My entry to the "2014 Year of the Giants" diorama section. I planned this after painting my Ettin for the contest as a single figure entry (since he qualified) and I finished way to early so I just had to add a few things. I had never built a base of this nature before or for that matter any base beyond the one they come with. So after watching Willen, Cash, Corporea and others, I figured I needed some practice before finishing this one. I have now finished (still early) and I hope you like it. I modified the female gnome Ingrid by removing the gem and weapon she had and repositioned her arm to be ready to tug the rope as Nor'Okk charged Kord. I apologize up front for my photography skills but this is the best I could manage and no photo touch ups, other than white balancing were done. This is where we pick up the action as per the story line. The Challenge! First the background... The villagers have been having trouble lately with a large Ettin that has been raiding thier mountain fish stores and they have asked our intrepid friends for some help. After scouting the area Kord decided that a mountain path leading from the fish nets would be the best place to meet the Ettin and issue his challenge. His two travelling companions, Ingrid and Hellakin Goregutter, feel that Kord needs some assitance and set up a trap to help bring the Ettin down to thier size! We now join the troop as Kord issues his challenge to Nor'Okk Comments and critique are welcome.
