Husband has asked me to paint up Isabeau Laroche as Captain Marvel. He saw some pictures of it done on Tumblr a while ago and thought it was the neatest thing. So I am going to attempt to recreate it. When I was initially asked I didn't think I was nearly good enough to pull it off but I think where I am now I can do it. I'll be using this photo as reference: The emblem on her chest will go onto Isabeau's shield as seen in original mini photos.
So in the midst of the hooplah surrounding Bones 3, I decided to post up the mini I finished last night, the lovely Isabeau Laroche. I've actually painted this sculpt of her before, but it was horrendous (or I think so now) so I ordered another copy of her and did her up. I'm much happier with this take on her. She has eyebrows! It's a weird thing to be proud of, but I like how they turned out. I also attempted some freehand on her shield, tossing on the holy symbol of Sol, a deity in my homebrew D&D setting. Anyway, I hope you like her!
Here are five Bones I painted up to represent the PC's in my Pathfinder game (we're playing the Kingmaker campaign). With these I basically tried to shoot for the best tabletop standard I could muster; I did want them to look good as they are the protagonists of a game we might be playing for some time. However, I also wanted to get them done before the campaign was over (I'm slow), and I knew that my players would soon be handling them at the gaming table with their coffee-stained, pizza-greased little paws (hi guys!). First up is Oviara the Cleric (of Iomedae, Goddess of honor, justice,
Isabeau Laroche is one of my favorite Klocke figures. I used the bones version as practice for the metal figure, as well as my first venture into NMM-land. The steel came out ok, the gold not so good. All together, though, she came out as I pictured in my mind. Comments and critiques are very welcome. I'm looking to improve.
