  1. I made a thing today... Iffin' I wasn't a Griffin this would have to be classified as a Frogcident. I will add part numbers to the tags if anyone can ID some of them.
  2. Started this figure over a year ago and decided it needs to be finished. I didn’t like the green I first choose, it was to bright.
  3. I did some reorganizing of my painting desk over the weekend and thus finally pulled out the lightbox that my friend gave me for my birthday back in August. So I took a few pictures of Mashaaf (ok, a lot of pictures ) so I thought I should do a show off thread for her. Here is her WIP thread: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/71909-guindyloo-vs-mashaaf-in-5-days/where I painted her in 5 days with a size 0 brush for OneBoot's Purple Cat Challenge. Thank you for scrolling through all of my many, many pictures. There's a few things I would've done differently had I not
  4. I have some time off of work with the impending holiday so as always, it's a perfect opportunity to chuck my marbles out the window and take on a paint slopping challenge! If you're not familiar with the Purple Cat Challenge, I highly recommend that you head over here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/71342-introducing-the-purple-cat-challenge-mashaaf-in-5-days-wip/page-1 where you can see OneBoot establishing the challenge and defeating Mashaaf herself! Who wouldn't want to take on a challenge set forth by a purple kitty? So here are the roolz: 1) Thou shalt not use any bru
  5. Welcome, welcome, one and all, to the very first Purple Cat Challenge! Most of you are probably familiar by now with the 7 day Goblin Challenge; the one where you can only use brushes Size 0 or smaller, and being kinda crazy is a common prerequisite. If you haven't heard of this madness before, here's the official rules, and here's where the insanity all began. Now, after completing two of them, I've become rather fond of these challenges, and how they've stretched me to my limits and beyond as a painter. Something I've definitely noticed, though, is that while the Goblin Challenges a
  6. I painted this up a few months ago. I've still been meaning to flatten out the base and paint it but here is everything so far. I had a lot of fun with this one.
  7. Kind of making this up as I go, not really sure what I'm doing. Usually I plan color schemes ahead of time but I'm winging this one I might go whiter on the fleshy parts, and a bit more brown on the 'shell'
  8. My take on Mashaaf, as a Broodmother defending her slimy clutch! The spots along her side are supposed to be photophores to glow in the dark caverns, pin points of light to lure prey to her maw. The skeleton is from Cinder's base her WIP thread: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/62524-77375-mashaaf-the-broodmother/
  9. I finally finished painting old maggot-breath, Bones 77375: Mashaaf. It's a big figure, which made it a bit tricky to handle while painting. In the first photo, I've included a figure of your friendly neighbourhood psycho-killer and vivisectionist for scale. Just in case you haven't already seen it, I kept a work-in-progress blog here.
  10. Well this my take on the Mashaaf figure. Mashaaf the Devourer of Worlds. ~She is One of the Great old ones from the outer planes. Her home is a deep chasm in the bowls of the earth. She only surfaces to feed during great cataclysmic events or when called upon by her followers with a horrific ceremony. Legends say she feeds on the nightmares of people during times of strife.~ The figure to me looks to be a amalgamation of Slug, Maggot, Caterpillar, Spider and maybe some Crab. I tried to make it look as though her top was possibly a hard surface the stone fused to it. I also tried
  11. OK this is my first try at a wip post. This will be on the Mashaaf the Great Old one from the bones 2. First thing I will say is that this guy is ugly, in a good way. The other (and I hope the exception) is that his molding in some parts are bad. I have only opened 2 figures so far from my bones 2 ks, the Kraken was pretty good as far as mold lines. This guy on the other hand was not. For the main body I hand carve a lot off and also heat the pieces to the point of melting to get a good fit. Also it has a lot of seam lines that I had to try and clean. Didn't deal with all of them, but tried to
  12. I am pleased as punch to have received my Bones II kickstarter. I do have one quick question for anyone out there. Does Mashaaf have a right arm and a left arm, or are both identical? If the former, then I may have gotten two left arms. I remember that a few of the models from Bones I had the same problem- so it might be worth checking a few before they go out. Thanks!
