This is the Pathfinder Amiri figure 60003 that I painted up yesterday for my Half Ugak character named Muk in another 50 Fathoms game. For those unfamiliar with 50 Fathoms it's Pirates of the Caribbean turned up to 11 and full Ugaks are basically red orc barbarians. This was my first attempt at red skin and I'm pleased with the result. Though I think the pictures make the figure look better then it actually is, which is a first I think. Usually the photos show all the errors you made.

I finally finished painting the player character models for my 50 Fathoms campaign. Sadly I am posting this now instead of playing, since one of the players is sick. Group shot: First up, my husbands character, Toa, the kraken earth mage and swordsman. (Reaper 3135 Bathalian Pirate) Those who know 50 Fathoms should be able to guess one his starting edges. My son wanted to play a Zorro like character, so here is Xorro Mandez, the spanish mask wearing swordsman and ladies man (Reaper Chronoscope 50054 Zorro). This figure is also my first real success with NMM on a bigger object like a sword. The third character is Tawny Tinewise, a masaquani gunslinger with a penchant for blowing stuff up (Reaper 3623 Finaela), modified to have 2 guns. And yes, that revolver is not quite the right period, which is why I was trying to hide the cylinder by painting it wood... Last but not least, the captain of the bunch, an Englishman named Tim Brighton, which is also quite adept at shooting pistols and bows. (Pathfinder 60148 Sandru Vhiski)

Two of these of bones orc spearmen (77003) was modified and shanghaied into service as 50 Fathoms redmen. I considered also modifying the chainmain and making it into furs, but decided that was too much work for standard mooks. I also bought a set of captured pirates from Old Glory miniatures and painted up the natives as red men. Sadly the quality of the sculpts on these was not the best, so not sure they deserved the base treatment I gave them. Also painted up one of the captures pirates, I had to sculpt him a cap, since his head was very flat and weird looking on top, and his malformed leg was turned into a leg wound. I think the rest of the bunch will be unpainted forever.

Cyndria Stormcaller (Reaper 2956), painted up for my 50 Fathoms campaign. She is used as an allied extra.

The Deepwars Cephalid Siren from Antimatter Games is exactly how I imagine the 50 Fathoms witches look. A great sculpt and very fun to paint.

More pirates for 50 Fathoms, Barnabus Frost (77132) and Hajad (77134). Barnabus got the play the big bad pirate opponent, and Hajad was the unfortunate extra that bit the dust in my one shot I ran last weekend (see here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/56252-50-fathom-pirate-recruits-bathalian-77020-and-tiik-warriors-77186/)

So I ran a one shot 50 Fathoms adventure this weekend with hubby, son and 2 friends that were visiting. It went well, but they derailed the adventure completely by not walking the plank, instead choosing to stand and fight... First round was rough, half the party was down from all the pirates firing their pistols. But they prevailed, loosing only 1 extra, and headed off in a totally opposite direction from where the one-sheet adventure was at. So I winged a treasure map, and they found and dug up buried treasure, so all was good in the end. Anyway, here is the slightly converted Bones Bathalian (77020), I painted up to be a Kraken earth mage, one of the pre-made characters they could pick from. Not so happy with the color choices on his clothes. Tiik warriors (Bones 77186), standing in for Kehana, one of which has been converted to wear pants. Not sure what up with my color selections for them either, that pink is not terrible attractive...

Here is Sascha Dubois (Bones 80004) I recently painted up for 50 Fathoms. I downplayed the sci-fi parts in this paint job, and I think she works as a navigator or officer on a pirate ship.

I am painting up a bunch of pirates for 50 Fathoms one-shot and hopefully a campaign. Pretty fast paint jobs, i didn't spend a ton of time on these tabletop Bones minis. First up Gruff Grimcleaver (70133), now nicknamed The Swede: Next Mariel Twinspar (70135): And last pirate recruit Seoni (Bones 89006), painted up as a 50 Fathoms water mage.
