  1. Hello, on this mini I have try to dilute a lot the paint to make nice shades on the robe and on the cloak. What do you think about it ? ps: the pics are not very clean because I have take it with my low quality cellphone.
  2. I wanted to do a couple things with these guys. First, I wanted to see what I could accomplish in under 3 hours of work on a single mini. This included the prep, prime, and painting of each (though I didn't prime Sajan). And second, just play around with more Bones figures because, except for the bigger models, I admit to not being the biggest fan mostly due to the fuzzy details and cleaning the mold lines can be a pain on them. But I want to get to know them better because they're not going anywhere! And I have a lot of them now too. Here's what I got out of it - One, since I had a time constraint, I didn't obsess over getting every mold line smoothed out and I didn't do any green stuff patching and I just had to get over it, haha. Two, the sculpt really matters. Sir Conlan was easier compared to the other two. Three, I had to constantly remind myself not to hyper focus on little details as is my habit. An example would be faces. I spent about a half hour just on Alistrilee's face. (And these pictures don't do her justice, it looks way better in person, I think.)But that's part of the reason I wanted to try this - to see where I spend too much time and improve technique and habit along the way. And four, I know things could go faster if I gave in to more drybrushing, but certain things never look quite complete to me when I do that. Going to go back to hyper focusing on some of my other projects for now. But I'll definitely do this more often. Maybe a couple every other week or something like that.
  3. Finished our latest party member. The player really liked the way he looked when I was working on it.
  4. Another new party member. They picked out their mini and gave me some tips on their character.
  5. So this is the figure that I painted for the last quarterly Reaper FB contest. you know the one I didn't bother taking pictures for until it was too late and I never actually entered. Even though I finished paining it a week into the contest. Oh well. maybe I'll get off my broccoli for the next one.

  7. I've played around a bit with NMM on a couple of minis, but earlier this month I decided to sit down and really make an effort at it. For my test subject eager volunteer I chose Sir Conlan. He seems a good mini to practice NMM metal on since he has most of the upper body armor but not a lot of fiddly bits to worry about. Those of you interested in the boring bits already dropped by my WIP so we'll just skip to the pictures. I know one of the reasons people do NMM is for photography and it looks like it's about time for me to start reading up on the shutterbug section. Just for fun I snapped another pic against grey fabric under direct lighting, and then compared that to how it looked back in my WIP. Photographing details aside, he's a nice little tabletop dude that can now join the fun in Undermountain.
