  1. Started this guy back in 2010 and, after eleven years of on and off work (mostly off), I'm going to say he's finished. There are things I could do better now than when I started him, and certainly areas I could try to tweak more, but I'd rather save the energy/time for another figure. 54mm Games Workshop "Brother Artemis" Space Marine from the old "Inquisitor" game. Made a few minor tweaks (repositioned the sword) and left off a few bits 'cause I didn't like how they looked. Base was sanded down and then rebuilt with plastic card to look industrial. Nowadays I can just buy 40mm bases that are done this way. It was actually the first part thing that got painted which meant I had to be careful when I was painting the figure! Painted primarily with Reaper paints.
  2. Painted this miniature in my vacation. Turned out pretty nice. Especially proud of the owl.
  3. I received a package a few days ago of Russian 54mm semi-flat figures. While I broke down and ordered more before I tried painting any of them, I at least primed them, so I knew it could be done. They looked like they would be plausible to paint (though to a “nice toy” standard rather than a “museum zinnfiguren” standard), so I sat done this morning and cranked out this fellow in about 90 minutes. How flat are they? Being thin and plastic, they are very light, so I am thinking that I am going to have to order a bunch of 20mm x 40mm steel bases. Then it’s a question of what sort of game are these going to turn out to support...
  4. Thought some of you might find this of interest: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cultofpaint/deorgard-by-cult-of-paint At Cult of Paint we've taught painting classes to hundreds of people all over the world. We make painting tutorials for YouTube and Patreon. We have signature series airbrushes with renowned manufacturer Harder & Steenbeck AND we produce a 54mm sci-fi miniatures range and bust collection that has won multiple international painting awards. Now it's time for something really cool............ OUR FIRST FANTASY MINIATURES RANGE!!!!! Dræfend bust painted by David Colwell @davecolwell725 Ever since we created our sci-fi miniatures range we've had the bug for creating awesome models for people to enjoy painting. We LOVE fantasy settings and wanted to create our own world to explore the characters so often associated with fantasy and folklore, but with our own interpretations. And so Deorgard was born, with the elves being the first race we wanted to bring to life as gorgeous miniatures and busts...... Heargeard bust painted by Rodrigo Ciprés @rodrigo.akore Releasing the range in one go ensures we create tonnes of excitement while also enabling painters to get their favourite models from day one with no long gaps between characters coming out. And it means we can crack on with working on more miniatures for you to add to your collections! As we begin to explore this wild land we wanted to introduce some elves from different regions of Deorgard. PLAY In Heargeard we meet a woodsman. A guardian of the forests and the dark places where some of the most ancient parts of the land still endure. Heargeard concept art by Max Fitzgerald @hieronymus_max Painted by David Colwell ( yes that base is insane ) As the trees give way to the grasslands a hunter needs not only patience but the frightening speed and savagery to survive. Dræfend is one such elf who excels here. She has learned to hunt as part of a pack, accompanied by one of the great wolves that make their homes in the foothills nearby. Dræfend & Wulf concept art by Max Fitzgerald @hieronymus_max Dræfend & Wulf painted by Ruben Martinez @rma_ruben_martinez The land rises sharply and great peaks soar towards the sky. Here we find another symbiosis of elf and beast. Whilst Sceotend may be blind she does not lack sight, her hawk's third eye providing unrivalled clarity and vision. concept art by Max Fitzgerald @hieronymus_max Sceotend painted by Richard Gray @daemonrich An equally harsh environment can be found in the vast desert that covers much of the centre of Deorgard. In this ever-changing and ruthless sea of sand, those such as Læl's word is law. She is judge and executioner, swift and merciless at dealing out punishment to any transgressors. Læl concept art by Max Fitzgerald @hieronymus_max Læl painted by Andy Wardle @andywardle_artwork As primal and challenging as the landscape of Deorgard is there are still places where societies have settled and thrived. Guardians such as Indryhten stand sentinel over sacred places and those elected by their peers to rule these bastions of advancement. Indryhten concept art by Max Fitzgerald @hieronymus_max Painted by Andy Wardle
  5. My take on 54mm Zweothel. Join my Patreon and Instagram to see more https://www.instagram.com/story1000suns/ Vote for her on P&P https://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/27985
  6. This was a super quick project. DH printed the model on Tuesday and I painted it in about 6 hours on Wednesday. So <48 hours from liquid resin to finished model. I intentionally wanted to work with vibrant colors and picked jade green, gothic crimson and golden yellow as my starting paints. The figure is slightly modified, a crossbow on her hip broke, and I shaved the remains off. I added the fangs with paint, I think the figure was intended to be an elf.
  7. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/685171087/kharn-ages Some NSFW minis on the KS page, images not included here KHÂRN-ÂGES is a medieval fantastic skirmish game in which you direct a Spearhead (name given to your miniatures team). These Spearheads are composed of anthropomorphic animals of 54mm (this is an indicative value, many species are larger). The figures are sold unassembled and unpainted. It's an ambitious project where you can choose from four different factions from the start. A rules book will detail all phases of the game, as well as equipment, spells and scenarios. A double-sided battle mat completes the game material. You can discover the universe and follow most heroes in a novel already available in French (it's a good way to start learning!): Khârn-Ages T1: The Embrasement. In KHÂRN-ÂGES, you can modulate your compositions without changing miniatures! Indeed a same figurine can correspond to several LEVELS of profiles, and you can equip it as you wish, you have the possibility to play it with different characteristics while changing its weapons and its equipment, or to have access to many different spells for magicians. KHÂRN-ÂGES is a scenario game, it is not about exterminating your opponent (even if it's feasible sometimes!), but fulfilling your goals to win. KHÂRN-ÂGES is a game that only requires a few miniatures to play, so you will not have a huge budget to plan to get started and buy your 500 Krowns of heroes to build your first Spearhead: the cost of recruitment of each mini proposed in this campaign is indicated below each model, it can be modulated by the equipment that will be available in the rulebook. This campaign offers you to acquire the figurines, the rules, the play mat to fully enjoy your fun experience from the start. The rules are easy to understand and very permissive, but the level of strategy is very high and will seduce the most demanding players. You can discover the fighting engine on our YOUTUBE channel (with English subtitles). Last but not least, KHÂRN-ÂGES is a 100% French game, the entire project is developed in the north of France, 40 km separate the workshop of creation and production of our paper printer. To date, after nearly 3 years of development, we are proud to present most of the miniatures that will be available during this campaign, the others are being modeled. Rules and profile cards have been tested (by our team and a number of seasoned Briskars players). They are currently finalized and in the process of being formatted. If we decide to go through a crowdfunding campaign, it's because this project can not succeed without you! TGCM is a modest company but has always kept its commitments and has created a substantial community around its first game, Briskars. However, the costs of such an adventure are much higher than those that allowed us to launch our first game. In addition to the design phase, the production and molding of figurines, there are many items related to the creation of a game. Your contributions will allow the printing of books and profiles and equipment cards, the modeling, the production and packaging of minitures, the control of the production line in our workshop to guarantee you the best quality and the development (we hope you will reach these levels) of many game accessories. The goal we are hoping to reach may seem important, but it reflects the reality of the costs and charges we face. Achieving this goal will allow the birth of KHÂRN-ÂGES, not to end our days in the sun! We are counting on you all to reach it and bring the world of Safar to life... Khârns Proud and bellicose, they are the archetype of the warrior people, but they are far from having the same character. Their king gone crazy and paranoid after having tortured his people for too long is on the verge of being overthrown, the nobles are slipping into profit and debauchery at King-Khârns, the capital, and some, like Prince Baudry and his brave Paladins remain upright to the point of wanting to overthrow the established order. However, all swear by blood and steel, the secular worship of this people. They have a brutal and organized fighting style, but are distinguished mainly by their diversity of profiles: from the heavy armors worn by paladins to the rapid attacks of the advanced vanguards, they have no real weaknesses except the valor of their fighters. They are the stability that a player preferring to fight back will particularly like. Size 75mm / Base 50mm Size 70mm / Base 40mm Size 65mm / Base 50mm Size 54mm / Base 50mm

  9. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/infamyminis/infamy-collectibles The Infamy: Collectibles range combines larger scale full miniatures, busts and complex or special kits. It is aimed aimed primarily at painters and collectors, but some of the models have also been designed with crossover potential in mind for gamers. There's no specific theme or setting - the only criteria for entry into the Collectibles range is that a model is cool and exciting! Each model has been designed and sculpted by amazing artists, will be cast in the high-quality resin that Infamy has become know for, and packed up in luxury bespoke boxes.
  10. This is another variant of Reaper's Elf Ranger Flat. In this case a Dark Elf. Since I had no idea what a dark elf was, I had to do some research. Basically, they're... dark. Purples, blacks, reds, etc. I suppose there's other variants. I added the nocked arrow using brass rod, putty flights and head. A small amount of carving was involved. Painted in Reaper acrylics. Qs and Cs welcomed. Glen

  12. This was my first shot at a 54mm miniature and I chose finari, I am very happy indeed with how she came out and especially like the gold NMM which was a mix of scale 75 and reaper paints with a little Vallejo game air white. Thanks to everyone on the WIP thread for input and support and I welcome any feedback that could improve her. Hope you like her as much as I do.
  13. Having a go at bigger figures again, don't they take a long time to get finished? So this is a little vignette in 54mm scale called "The Trophy". I probably tried to squeeze everything onto too small a base, but overall I'm pleased with the actual figures.
  14. About Judgement has gone from strength to strength since our successful Kickstarter campaignthat launched the game in 2017. We funded 14 heroes and 1 monster, enabling us to produce a fantastic range of miniatures to get the game out there. It also provided us with a platform from which to build incredible communities of Judgement players around the world. Judgement is already awesome to play, however similar to the MOBAs from which Judgement draws inspiration, more heroes means even more awesomeness! Therefore, almost immediately after shipping our kickstarter, the design team got busy designing the wave 2 heroes that will ensure the game has the depth to reach its potential. We re-designed a number of heroes that were not unlocked from wave 1 and added a few more, resulting in 12 amazing heroes and 3 monsters, that will well and truly put Judgement on the world stage. The Judgement team have a proven track record of manufacturing high quality models that are a pleasure to paint and game with. Below is a selection of models we have produced to date. Sculpt by Tom Lishman; Painted by Gavin Clarke Sculpt by James W. Cain; Painted by Trent Denison Sculpt by Tom Lishman; Painted by Gavin Clarke With a proven track record of producing amazing quality 54mm scale resin miniatures, and the Judgement team's active involvement in our growing community, we are sure that wave 2 will be a smashing success and afford us the breathing space to take the game to the next level. So why not join us on what is sure to be an amazing ride? The following 12 heroes are available at all pledge levels. Not all yet have sculpts, however our track record proves that Judgement sculpts end up very close to their illustrations. Illustration by Helge C. 15. So, a looooooong time ago, I painted this as a gift to my then-girlfriend (now wife), known to a few around here as Nissiana: Then the 54mm "Master Series" came out. Nissiana picked up the Monique DeNoir figure and painted a stellar monochrome version as a gift for me. Around the same time (shortly after the model was released, so early 2008), I picked up the 54mm counterpart of the above figure, Maria Roseblade. I intended at the time to paint her as a gift to Nissiana...and I started painting her. Got a few basecoats, even. Then, other projects for games, contests, etc. cropped up and Maria was sidelined. It's been a running joke ever since, as Nissiana knows about the intended gift. So, before mid-March 2018, I want to finish this up. Here's where we are: I want to follow the oxblood leather/blue top ideas of the original figure, but the light blue piping is getting replaced with ivory lace. I'm also happy with where I left a lot of the skin, so I don't need to repaint much. But there's plenty left to do! The white patch on her thigh is greystuff, required for some gap filling. Here we go!
  16. I realized I had yet to post any pictures of my latest project here. A few months ago I started working on this 54mm scale knight from Romeo Models. The figure is from the era of the 3rd Crusade, but I decided to paint him up as a generic knight rather than one of the crusading orders (like the Templars). This gave me a lot more freedom in color choice and for the design work on his clothing/shield. In my mind, he's an English knight traveling with Richard the Lionheart on crusade. That steered my color choice a bit, as red and yellow were colors used by the English king. But I opted to replace the lion with a griffin on this piece (just to do something a little different). He's come a pretty long way. I wanted to push for a higher contrast on this piece. It's similar to how I've done fantasy figures, but I wanted to see how I could make it look on a historical figure (since we naturally expect to see a more realistic overall look). I made a few very minor changes to the figure. I shaved down the noseguard a bit so it hid less of his face. And I inserted two arrow shafts into his shield. Painting has all be done with acrylics, primarily Reaper though I did use Scale75 for the metallics. I have a couple small details to do on the knight, along with the chainmail on his legs. Then all that's left are the base and weathering the figure. I don't expect a ton of time to paint over the holidays, so hopefully I can finish him up in January. And here's a look at the base (keeping it pretty simple just to focus on the figure) and a sense of scale for the piece.
  17. Here is Maria Roseblade from the Reaper Master Series. Hope you'll like it. WIP is here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/62239-30007-maria-roseblade-pirate-queen-54mm-xherman1964
  18. Magically Distracted She sat on her favorite stool, having gotten mostly undressed and relaxed, gently swirling the goblet of red wine in her hand as she read through the grimore in her lap... closing her eyes she gently concentrated on the spell that was before her... suddenly the books piled around her lifted up in the air as if they had minds of their own and were caught in a small windstorm. She giggled to herself and took another long drink of the wine from her goblet and continued to study... --------------------- This was a really fun project that I started up in April of this year. My goal was to get her done in time for the 'eavier metal online contest (Facebook) and see if I could place or perhaps get a random draw. I ended up uploading her about 10 minutes late, so I have no idea at the time of doing this post if she will be considered in the contest or if she will be disqualified. Either way, I had fun, I had tons of amazing feedback during the WIP and a lot of people cheering me on to get it finished. I present to you "Magically Distracted" a NSFW Kingdom Death figure in the 54mm scale, she is a limited edition resin release. Please feel free to give your comments and critiques. I'm going to check and see if I am allowed to bring a nude figure to ReaperCon this year for entry into their painters contest or not. If not, she'll stay home as I do have plenty of other things to enter as well. A few firsts on this one, I did some elaborate tattoos, magical floating books, writing in books in freehand, a completely nude figure, texturing pattern, Venus dimples, and last but not least sheer stockings (which were a lot of fun and a lot of work!). First - pics that are SFW and then I'll post some NSFW links (special thanks to @Thrym for hooking me up with his site for hosting as Facebook links expire) and for helping me out with the really cool title placard). NSFW Links One Two Three Four Five ETA: Better pics after a bit of clean-up to the OSL and added red ink to the drink.
  19. Starting this one up as it now has my attention due to a contest on bookfarce by the 'eavier metal facebook group. This is Distracted by Kingdom Death, she's a 54mm 1st run collector's edition resin miniature that I couldn't pass up a while back when she was released for a very limited time. This figure is completely nude so she is definitely NSFW and I'll make sure to link any pics that would violate forum rules. Let's start off with the pic I can show! The NSFW pics that show the body parts - Front Side Side As I go along, I would like very honest and forthright comments and critiques to push me as she will be a contest entry and I may bring her to ReaperCon as well!
  20. I finished up Shazirah today, took me about 8 or so hours total from start to finish, but no special basing. I couldn't get the figure painted and do a nice base in the span of a day. She's a gift for my niece who turns 18 in a couple of weeks, she asked her dad to have me paint something up for her and I did my best to get a TT+ standard figure done today for her before my brother heads back to Missouri tomorrow morning. Anyhow, final pics! C&C are welcomed and appreciate of course.
  21. Sitting at home today, chatting with my brother who is in town visiting, he mentioned that his daughter would love something painted up by me for her 18th birthday. So over the last few hours I've been working on Shazirah a 54mm barbarian from Ares Mythologic. Here's the progress thus far - starting from priming black/white to where I'm at right now. It's taken me about 4 hours to get to this point. I'm hoping to finish her off in the next 2-3 hours as the skin is always what I fuss over the most!
  22. Getting back into the swing of things, decided to take it easy by basing the fully painted yet unbased Excelsy I had lying on my Shelf of Shame(tm).

  24. This was a speed paint I did in an attempt to paint faster and not overthink my miniatures. I had painted fhe base previously. Boris took and hour, my NMM attempt took 40 more minutes.
  25. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gunmeistergames/judgement-a-moba-inspired-54mm-miniatures-game Judgement brings all the elements of the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena video game genre to the table top. Powerful, diverse and fun heroes, neutral monsters, magical items and hero levels. These ingredients provide a truly amazing gaming experience like no other miniature game on the market. The game design team have worked tirelessly for more than a year creating, testing and perfecting the core mechanics which ensure diverse, dynamic hero activations and a fast, flexible combat system. The icing on the cake are superbly detailed 54mm scale resin cast miniatures.
