Some low hanging fruit. Two were "primed" with brown liner and painted dark to light, two were not and painted using glaze technique. An easy way to get a different look with the same paints.

Nothing too crazy, just some more barrels and crates I finished up the other day. I've been in a bit of a slump (real life has been a woof lately) so I needed to do something quick and easy that didn't really require much thought. Thanks for looking.

This is a recreation of our last session. The party was investigating an underground storage facility and ran across some toxic zombies. I heavily modified 80009 Rex Dark Future Hero, including a head swap from 50008 and a hand sculpted cross.

Today I went to Crate and Barrel! Er...I mean crates and barrels. I already had all the paints out for my table and benches, so I decided to paint up the two Bones crates and two Bones barrels I had to match, since I've decided I rather like how the table and benches turned out. Picture! Another Picture! I channeled Bob Ross while I was painting the small crate: "This little guy's leaning a bit. He's tired, he's had a hard life. So I'll give him a friend, right there. Everybody needs a friend. :)" Group photo! Which includes a currently WIP Sir Forscale, who is not fully convinced that the height of this stack of goods is within safety standards. The wolf took advantage of the distraction and happily removed the rest of the food from the table. Colors used (in order): Brown Liner (primer) Mahogany Brown (wood) Chestnut Brown (wood) Oiled Leather (wood) Leather Brown (wood) Polished Leather (cork) (P3) Pig Iron (metal bands) These are the figures I painted for Days 3-4 of my "paint one mini per day all of November" challenge. Just finishing up some minis for the end of the year and the end of the Resolutionary painting challenge for December and 2015. Thanks for reading!

I have been feeling blocked by a diorama I want to turn out really good, so I have spent several days working layers onto the miniatures involved, or avoiding picking out color schemes for others. To heck with that. today I painted crates. brown liner, random shades of brown, drybrushed on and a few highlights added. (using ginger cookie, straight or mixed with the base color) I didn't worry about the fact that the crates were not square, or fill in places where the sprue was cut off. I just painted them. officially that's five figures painted, and I an update my sig. - I also painted an orc, but I think ill add some texture to his base. So not fully compleated. A good day to paint. November update: found the other barrel & made another crate

'bout half an hour was spent on these, in desperation that I would not finish the RPChallenge in time otherwise. The zombie in particular was a failed experiment, where I attempted to use a dark red (of some sort, I cannot recall) as a base layer for the shaded basecoating instead of a very dark purple. I haven't painted true metallics in a while and thought I should try with the drow gate! It was nice to finally put that clockwork brass to use. Barrel's a barrel.

This barrel (keg, really) was briefly used to hold a halfling during the Pathfinder Society scenario God's Market Gamble. Those of you who have played or run it can probably imagine the hijinks that ensued. Beyond that, it's a barrel. Took me about 5 minutes, I think. Something like that.
