  1. The companion unit to the archers presented earlier. The back pumpkin is from a set of doll house decorations, the front two are from the Reaper pumpkin blister. Corn is made by JTT Scenery Products. The shields being large and mostly smooth were conductive to freehanding the pumpkins on.
  2. This is a 20 man (well, 17 with a unit filler) unit of skeletons that I'm working on for possible use in Kings of War. It's composed of figures by a lot of different manufacturers including Reaper, Ral Partha, GW, Grenadier, Mage Knight, and WOTC. I'm using all the different makers and scales to try and make an interesting looking unit composed of more than just human remains. I am an equal opportunity, non racially biased necromancer, after all. This will be kind of a slow burn project; I'm not in any major rush to finish these for a game any time soon. This will be something to work on in between other projects. There will be conversions, and different paint jobs for the skellies; again in an effort to make a more interesting looking group. Here's the unit all together: What would be more interesting; making individual show off threads as I finish 2 or 3 figures, or just putting the finished figures in here and then doing a show off for the whole unit once it's complete?
  3. Some more practice/experimenting on a skeleton from the stocking stuffer extras. I tried adding a little something to the base, since I got a hodgepodge of basing supplies as part of a quest from the Getting To Know You thread. There are a couple of more pictures on my blog, though there's not much in the way of the process since I was running out of things to say about skeletons : link I'd really just picked the deadest-looking bits of moss that I could find for the basing, but a friend said that it made it seem like he was standing over the remains of some vanquished rival skeleton, so yay for that
  4. The finished batch of undead 89031: Whispering Tyrant 77280: Lich 77281: Succubus 77282: Vampire 77284: Zombie Ogre 77285: Skeletal Champion 77147: Mummy LIch 77161: Ghost King
  5. I was running behind on figures for this months Resolutionary Painting Challenge so I decided to paint an easy one. I tried a homemade sepia ink wash at first but that didn't really show up too well so I went over it again with MSP Brown wash. The left shoulder came out a little weird. The base is one of the 25mm round bases from the Bones II kickstarter with some woodland scenics ballast on it. Any C&C is appreciated.
  6. This speed painted horde of skellies really helped towards my goal of painting 100 minis this year. These are SKUs 77001, 77017 and 77018. Edited to add SKU to title and tags
  7. My second miniature ever, and my very first KS mini! It's just a rat, but I'm quite happy with the results. My WIP is posted here. (Note: the last picture was taken before I'd tidied up around the toes on his back feet; the top 2 pictures are the ones that were taken last.) Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
