I haven't painted a mini for a few years, got caught up moving interstate and starting a new job. (I am a tattoo artist, woo!) But finally sorting through my minis and paints and taking some time to tinker. I went with a colour scheme inspired by the old Hanna Barbera character, 'Wildfire.'

My little princess painting her first miniature. The mini is a BONES line 77029 Silverhorn Unicorn. My daughter is not quite three (less than two months away, now). With the heat advisory today, I decided it would be a good day to get her started on painting. I tried my best to not influence her at all. I pulled out a Reaper flat #2 Red Sable brush from a LTPK, her choice of two colors, a mini, some paper towel and a cup of water. I tried to dilute the paints at about 2:1, but she went through quite a bit. She got so into painting that she forgot she had a second paint color choice (Mahogany Brown and Ashen Blue were her choices). She painted brown continuously for about 20-30 minutes. She kept trying to get the Unicorn to stand up and at one point asked me to hold it. She also got sidetracked a few times trying to paint the tray or the paper towel (maybe she was mimicking me trying to mix colors and/or removing excess paint on a brush). Normally, I realize that this forum is to show of a couple of pictures of the final process. I figure that in this case I am more proud of being able to say that she painted for such a long period of time. She is VERY proud of herself...although not nearly as proud as I am.
