  1. Generally not impressed, likely to be my only purchasesin this line. Not close to terrain in quality. Edgerunners set G ( missing right arm for exec 3, waiting to hear back from MFC) Edgerunners F primed, media glued Rockerboys Guitarist leg broken in pack, waiting to hear back. Looks too small to pin for me and won't glue on its own Keytarist primed manager glued
  2. Hold on to your butts... This thread is going to be sizable because I'm starting my HeroQuest core box (Mythic Tier). The expansions will get their own threads, which should be much shorter (as there are far fewer minis). I've already started painting and have (nearly) completed many doors, and made significant progress on the bookshelves and cabinet. In an effort to get me to finish Tyrants of Lothal (an ongoing issue), I am forcing myself to complete the boring scenery elements first. Which means doors. Lots of doors. And, when you've finished with the doors, you realize that you need to do some more doors. Where's Jim Morrison when you need him? Except as noted, the paints on the scenery are Delta Ceramcoat. No exceptions yet, but maybe on the bookshelves... I would like to take this opportunity to not thank the individual that decided we needed vines on the doors. It doesn't really show in the pictures, but I've used a medium green (Medium Foliage Green, to be specific) on some of the vines. Khaki has been used on the others. I have another door or two that were trimmed from the pictures, but you get the idea. The stone has been set up with Black, Charcoal, Deep Taupe, Rain Grey, and White. Start iwith Black, Charcoal or Deep Taupe and then work up through the next two colors with a solid drybrushing. So much drybrushing. And still eight doors to be done. I felt that I needed something a little more interesting than simple stone for the keystones, and since this is a magical realm I figured that maybe a mad wizard might have spells worked into the doors to keep him informed of what has happening and give him a chance to taunt the heroes at inappropriate times--just like Zargon's twitter feed. So I decided to use Gold instead of more black/grey stone. I am looking for a good metallic on the iron bands and rings. Silver is just too bright. The wood was done with yet more drybrushing. Starting with a base of either Black, Chocolate Cherry, or Burnt Sienna and then working up eventually to Golden Brown or Khaki. It seems to work pretty well. The same theory from the doors works with the bookshelves and cupboard. I'm thinking about using some color on the scroll work--some sort of gilding, maybe. The hinges and handles on the cupboard will get a similar treatment to the hinges and handle on the doors--once I figure out exactly what that is. I'm about nine hours into the doors, and three into the bookshelves and cupboard. Now to finish some of these doors so I can work on some of those other doors.
  3. Not my absolute best work, but at this stage I'm just trying to get things painted and table-worthy rather than shooting for showpieces. Since I sort of half-assed (maybe 2/3-assed) this one, I've broken up the mental constipation that was keeping me from painting and now I'm happily back at the desk and perfectly glad to announce that good enough is good enough. I'm hardly the first person to view this "demonic lasher" / demogorgon as a sort of Barlgura-plus, so I used the same colors (reaper highlight orange, twilight blue) on the face as I do for my orange monster monkeys. Torso is the cool greens triad, chest is the undead flesh triad. Base is craft paint along with scattered broken bits from the foolish heroes who tried to stand in this fiend's way.
  4. So here's what I painted in 2021. Lots of 3D printed stuff since I love to print minis now. With links to their respective threads. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/94276-oni-grunt-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-1991695 https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/94275-elise-the-witch-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/94533-earth-tremor-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-1995855 https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/94704-visbaronetess-delour-aulamaxa-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-1998522 https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/94788-queen-sthenaria-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-1999924 https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/94808-kerilith-lair-guardian-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-2000095 https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/94955-goraku-twoheaded-oni-mage-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95173-serpent-summoner-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-2006253 https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95451-gryphkin-archer-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95532-swamp-crocodile-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95577-senliah-the-seductress-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95668-taloc-kroq-gar-on-pyramid-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95725-vampire-hunters-steamwagon-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-2015308 https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95870-travelling-the-underdark-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95906-guarding-the-temple-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95908-inix-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/95980-aline-the-bold-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/96113-jakob-knochengard-03785-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/96810-dark-souls-characters-and-core-troops-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/97126-lilith-and-her-killer-dolls-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/97332-pack-dino-with-arabian-rider-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/97509-vampire-hunter-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/97752-sacrificial-pond-by-glitterwolf/
  5. I've been wanting a few quick space saving buildings for war gaming. I decided to make a few false fronts, but use a simplified biscuit (instead of a tab like many paper models) to make them free standing. Rolling out the brick pattern would help. These would be for my foam boards (insert link here sometime). But it turns out my plan of 3 row buildings (8.25x 6 )with separate corner pieces isn't going to fit. Need to decide whether to split up into 2 building pieces (5.5 in long x 6 in high) or do corner and 1 building and have them connect. I also now need figure out whether to plan for an alley when I didn't in my boards. Hmm. Stay tuned.
  6. I got few pieces to add to my previous set due to SW closing. Here's my WIP thread for all of them. These most recent pieces start on p5.
  7. I have a set of walks ways and stairs, and some other stuff coming in summer, so I'll keep it all here. Today was base coats. Tomorrow will be drybrush snd details.
  8. My kid loves stealing my dice. So I'm painting some High Rollers as a bday gift later this summer. Kid is not old enough to paint with a brush yet. Day 1 was saturday - priming and base coats on the bases and D'Tenian. Maybe my first painting this year?
