. 10. After being rushed to the hospital complaining of breathing problems while making funeral plans for her daughter - Carrie Fisher who died as a result of a heart attack which happened last Friday and passed away yesterday - Debbie Reynolds has passed away from a stroke. She was 84. 2016 is going out with a bang, crazy this last week... glad I'm not a celebrity!
  11. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18286723/long-turner-sports-broadcaster-craig-sager-dies-age-65 Being a sports fan, Craig was a staple amongst the Turner stations & such. 2016 you are such a monster. Probably the best way to show him in his environment: RIP Mr Sager

  14. CAV: Strike Operations at ReaperCon 2016! For this year’s ReaperCon I’ve decided to try something a little different than what we have done at in the past. Rather than schedule “hard†events at specific times we will running a variety of events throughout the entirety of the convention so people can come and go as their schedule permits. We found this format worked really well at CAVCon and am excited to see how it goes at ReaperCon 2016! This year’s events will include: Featured Organized Play Event CAV: Strike Operations “The Battle of New Vesta†Malick Pass
  15. Been working on a few big stompy robot designs since June, with an eye towards making my own independent faction for CAV, but also making them generic enough to be used elsewhere. This is the first one I've picked to work up fully as a ReaperCon entry, and be printable from a more-or-less standard 3D printer. The thing I've found is that curved shapes in the vertical axis really don't look that good. Too many "steps" as the shape is sliced into flat slivers. So, the trick was to print all the curves and other angled items along the plane of the print bed. Here's what the CAD looks like (PTC Cr
  16. For those that don't do Facebook. From Reapers FB page: Sculpted by Bob Ridolfi based on art by Izzy "Talin" Collier and available at ReaperCon in October.

  18. Do you want to Run a Game? By Game, we mean Any RPG, any board game, card game, or miniatures game for which you need table space and up to 6 chairs. We are making a few changes to how we register games you'd like to run. This year we have a link on the Reapercon.com website for events to be submitted. It will reduce the amount of time I'll need to spend on follow up and provide all the information Bryan needs to get your items listed on the Con Site. https://reapercon.com/submit_games Until we approve your completed form, please do not solicit for players as your event is not conf
  19. Since real life seems to have caught up to our Resident Sith Moderator, (Was that you Jedi Hamster??? ), I thought that I would put up a temporary post so folks could put there stuff up, and a mod could move it all around later. I have no Idea what bonus and challenges his devious mind had planned, so lets just go with 4 minis this month, until otherwise informed.... George
  20. We just passed the halfway point of 2016, so I'm posting a quick roundup of what I have painted so far this year. I started the year with my Conga Line of Doom, clearing out some shelves of shame. Finished minis include: Reaper's Racquel Blackrose, Buccanneer, a Hasslefree Japanese woman assassin, a couple of Reaper's great old Sandra Garrity female magic users: Mishka the Mystic and Katarina the Invoker, an Egyptian-style flame sorcerer, both of whom I painted as somewhat older women, Hasslefree's not-Willow-from-"Buffy", Hasslefree's entire Scooby Gang, a great big not-Lolth (turned aro

  23. I took pictures of many of the Crystal Brush entries at Adepticon earlier this month. The photos are not always the greatest quality, sorry, but since so many didn't make it onto the official site I figured this is better than not seeing them. There are so many beautiful paint jobs and assemblages! There's an entire album on Photobucket here (mild nudity in one photo). Here are just a few: ETA: Swapped out one picture because of nudity.
  24. I was at Adepticon in the Chicago area earlier this month. I took pictures. The whole album (except for Crystal Brush entry photos) is here, and here are some to look at: The legendary Julie Guthrie and Bob Ridolfi! The Reaper Paint 'N' Take: I took one picture of my work.I brought "Black Moon's Bane", the spelljammer, and a group of my painted minis. I also took Crystal Brush photos in a separate file. Photobucket is being a little wonky, but if I can get them straightened out I will post them by tomorrow. There were so many beautifully painted mini
