Here's an ork war party looking for a campsite. This ruined tower looks like a good place to stop. Doesn't take long to get a campfire going, plenty of wood around if you look. Anval Thricedamned (R) had a head transplant from the bits box and now sports orky horns. Irongrave knight (L) has a new axe. Cookware and roasting spit by STL Miniatures.

Some barbarians for an upcoming RPG session. I decided to be a little more creative than brown, brown, brown and brown. From left to right: Kingdom Death Lion Armor, 02476: Lorna the Huntress, 77055 Anval Thricedamned and 02528: Kara, Female Archer. I was going to go all Reaper, but realized I actually don't have that many male barbarian minis.

Whipped this guy up while taking a break from a few bigger projects. There are a LOT of touchups that I need to make, but for a palette cleanser, I think he turned out pretty cool. I think I need to find a place in my house with better lighting, because I notice a lot of detail errors when I get the close-up picture taken that I never saw when painting. Does anyone use magnifying glass or something else to help with smaller parts of a fig? I have excellent vision, but the difference between just looking at a fig on a tabletop and getting picture taken is pretty stark. Now I need to come up with a Big Bad Evil Guy so I can use this guy during an adventure. I appreciate any advice and critiques! Thanks!

Got a few miniatures in progress! Still struggling with taking decent photos, but my phone can only do so much I think. I may dig around in the settings to see if there's anything I can do to maybe improve the quality. These guys are being made for my Pathfinder group! Just have a few touchups left on them along with the bases to do. The orc is for the cleric, the lizardman is our druid, and the halfling paladin already had a mini for her character so I modified the Leprechaun and Owl mini to make her riding owl (added more fluff to the legs and removed the leprechaun)! I'm really happy with how the armor is coming out on the orc, and feel like I'm finally getting the hang of skin! The pictures don't do his armor justice. I'm also happy with how the lizardman came out in general, it was fun blending different colors for his scales. He has a bit of orange on his belly, throat, and thighs that unfortunately didn't really come out in these pictures.

Hi all, I picked up two of the James Wappel videos at Reapercon, and I've attempted to put into practice what I picked up in the Shaded Basecoat video. Anval Thricedamned is as close of a Reaper mini as I could find to the Raging Heroes Gormakk Orc Warmaster. All paints used were identical to the video. It turned out OK given that most everything I did was experimental for me. Looking at the model in-hand and in the pictures, I see a lot that could be done better. Deeper shadows on the muscles would help. The hands and red armor are a mess as I went a little crazy with the washes. But, it was a worthwhile experiment

It has been a long road of learning but I have finished Anval Thricedamned! Check out the Work In Progress for more details. Thank you all for your support on this one as he is my first attempt at a few new techniques. Axe & Base

I decide Anval Thricedamned deserved his own WIP. This is a re-post of what I did on Arc's Crafting Table. Your C&C are always welcome. After reading Monkeysloth's WIP and getting VERY motivated I have challenged myself to slow down and use more layers. The base is attached to a coin and the gaps are filled in with spackling. 1 23 45 6 7 8- Playing around with lighting *All photos are taken with my Nokia Lumia 1020 and then edited with the program GIMP: Crop, white balance, re-size, etc.*

I've been painting for nearly a year now, but I've never been happy with the TMM work I've done. This community has been really helpful in giving advice on some other pieces I've done, so I decided to pick out a handful of mini's with a lot metal on them, and put up a WIP. Hopefully, by the time I'm done I'll be much better. The finalists are: From left to right - 77055 - Anval Thricedamned, Evil Warrior - 77094 - Trista, the White Wolf - 77168 - Battleguard Golem - 77023 - Barnabus, Human Warrior - 77058 - Almaran the Gold, Paladin I've started prepping Almaran, hopefully I'll get some time to paint this weekend and be able to get some pictures up.
