I painted up the skeletons I had from Bones 2 together with a Bone Fiend. The Skeletons were fun to do, the Bone Fiend a bit less as the model was quite undefined. For the skeletons, I took some inspiration from the game Morrowind for the colours, bases and shield designs.

Did up a couple batches of these guys for fun. Total of about 4 hours work to do the 6 of them. Had fun tinkering with making rusty swords... I think they came out pretty OK. What do you folks think?

Some these guys were in another thread, but I based them since then. This is the last of the guys I started on memorial day, done for tabletop, and as a break from a a figure I was taking more time with.

These were started on memorial day, and I got used to doing quick skeletons, so while I was slowly building up layers on a pregnant woman from oathsworn, I knocked out these gentleman. My free hand obviously has a long way to go still.

So I got my Reaper Order a couple of days ago and inside was a "treat" from Reaper for their Ghoulie Bag. The treat consisted of a Giant Spider and a Sword/Board Skeleton. I figured, I needed a break from serious work for a few hours and decided that the skeleton was a perfect size to fit on the spider, so I went to work sculpting a saddle/seat for the skeleton to be placed on the spider so that he was mounted. I then thought to myself this is for grins and giggles, so that's their names! I present to you a very quick (for me) tabletop (didn't worry about mold lines) modification of a spider riding skeleton! Figures: Skeleton 77242 and Giant Spider 77025 Manufacturer: Reaper of course Materials: Bones Sculptors: Gene Van Horne for the spider and unsure for the skeleton as it's not tagged. A quick WIP spoiler here as I don't feel like doing a whole WIP thread for this, but if people have questions I can answer them: C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated, thanks for looking!

I had a goal to paint 30 skeletons in October (see my work in progress though I am bad at posting progress pics). Well they are finally done! Photos behind a spoiler since so many: Thanks for reading!

Two more skellys. These things are like popcorn: I'm particularly fond of the rusty sword. I spent over and hour trying unsuccessfully to paint a TMM sword, then just gave up in frustration and whipped out the rust in 10 minutes. The recipe for the rust was HD Umber Brown, Burning Orange, and Fireball Orange dabbed on that order, over a base of Tarnished Steel mixed with a little Black. I think I will paint all weapons rusty from now on, even on adventurers. P.S. I've been putting a strip of painter's tape around the outside edge of the base when I start, and pulling it off only at the end. I think it gives a nice clean look.

I painted up 5 of the skeletons from Bones II, originally for the April Resolutionary Challenge, but once I finished the paint job, I had a complete block on how to base them so fell off the challenge wagon. I wanted them to look like their tomb had been a bit mouldy and damp so I washed all the woods with a mix of green and grey ink, and tried to make the metals look really rusty and pitted.
