  1. I got three of these to stand if for Venomthropes in my tyranid army. Going to do the base to match the others when I've got them all done.:
  2. Finished this guy the other day. I am happy with how the face turned out.:
  3. Just like 2015, I realized the end of Orctober was quickly approaching, and I hadn't painted a single Orc! I had to remedy that, but I went through the box of "primed and ready" and found the Orcs...lacking. I had to build a few, and these were the results of those most near completion already. First, we have a group shot: "C'mon, boyz, dance like ya mean it! Show the crowd what they came here fer!" Some solo shots of the notorious Kap'n Kee-Runch, a Freeboota of little note. He's assembled from the Tankbusta Nob, arms from the plastic Nob box, and a pirate Ork head from Spellcrow.
  4. This one took a long time to complete. I claimed it finished two times, but got more feedback. Fixed a little here, added a little there.. And as they say; All good things are three. :)
  5. First tank I've ever painted. Sort of happy with how it turned out. The wings/skull symbols are made from clay.:
  6. Got this in a trade. The modifications are done by a friend. I completed the paint job.: Barrel was drilled after the pics were taken. :)
  7. I found some Army Men terrain at my local thrift shop... How It's Made
  8. I painted this up over the course of one day, yesterday. Curious to see what you guys think! If you're interested in how I made it...process is laid out here: xactoguru.blogspot.ca
  9. Finished the last model in my Tyranid army for now. All hail the King and Queen. :)
  10. So, I'm about to start really painting my Orks for 40k and my theme for them is Pirate - which is going to include a lot of conversions eventually and what not based on nautical ships. Where I'm stuck atm is coming up with a more or less cohesive colour scheme for them. 40K orks are fairly garish but dingy, as they've seen a lot of battles. Reds, Yellows, and Blues are common, pretty much primary colours. Their skin is almost always done up in dark greens. I am going with the greenskin but for an overall colour scheme I just don't know what to do. Some of the guys I've painted with blu
  11. Did this Hive Tyrant yesterday/today. He is magnetized to be able to switch between legs and wings. The 'not alien' head is from Epoch Studioz. Overall, I am really happy with this one. Edit: Updating the post with the based miniature. It has some drool, now, too! Alternate version, with all magnetized parts switched out:
  12. Finished this fellow last Thursday during a GW painting event: Update: Made this fellow a sort of display base, so he can adorn my shelf in all his splendor. :P
  13. So finally got good pics of this, it's a Ghostark for my son Playboy's Necron army, a GW model thingy, for 40K.
  14. Here's a piece that I painted up for a Dark Eldar force that I've been adding to over the years. My client had the idea of having him missing most of his skin. I'm definitely keen on adding gruesome details like that to minis. So, here he is:
  15. Took a while to upload, but these are the results from my WIP thread.:
  16. Hello everyone! If you haven't noticed, I kind of dropped off the face of the forum at the end of last Summer for a number of reasons! Life has a strange way of throwing more things at you than you can juggle at once, but luckily, everything's finally slowing down enough to where I can paint minis, and spend wayyyy too much time posting my meager struggles for all of you awesome Reaperites to witness. First, a few things: 1. An Apology - I'm apologizing to everyone for not getting a previous exchange done until now. I believe it was the Fall Exchange, in which I was supposed to send Mars
  17. Here is another Harlequin Solitaire that I got to have a go at. The challenge was to do him up in black and white, but it was all about the subtle differences in the black- some of it has a little more red and some a little more blue to it, and I actually went through quite a few other colors as I highlighted it up. Hopefully, some of those things show up in the pictures:
  18. Okay, so I got a bunch of Moonrakers almost free minis. Didn't expect much, but these are really not getting the credit they are due on the website images. Here they are: It's time to slap some paint on them, and I sort of want these fellows to be more colourful than my existing gangs. Here are some hair color testing on the first few lucky ones.:
  19. Just finished these for the boyos birthday - he turned 15 yesterday but we're celebrating today. He saw the Doomscythe model and really liked it so I started a small force for him, more to do, but this is what's finished now. Anyway, c&c is always welcome! First time I've done a vehicle, other than a car or P51 mustang lol
  20. Finished this guy a while ago. He is from the Gears of War board game, but will be used as a hired gun in our Necromunda campaigns.
  21. This is another Neromunda ganger. I really liked this miniature. It was fun to paint. A lot more detailed than I thought it would be when I ordered. She still needs to be based, but I am out of basing materials for my sci-fi table, and Norway is frozen over for the moment. After seeing these pics, I need to drill the gun, too.
  22. Here's a force I've worked on in a few batches. The concept for the force is that the Wraithguard are all ancient machines that the Exodites maintain, while riding dinosaurs into battle. Here's the force's farseer, and three Wraithguard that I added recently.
  23. I tried to come up with something witty to say for this ol'fellow, but I gave up. Same composition as the others, and magnetized to allow weapon swaps.: Chaos marine weapons (meltagun and chainsword, flagellant head, techno priest body. Skull on the base is from an old warhammer skeleton, along with some sprue. Edit: I noticed I forgot to drill the weapon.. got to do that asap. :)
  24. Second last ganger, for use in Necromunda, and quite possibly the last to be featured here. :) Noticed some errors when uploading the pics as normal, so I'll need to do some touch ups. The pip-boy thingie needs something nice, too. Anyway, this is made up of some random bits and a Warhammer flagellant. He is wielding a Hot-Shot Lasgun. Will be a lot of fun to use these on the field of battle.
