  1. I have yet to unpack the Elegoo Mars. However I installed Chitubox. I have now loaded files. As recommended on Youtube I filled the bed with several minis to print. And I laid them flat to speed up the printing process and tilted them a little. Test subjects: Snake Warrior Cobra ( with base) Bat Demon Small Foo Dog statues Asian Ghost Oni in three parts. Added the automated supports.
  2. Hello folks! I hope you're doing well. My latest painted mini : a golem of woes by Rocket Pig Games. I loved this mini as soon as I first saw it. I just HAD to paint it. It's a fun concept and the tormented faces were an absolute delight to paint. 🙂
  3. I got this guy as part of a batch of misprints from one of the 3D vendors at Reapercon last year. They were going to throw them away, but we got to talking, and once they found out I do conversions, they offered them to me as spare parts. His weapon was broken off and missing, so I gave him a replacement from the weapon sprues that Reaper made a few Kickstarters ago. The base is do 3D printed; I bought a bunch at Reapercon. Let me know what you think, please.
  4. More like "Cosplay" Pirate Girls, but what the heck! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pirate-girls/pirate-girls-for-3d-printing/description WELCOME TO THE PIRATE GIRLS CAMPAIGN! FUNDED IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! This is a project to fund 3d files to print Pirate Girls in miniature. The girls are 4 models in 5 different outfit (20 figures) that will be unlocked and shown daily for you to discover them. All the figures will be delivered in scales 35 mm and 75 mm. In adition to that, each girl has a 1:12 scale bust. That makes a total of 44 miniatures! All the files are delivered supported and unsupported for normal printers and split in pieces to print. They will be delivered as soon as KS finishes and they process the payments. Easy peasy! For questions, DM us or comment. Note that the figures are Not physical miniatures, they are 3d files for printing. NEW MINIATURES UNLOCKED DAILY!
  5. Hi, I want to start this to get me motivated to get some accountability and hopefully guilt myself into working. So here is the very first of hopefully many steps. The first step is to prime the miniature, I've done that, the 2nd step? To photograph the miniature to capture the volumes of real light that shows where I want my light source. For this I want two light sources. So really that means I just used my computer screen and my ceiling light, adjust the miniature to taste and get the angle I want to set the light. The screen light is whiter and will be the light from outside the window, the yellower ceiling light will be my tavern fire light and will be the primary light source. The skin will be fairly shiny so this is pretty much a mandatory process to get those realistic sheens....because I'm literally stealing form reality it helps a lot. If I were a better painter I could fake the light sources with enough knowledge. Thankfully I have some serious shadows on the model, and my mid tones will have a lot of room for blending. The problem now? Picking my colors. What do I know? I know the floor is wood colored and the axe/haft materials I know that I'm going to want off white and pinks for eye whites and gums teeth etc. The gold of the primer is actually a really beautiful color for a fantasy creature, so I might see if I can't keep that. So Gold, pink, whites/off whites, and browns, I don't know if I want a two toned or patterned beholder. I think this is gonna be a challenge whatever I do. I think I want to go for a fleshy color
  6. Wanted to try my hand at something a little different and bigger so I found something fun that I knew my daughter would appreciate. I got a ton of hugs for it today, so I must have done alright. Prime and initial zenithal was done by airbrush and in keeping with my current process a lot of acrylic mini paints (Vallejo, Reaper, WarColour and GW) glazed or dry brushed on followed by oil washes, then more acrylic dry brushes and then more oil washes. I LOVE Nightmare Black!! I wish I had kept it appart to paint it as the crossed legs made things complicated on more than a couple occasions. Also should have painted the neck area the same colour as her leotard…. Not sure but I think it would have been better. Base, cape, body and head were painted separately but I should have kept the hands, legs and boots to paint on their own. close up of the books. Doing the gold lettering AFTER I’d painted the rest of the base was not my best idea.. tried to give them a worn look. lastly a quick shot of the base WIP with a Chaos Marine volunteer for scale. thanks for looking.
  7. Of the many busts I’ve printed/purchased lately, this one won out on the priority list. Basecoats and metallics are a mix of acrylics (Reaper and Vallejo) and then a ton of layered oils with some subsequent acrylic highlights again. Painted the eyes very faintly and then “washed them out” to give them that milky look but I feel I went too far as the iris/pupils are pretty much gone. Otherwise, I’m quite happy with him other than the missed support nubs inside his “crown” that will taunt me forever. Thanks for looking.
  8. This is Miguel Zavala's redesigned Umber Hulk, printed on my Mars Pro and painted with Vallejo acrylics. It's a monster I haven't used much, if at all, in my own campaign, but my favourite character of old, Sir Fnord the Pretty Neat died of them twice, both times by having his head ripped clean off.
  9. I've got a dozen tiny minis to BUG you with today! A few months ago I purchased these Hell Wasp prints for use as giant flies in Rangers of Shadow Deep. The sculpts are from Rocket Pig Games and carefully printed at this delicate scale by K2C2 Creations. The tiny size came in a set of 12 so I painted them all a little different to get some variety. Giant Flies My original purpose for these guys was as flies in ROSD. To give them some stability and variety I based them on 20mm bases. In each set of 3, one got based standing, one got based leaning, and a third was placed on higher ground. This seemed to break up uniformity. I also painted to different styles of flies. The first was the House Fly These guys are mostly grey with a bit of brown fuzz on their backs. More photos beneath spoiler: The second set of flies was painted as Blow Flies These guys are a bit more green. Though having recently had an infestation of these guys, I wish I had made them more metallic. Yuck. More photo below: Hellwasps/Stirges Since I had so many of these guys, I decided to mix up the second half. One set got painted Red to work as Red Paper Wasps, or as decent Stirge stand-ins. I quite enjoy the little skull on the one base. More photos below: And the final group got painted in classic Yellow Jacket stripes. Bees? BEES! Ready for a deadly stinging encounter. More photos below: These guys were tiny and fragile and tedious. I kept them simple to get through them all and they still used up all my painting time for a month. Lost a few limbs while basing but hopefully the slightly larger bases will give me something easier to grab during games. I wish I had stood back more while working on these and upped the contrast. They're fine, but their details are so small that it would have been more worthwhile to get a stronger impact from arm's length. What use would you have for these little critters?
  10. Chrysoprasia aka Crazy Chrissie. Named for the Dr & Quinch character, going to be my alchemist in an upcoming horror game. The colour scheme was inspired by the elven tribes in the new Pathfinder expansion, Mwangi Expanse. The model was a 3d print, but all paints are Reaper. My first time ever both painting dark skin tones and using a wet palette. Overall quite happy with the result.
  11. Wasn't totally happy with how this came out. I wanted a reptilian version of a tiger pattern for stalking in the jungle. Colour scheme worked I think and overall it's a great model but it has some issues I struggled with. It's not symmetrical, the ridges and scales on each side are in different places and don't align making the patterning problematic. That coupled with the fact that some of the larger scales fade out and a lot of the smaller scales are almost indistinct took some of the fun out if it. Normally I enjoy doing scales and applying washes and dry rushing as well as picking out patterns on individual scales but this was hard work. Will still make the kids worry when it hits the tabletop though 🙂
  12. Aline The Bold from Artisan Guild 3D printed on my Elegoo Mars. WIP https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/92913-aline-the-bold-rogue-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-1968546 Not happy with this one, the primer made her gritty, it took me a long time to finally finish her. Oh well, another mini done, not my best stuff but her she is anyway.

  14. Design Taloc and Kroq-Gar: Lost Kingdom Design Tree Trunks : Artisan Guild Design Jungle Plants : PrintYourMonsters. Printed on Elegoo Mars. Skulls from Greenstuffworld. Flock from several companies. Water Effect: Vallejo Still Water. Part of my Lost World Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ ***************** When the Reptilians go to War they often bring their Beastmasters who command vicious creatures. But there is one who is the most fearsome of all, Taloc the Beastmaster is a formidable warrior himself wielding his ceremonial weapons there are few who can withstand him, but his mount is the most terrifying of all. Her name is Kroq-Gar and she's the largest Ancient One to be found in the Lost World. How it came to be that she chose to bond with Taloc nobody knows, but she did and Taloc only needs a gentle touch or whispered word and Kroq-Gar will do as he pleases. She can swallow a human whole. There are other terrible creatures in the Jungle, but even the mighty Carnosaur is no match for Kroq-Gar. With her spiked tail and huge teeth she can kill any creature and her back is protected by a spiked boney ridge. Taloc made sure to protect her even further by adding golden plates to her side and a headcrest. When Taloc and Kroq-Gar appear on the battlefield there is no doubt who will be victor. ***************** Many pics, hope you like her. Comments welcome. Some close ups of Taloc.
  15. Design by Heroes Infinite Printed on my Elegoo Mars. Senliah the Seductress part of my Shifting Sands Project WIP/PROJECT HERE: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/page/20/#comments The Sultan leaned back in his cushions, the room was almost dark, suddenly the fires lit up and the music started. Senliah stepped forth from the shadows and started her dance. He was enthralled, her moves, those curves, and the thrill of the danger while she danced with that large venomous serpent! Such a show! Aaaahhh his friends would be delighted to see her at the banquet he would host next week. Senliah had agreed to perform for him alone tonight to give him a taste of what they could expect. The Sultan couldn't keep his eyes from her, such grace such beauty and yet a hint of danger. Of course there were those who couldn't cope with her being so populair. Some even talked behind her back, spreading rumours that she danced in the forbidden Temple of Apophis! Rubbish! The Sultan thought, if anyone was caught spreading such gossip he would have that person beheaded, how dared they speak of such an innocent girl like that!
  16. Design by CastNPlay Printed on my Elegoo Mars Base is from MicroArtstudio. Part of my Lost World Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/page/169/#comments **************** David Attenborough's Voice Over: Nature can be cruel and especially so in the Jungle and Swamps of the Lost World. Huge predators roam this place so a smaller creature needs to be smart to survive. Here we can see the Common Swamp Crocodile, the poor creature would stand no chance when a T-Rex or a Spinosaurus would spot it. So it adapted to it's environment. It's behaviour reminds me a bit of that of the Hermit Crab, in a similar fashion this little crocodile finds himself a piece of rotten wood, preferably a treetrunk and sticks it's head in it. Then it rolls around in the fertile soil so mushrooms, grass and flowers will grow on it's hide. This way it will be invisible to the larger predators. Unfortunately, as we can see here, that tactic proves futile against the Amazone Warrior who is in dire need of a new purse.
  17. This is a miniature I've printed and painted before, Duncan Louca's Fleshwalker. Last time, I printed it at 50% of its designed size; this time I've done it full-size — it's very big — and I've gone for a blueish colour scheme rather than the browns I used last time. I've mounted it on three big 50mm steel washers, not because it needed to be based for stability, but rather to give it a bit of weight and to shift its centre of gravity right down. The blue skin is only modestly successful, and all the boils and sores have ended up looking more like internal molten magma or something rather than pus-filled lesions. Never mind. As always, Sergeant Measureby is present for scale, with his Spear of 5mm Increments.
  18. After 10 months, I finally dusted this off and finished it in an attempt to find some hobby mojo again. Dragon is from Artisan Guild and was printed on the elegoo Mars almost a year ago. Basecoated, drybrushed tan and then multiple washes layered before another quick drybrush and a final wash. It was printed in clear green resin and the eyes and crystals on the rock were simply given a layer of Tamiya Clear Green after the mask was removed. Crystals on the base are from Anarchy Models, again with a quick layer of Tamiya Clear green. Reaper base with some Vallejo texture paste. Thanks for looking.

  20. I've been working on a hugely modular spaceship wreckage system. The base set has 60+ parts but the entire project includes over 150 models. Lost colony: spaceship Graveyard is the ultimate starship wreckage system. It's all about customisation, fallen spacecraft and the fragments they leave behind. 22. I still don't have a great photography setup, so despite efforts, this is fairly washed out (pinks in the cheeks aren't as apparent as IRL, and the hair is dulled in the photos). But until I can get figures in for a photoshoot with a friend, these will do. Sloppy selfie with the inspiration for the figure setup, before I try to dye my hair back to normal. Been teal for 9 months now, and I miss my blonde. I painted the figure roughly as myself, instead of with ideal artistic combinations. The patch on the back isn't really the coolest, but that's our work group's logo (and a diagram of part of my PhD research). So it is a personal design, distinctly not artistic. Also dragon instead of weasel.... heh. Project was part of the Season 3 for the Vancouver Mini Painting Club TADA.

  24. Sangrariah - Vampire Ringleader from Raging Heroes Dark Carneval Set. 3D Printed on Elegoo Mars with Elegoo Grey Resin. WIP : https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79298-children-of-the-night-by-glitterwolf/ When his wife passed away, Baron von Leeresgehirn tried to raise his son by himself as good as he could. The young boy did well. Both villagers and nobles liked young Alaric, they had pity on his father though, the poor man could never forget his late wife, never remarried and never even longed for any woman. Years went by and Alaric was about to come of age. To celebrate, a huge feast was prepared and Alaric himself decided to take some friends with him on a hunting trip to provide meat for the feast. They rode into the woods, further and further, the Sun went down and they made camp. Sitting around the fire the friends drank, ate and made jokes, when suddenly a a loud scream was heard. Alarmed the men took up their swords and ran towards the direction the scream came from, another scream was heard and then nothing... They found an old abandoned hunter's hut, carefully they walked to the door, one of the men kicked it open. Holding a torch Alaric entered the hut, the scene before him sent a cold chill down his spine. A beautiful young woman sat on the floor, her back leaning against the wall, she was covered in blood, two dead men laid beside her, also drenched in blood. The poor girl looked at Alaric and whispered "help me" before she fainted. Alaric and his men took the girl to his father's Castle, no doubt those men were bandits ready to ravage her, surely they had gotten into a fight who got first turn and when the one killed the other the poor girl had taken her chance and plunged a dagger in the other bandit's throat. So brave and yet so fragile and beautiful, Alaric thought. For a few days the young woman rested in a spare room, Alaric had been visiting her every evening to see how she was doing and it seemed they liked each other. Alaric's father was proud of his son, and he figured the girl must be of noble birth given her dress she was found in. He hoped she would recover soon enough, he was a tad worried about Alaric, though, the boy seemed to look paler every day and he didn't even eat and drink anymore. Every night he was at the girl's side, oh to be young and in love again, the Baron thought. He had learned her name, Sangrariah, she would make a nice bride for Alaric if things went on as they seemed, the Baron thought. It would be nice to have a woman around the house again. That night the Baron was woken up by a sound, he looked up and saw Alaric and Sangrariah standing besides his bed. Oh, good! He said, you seem to be better! But ehh, why are you in my room? Sangrariah insisted to thank you for your hospitality Father, Alaric spoke in a trembling voice, the boy looked paler than ever and had he cut himself shaving? The Baron sat upright now in his bed when the young woman approched him, please My Lord, let me thank you with a kiss. Before he could resist the young woman embraced him, he felt a sharp pain in his neck, the poor inexperienced girl must have bitten him, where his last thoughts as a mortal man. From that night on, the Barony was ruled in a different way.
