Trista is one of my favorite sculpts; I really love that she is in practical (but still super cool) armor. I wasn't that keen on her existing sword, so I swapped it out for one of the swords on the sprues that came with Bones 3 (I think). So far, I have some basic lighting blocked in and have done much of the work on her face and hair.

Here is my take of 77094 Trista the White Wolf. I painted this last year but have just got round to finishing the basing. As always comments or feedback welcome.

Hi, I'm Laoke and you may remember me from such threads as Bones! Do They Sink or Drown? and Reaperbryan, Like Unto A Tiny God?. I haven't been painting much of late: been planning fiendish evil plans (mainly around swapping jobs, cities, and marrying the twisted evil artist of my dreams). But a colleague of mine started a D&D campaign and asked if she could have a figure to represent her axe-wielding Paladin o'Shield Bashing Doomâ„¢. And, like the fool I am, I said yes! I took in my stash of human female fighters with shields, and she chose 77094: Trista, the White Wolf - I figured I could do a weapon swap easily enough, and I absolutely adore the figure. My colleague is a russian living in New Zealand, so I went with a Red + Yellow motif for the figure. First of all I put down the base coats: my apologies for the quality of the photos - my normal camera is in the shop. Then I spent some time pretty much screwing the figure up and swapping the weapon out because I forgot to do it before I put down the base coat. This is the finished result: it's not what I'd consider my best work, but it was a lot of fun to get to this point : ) Also, I finished off a project I started last year: 77029: Silverhorn, Unicorn painted up from purple.

The survey mentioned unicorns or winged beasts, nothing boring or pink. I had done winged creatures for my last 2 exchanges ... I thought unicorns need to come in more colors than just white (good) and black (evil) how about bay? and what if I included a woman with the same hair and skin colors? I originally planned for the three on a single base, but I couldn't make the positioning work. Instead the unicorns and warrior got their own bases, but using the same technique, so they could all be occupying a single meadow. I am pretty sure I went back and fixed the paint chipping, visible in these.

I actually finished this a few weeks back, but things got hectic, and I never posted photos Anywho, Trista ended up being one of my favourite minis in my new collection, and I think one of the better painted too. Really pleased with her eyes

I know there is more I could do with Trista (like take the highlights on her back skirt/cloak thing up), but I wanna move on to other figures. And she's been hitting the table already as a mini for an NPC in my game, soooo I'm calling her done! I did drybrush her and make an attempt at eyes, though the light may have washed out that detail on her face. Working up the nerve to paint larger figures as well.

It's been awhile! I haven't had a lot of time to paint, sadly, between taking 18 hours this semester and working full time, on top of starting up a blog, trying to maintain some semblance of a social life, and sleeping somewhere in there. Trista here I used in a game a few times over the past couple of weeks. She's still not done, despite having hit the table before. In my bi-weekly D&D game, she's a stand in for Astra Garou, a werewolf paladin of the goddess Luna. The game is a homebrew one in a setting I've been making up for several months now. It's going well! Astra here got the party to help her wipe out a castle full of evil werewolves. Only one PC got infected. She got cured tonight. Anyway, enough blabbering. ON WITH THE PICTURES!

So...I'm just a hair late posting this...my painted piece back from the Winter Exchange for Oneboot. I've not done much with demi-metallic metals in the past, so it was quite exploratory for me...also: I never plan to do runes that tiny again without the aid of magnification.

In our Reign of Winter campaign, my boyfriend is playing a cleric of Sarenrae with the new Exalted prestige class from Inner Sea Gods. He requested a weapon swap to scimitar (deity's favored weapon) and I also switched the shield, as I felt the wolf theme didn't really fit. Cailly, Exalted of Sarenrae (77094 Trista the White Wolf): Her shield: Spell components pouch: Overhead shot:

I've been painting for nearly a year now, but I've never been happy with the TMM work I've done. This community has been really helpful in giving advice on some other pieces I've done, so I decided to pick out a handful of mini's with a lot metal on them, and put up a WIP. Hopefully, by the time I'm done I'll be much better. The finalists are: From left to right - 77055 - Anval Thricedamned, Evil Warrior - 77094 - Trista, the White Wolf - 77168 - Battleguard Golem - 77023 - Barnabus, Human Warrior - 77058 - Almaran the Gold, Paladin I've started prepping Almaran, hopefully I'll get some time to paint this weekend and be able to get some pictures up. Two Reaper Bones I painted recently for gaming. They're just tabletop jobs, but they were fun to paint! This one has an insert base for when the D&D character is enlarged.
