Found and thought I'd pass on. Could be fun. With the continued weakening of the dollar vs. Euro currencies it makes it increasingly more difficult to get in one these. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inmotioncreations/dungeon-classics After launching our brand with our historical line "Ancient Duels", we embarked on the project of developing our Fantasy line and introducing you to "Dungeon Classics". A line designed to evoke the memories of those Heroquest and D&D games from our childhood that today are still very interesting concepts. We wanted to present them in a dungeon, to allow you to paint it in unimaginable ways, they have been designed so that painters can enjoy all kinds of materials, textures and effects so that you let your imagination run We have decided to present this project on Kickstarter to be able to offer you an interesting range of exclusive pieces that will be yours completely free of charge to help us produce and finance it. For those who acquire the complete scene, they will also have the opportunity to obtain the roof of the scenic base if it is unlocked as Stretch Goal, having a complete cave! We currently have the masters printed and we are doing the first casting tests. cast samples

A new kickstarter project from Kev White: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hasslefriesian/artemis-20/description Don't think I shall be backing this myself as I don't do much that is bigger than 54mm. This seems to be happening off Kev's own bat and I don't think Hasslefree is involved. Whether that is a good thing or not I leave to your own judgement.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2087306595/black-sailors-legends-of-the-jade-sea About Black Sailors: Legends of the Jade sea is a project that will expand the Black Sailors 75mm resin miniature line with new and exciting models based on the myths of the Far East. Although it is aparently planned as a four miniature line-up, we have many cool surprises prepared should you help us bring this dream to life. These miniatures have been designed, sculpted, and painted here at the Big Child Creatives studio with the collaboration of some of the most talented miniature artists out there. And what is more, they will be manufactured by our own talented team of resin casting experts. This will allow us to monitor the process closely to ensure the best quality in the market and a timely delivery. We have learned a lot since our previous Kickstarter almost four years ago, and we wanted to see how far we could take a new campaign. We invite you to join this journey into the remote Jade Seas to discover their many wonders and some of their most iconic inhabitants. Four years after our previous campaign, we wanted to set sail again and see where the winds would take us. We have been slowly cooking this campaign for the past few years, taking care of every little nook and cranny of these miniatures, pouring our souls into each detail and texture to make each character unique. This campaign is designed as a journey of discovery, full of surprises in the form of custom kits to make your miniatures even more striking than they already are. Some of these kits will be Kickstarter exclusive, so those of you who choose to support us will be able to proudly show it through unique miniatures, even more full of life and character than our regular releases. .

About five or six years ago I received the Knight Models 75mm Boromir as a Christmas gift. I started to assemble the pieces and became intimidated by what I needed to do to 1) finish assembly and 2) actually paint him. Last year I finally worked up the nerve to start painting, got some base colors and his face started, then again lost my nerve and drive. A couple of months ago I at last took Boromir off my shelf-of-unlimited-opportunity and started working. I finally finished him. Front view: Back view: Three-quarter view: Does this lighting wash me out? (Some day I'm going to work out my photography settings and workflow.) Each model is a learning experience and I learned quite a bit on Boromir: how to deal with large expanses of space, a method of highlighting black, keeping colors (somewhat) in balance on a large figure, and the importance of securing the weight of a big hunk of white metal. All and all, I enjoyed painting Boromir and I'm no longer afraid of taking on larger sizes.

Starting on my second project. Masterbox's World of Fantasy. Box states 1/24. Injection molded plastic. Didn't like the Footrests, so added my own. Added a cushion for her to sit on. Added some rings in his horns for adding reins later. Is now ready for primer

About this project Meet Thrawn, the battle hardened, slayer of evil, that has seen more war than any other barbarian in his clan. Or any other known clan, for that matter. If you were to find yourself surrounded by demons, Thrawn is the one you'd want by your side. This is the first bust I've had printed, and here it is*: *I will be going over this, and the other prints, with clay, smoothing out parts, adding details, and basically doing some quality control, before getting them mold/cast. Resh, the Chaos King. He's been marching his armies, of unspeakable horrors, across the land, taking everything they touch. If he's not stopped soon, he will be too powerful to face at all. This is Raynard. Much younger than Thrawn, but the only human brave enough to face Resh, and his evil horde of creatures. He's seen enough war to make most men give up on humanity, but Raynard doesn't give up Ever. The stretch goals! At $4000 you will get access to a female Necromancer, one of Resh's Most trusted advisors, and at $5000, an unamable horror, one of Resh's monstrous army. While these haven't been completed yet, you can expect the same level of design quality, and detail, you've seen in the original 3. These will be printed by Entrescan, then molded and cast in resin, by Trollforged. I'm doing my best, to design some really cool, and varied, busts, that should be a lot of fun to paint, and look great when you're done with them. My goal here, is to raise the funds needed, to print, mold, cast, package, and ship these busts to your door. In order to keep shipping costs down, I'm going with Fedex International, as they seem to be the cheapest, without forcing me to get a mailing permit ($450) before even mailing anything out. Doing this will keep costs down, but I'm not going to know how much shipping will be, until I get all the orders in. If 50 busts need shipped, they will charge one price, if 75 need shipped, they will charge a completely different price. This means I have no way of knowing exactly what to charge for shipping. But I will keep you updated on this, as numbers develop.

This is Scale 75's Bitsie or to use the the full title; Ares Condominium, Operator 31, 'Bitsie'. I have no idea what all that means since there's no backstory to the piece. Nada. There are six metal parts and a resin base. I epoxied the base to a wooden block and enlarged it with Aves Apoxie Sculpt, added some kitty litter (fresh!) rocks, some wire rebar, a bent styrene pipe, and the smashed pink teddy bear (also Aves). Overall the fit was fine, but there where some areas where the detail got a bit soft and/or nebulous. It was nothing that couldn't be handled. I pinned and epoxied all of the joints. I was originally going to paint it a medium to dark blue with white trim and red hair, but eventually opted to paint and weather her like a tank. It's the armor and guns... I used Dremel ball and dovetail cutters to ding up her armor before priming the figure with Floquil Model Railroad Gray Primer (no longer available, BTW). The basic color scheme is Reaper's Olive Drab and Earth Brown triads. Think RAF Spitfire circa 1940. Very military. I painted the small yellow disks on her shoulder armor and use 1/48 British tank registration numbers for the '31'. It was my wavy of tying her into the name. Her undersuit is painted Adamantium Black, while Scorched Metal was used on the vents. I went with red hair (a complement to the green, but everyone knows armed-to-the-teeth red haired space babes rock). The impact marks, scratches, scrapes, dust, and dirt were a combination of dark metal paints, colored pencils, tan/brown washes. The landscaping is based on Rover HD photos of Mars' surface with the Power Palette to point to the right colors. Questions and comments are welcomed. No secrets here... Glen

Here my latest finished figure! I did her for the a White Wolf Minuatures contest that ends tomorrow and I'll also bring her along to ReaperCon this year. This is Lagertha Lothbrok the Shieldmaiden or "skjaldmær" in Old Norse. I went with a mix of gritty realism and fantasy. What I pictured in my head: She's just finished a battle of epic proportions, she's coated in the blood of her enemies and standing alone in a world that has gone mad, the ground cracks and erupts and blue light pours forth illuminating her and she looks around for the next enemy to slay... I've got a bunch of pics of different angles so it's picture heavy. C&C are welcomed and appreciated, thanks for looking!

Hey all, I figure maybe, just maybe if I do this as an actual WIP, I might actually try and finish this piece. I have an upcoming 2 day class with Alfonso (Banshee), and part of the class is something called sketching atmosphere, using a 75mm figure. I'll know more about this, after the class.....so I'm trying to figure out how best to get the piece ready for class day. So on to the figure.... Yikes, it's resin and white metal! And the resin, well, detailed - but issues.... Just like everyone said....these braids, they are gonna break, (which they did) 75mm...and I swear I've seen bigger eyes on my 28mm Huge mold/? Line in a very difficult place.....the curvature makes it hard to get into with straight tools/files. I left my drill at work....dang. A few more pics, for anyone interested in buying this kit. (Since I couldn't find any online before I bought)

As if I don't already have a bunch on my plate... I saw this gorgeous figure was going OOP and it was on sale for 50% off with free shipping from Spain... I HAD to get her. Lagertha Lothbrok from the History Channel's "Vikings" is a beautiful, powerful, intelligent, and amazing character. I also saw that White Wolf Miniatures is doing a painted contest for her this month and now I'm working on the resin beauty as a change of pace and am inspired to paint my first 75mm figure! Pease join me on this fun journey and give me comments, advice, and no holds barred critiques! SKÓL!!!!!! Here's where I'm at today so far. Primed, cleaned, and based. I'm doing some pre-highlighting. Here's where her shield will be next to the skullz of her enemies!

Happy Labor Day weekend folks! Last week I completed Brom the Wanderer from Scale 75 for a client. He had a specific look he wanted, and even had some photos of a similar paint job. We settled on price and time alloted to this project, and here he is! The rocks are cork and greenstuff, with some sand and small stones in between. The lava was created using SceneARama realistic water. All mounted on a wooden base. Hope you like him. Thanks for looking!

Overall the base are nice and practical. Usable as raised plinth for easy pinning / epoxying magnets or flat with raised edges for blending in a broccoli base / avoiding extra height. But since they were referred to as imperial measurements in the KS, I had hoped that would have been their sizes. But like most other folks who make bases, Reaper went with metric sizes 25mm, 50mm & 75mm rather than the good old Imperial 1 inch, 2 inchs and 3 inches. Am I the only one slightly miffed by this? EDIT: mind you, I'm only slightly miffed, I was kinda expecting the to be the mm they wound up at.
