  1. We currently have a second Kickstarter live at the moment, entitled Starship II - 3D printable OpenLOCK-compatible Deck Plans. The campaign is already over 1300% financed, and we are working on the 8th Stretch Goal. If you have a 3D printer, these tiles can really bring your tabletop experience to life, with a strong influences from the designs of Rob Cobb and Kazutaka Miyatake. 2. got a 3D printer, or access to a friends, or one at a library or university this might be for you About With this project I will be bring you a collection of Sci-Fi Vehicles and Artillery to be used in whatever tabletop game you choose. With more vehicles being added as stretch goals are hit. All sculpts will be supplied as 3d printable STL files. Why am I doing this project? My passions are sculpting, 3d printing and wargames. I wanted to be able to field the sort of armys I wanted without breaking the bank. So I started sculpting the sort of models I needed. After sculpting qui
  3. As if I didn't already have so many projects in progress I can't count, I kept looking at the case of Bones IMEF figures, and thought "These guys need something that can take out a few NOVA Corp Tycho AFVs." This concept was born: I am shooting for it to be about the size of a GW Land Raider. Going to block it out in Fusion 360 soon.
  4. So I've long wanted a unique hover tank/APC to go with all my NOVA Corp figures, and last night I was suddenly inspired to create one. Here are my results so far: This is just the left half of the lower hull. Once I finish detailing it with the things I want to be symmetrical, I will mirror it, and then add additional detailing, and a turret. I'm creating this in Fusion 360, and from there I'll export it for printing on my 3d printer. I have no idea if I'll ever get around to painting it, as I still don't have my NOVA Corp soldiers painted beyond a base coat, though. We'll have to wa
  5. I'm working on a Christmas gift for a D&D playing friend. It's basically a "banner" of 3d letters spelling out a favorite phrase of hers, but each letter is embedded with D&D themed pictures. I've put a hidden meaning in this letter, but I want to see if it's too obvious, or too subtle. Can you get it?
  6. Hi all! I haven't posted here in a while as I had to take a break from painting to do some remodeling on my house. That was two years ago. Finally able to get back to this hobby I love so I wanted to organize my paint desk some. I designed some paint racks to store my mini paints and figured that someone else might benefit from them as well. I posted them on Thingiverse for all to use. Totally free and open source!! I am adding to them as people ask for additional brands of paint and other configurations. If anyone prints them and needs some changes or additional options ju
  7. We are live on our Third kickstarter, this one focuses on fantasy cultures and gives them each unique tiles that are 3d printable and you can make those very specific dungeon encounters or city role playing sessions. We also have some new Beasties that will be 3d print compatible! We hope you will join us, with 2 kickstarters on our belt we are confident that our record will be to your satisfaction if you are a new backer, and if you have already been with us you already know what to expect!
  8. So I took a commission to paint some minis for a tabletop game. I didn't even think to ask what material they were made from. I get them, and they're 3D printed. Have any of you primed and painted this stuff? It's fairly high quality for 3D printing, but there are extremely slight striations. I am hoping that primer will smooth it out, but now I'm concerned with how the primer will react to this material. I have already seen what happens to the GW plastic when someone else applied the spray primer too close, so I'm thinking the safest thing might be brush on. Any advice or he

  10. Hello! I have a question on the upcoming ReaperCon this year. For the Master series paint open contest rules on the page https://reapercon.com/contestI could not find anything regarding personally designed Models that an artist 3D prints and then paints. for use as an example: That is my first attempt at a model I personally designed in Blender, and then printed, in the style of warhammer 40k, though as a mention I really like the look of the grav-flux bombard from forgeworld so I created a very close facsimile of it for my model. Under the rules I'm seeing I'm assuming that

  13. I finally broke down and bought a 3d printer to play with. After a lot of reviews and investigation, and a long wait time, I finally found myself with a Prusa Mk2 from Prusa's company in Cz republic. the machine came fully assembled and even the very first print was pretty. (a very cute little treefrog) I have since printed a bunch more frogs and Adelaine the dragon (who thinks she's a wolf howling at the moon). and a lot of roadway prints from Fat dragons latest kickstarter As I said the prints are really nice even at the fastest speeds (which are not fast but such is the life of 3d

  15. >>Frame-Werx<< offer files for Laser-Cutting or 3D-Printing. Out of these files it is possible to make buildings with roof or not. For Fantasy, modern or SciFi games. 3" SUARE BASED GAMES: or OPEN TABLETOP GAMES: As an addon are also incl. files to make buildings for smaller grid games such as: Arcadia Quest, Masmorra, Super Dungeon Explore and others. I find this interesting, but I'm not sure how much it will cost to get these printed or laser-cutted, so I need to find out about it in my area where I live.

  17. On the Shapeways 3D printing online marketplace I found a shop called Pretty Small Things which sells prints of actual vintage furniture at 1:24 and 1:48 scale. 1:48 is model railroad O scale. It's a tad large for 28mm scale. But only a tad. And those chairs look great.
  18. I've seen a few people posting up that they've gotten some 3D printers and are doing some projects with them, just saw this come across one of my social media feeds today and thought I'd share as it's mini-related. Free for download! The 3D Printer instructions for the Chandra X-Ray Observatory.
