Another pair from my winter painting. I wanted them to have a simple puritan look, without going too drab or making them all black, so I chose some subdued blues. Not sure what they've just spotted in the woods, but the woman looks none too happy about it. Ah, perhaps this is what they've seen, a wight wandering in the gloom.
As the forces of Old Night gather outside, the sounds of spectral jobbling can be faintly heard. The Turkey Spirits rise and hunt their prey, eyes glowing with a baleful fire... But just as with the 1st Thanksgiving, some hardelf Pilgrims have risen up to protect the fragile sanity of man from these dark forces, I present Hansel and Gretel, Witch Hunters and Turkey Spirit Smiters!
Rippers Witch Hunter from Reaper's Savage Worlds miniatures line. Oh varnish. The bane of my existance. I just can never seem to get it right. I've got the first step down (two rounds of floor polish) but after that I'm stumped. What I thought was my try and tested method of matt spray varnish suddenly doesn't work. It either leaves considerable spots of gloss and/or frost (the later probably due to the cold weather). And the spray is a nightmare to maintain. Recently I've tried to go back to brush on matt sealer which seems to do the trick (at least servicable). But something worries me t
