  1. The first two are in the stlye of Claude Monet the second two in the style of the post impressionist Georges Seurat. the green one I painted with a needle, the orange with a size 0 brush.
  2. Johannes Vermeer 1632-1675 My Final pair of Baroque Lizardmen. I painted both of these in black and white then glazed on the blue, brown and ochre. The bases have many colors in homage to his walls. It needs more explanation, but I'm out of time WIP
  3. One of my goals this year is to work through my pile of unpainted Bones from all the kickstarters. First up, a mini that was used as a test piece and then put back to gather dust for a few years. It was painted fairly quickly using glaze technique, which helped keep me from fussing over the details. One mini off the shelf of shame (or rather, out of the plastic box of shame).
  4. I realized recently that part of the reason that I'd been feeling some painting burnout, is that I was spending all my hobby time painting people. PCs, with detailed armour, tiny faces, squinty little eyes, and thousands of buckles. I'm going to give that a rest for a little while, and focus on painting some of the monsters, critters, big bads, and various other denizens of the fantasy worlds they'll eventually populate. Often, the detail isn't quite as fine, you get to paint different sorts of shapes, and there's a bit more room for play. I already did a pack of Tre Manor KS1 orcs, but following those up, I picked 77154: Lizardman Spearman by Gene van Horn. I started with a layer of brown liner, then a few thin layers of P3 Ordic Olive over most of his skin. I mixed in some Reaper Polished Bone to lighten it for the chest and face.
  5. This guy was pretty fun to paint. I took a few cues from Schubert's version, but with a few stylistic changes... Mostly in that I can't paint like he does ;) The base was an adventure in new techniques for me as well, and documented in my thread down in the conversions presentation and terrain section. Questions, comments and criticism all welcome of course.
  6. Couple of Lizardman from my latest batch of photos. These guys are pretty quick paints, not a lot of unnecessary details bogging the process down, just some great textured areas that allow for quick depth with little effort. C+C welcome as always.
  7. This is the Group WIP thread for the Swamp Things set from the kickstarter. Here is an image of all four models with some possible paint choices that I have for them. I will be starting with Lizardman Warrior (the guy with the club).
