That's right, fellas and lady-fellas, it's time for CYBER-APES! 80001, Ape-X, is another mini I painted before I learned about Bones not playing nicely with aerosol primer. He was gooey and sticky for some years, so I simple-green stripped and repainted him when I learned that was an option. (He did make a guest appearance in this thread https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/83280-miskatonic-faculty-biology-department/ ) This repaint is very similar but much better, though the eye and mouth still gave me some trouble. 50214 I got many years ago. Repositioned his limbs to cover two targets at once. His snarl seemed perfect for chomping a cigar, so I glued on a toothpick end. Also gave him a top hat, because why not. In retrospect, a bowler would have been better, but hindsight is 20/20. And a group shot, including my own Professor Pongo. If these three ever team up with the Simian Separatists ( https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/84447-spacefuture-simian-separatists-eurekas-boiler-suit-apes-pic-heavy ) it will be a dark day for humanity indeed!

And here's the last of the faculty: Bones' 80066, the Psychologist; Black Cat Bases' Female Scientist (from their medical/asylum/science section), and Brigade Games' Jessica, Female Scientist w/Recording Equipment. I'm afraid I'm not great on the eyes (though some of that was a casting issue) and overpainted Jessica's face. I'm happy with the different scales (Jessica is a bitty wee lady) and the pastels. They're working on an experiment! "As you can see, with the modified Neural Helmet acting on his forebrain in *these* areas, Brutus here is as docile as a baby rabbit!" "What if we switched it to stimulate the cortex *here* and *here*?" "Let's find out! Do you have your pencil ready?" Featuring a special guest appearance by Bones 80001, Ape-X, as "Brutus," and a better look at Herbert the Owl from the TerrainCrate Wizard's Study set

This is another Bones miniature designed by Jason Wiebe — 80001: Ape-X. I think that a gorilla's skin would tend to be blacker than this, but that made it very monochromatic, so I browned it up a bit. And here it is again, photographed from every angle, just in case you really need to know what it would look like from a rear three-quarter view.

Painted this guy up a while ago. Intended to use him as part of a diorama, but ultimately decided to leave him by his lonesome. Entered him in the Spaceship Superstar contest and the Year of Giants contest. He was a fun experiment in shaded metallics. Clockwork Brass is so fun!

I am painting up my bones Ape-X based on inspiration from this picture http://www.deviantart.com/art/White-Gorilla-270784101 and I want to try NMM on him as well. I do have the L2PK3 on NMM, but I have only read the instructions. Since there is only a little metal on this figure, I can take my time to get it right. So far I have only done base coats. The armor hand will be a red metal and the gun a blue metal and the other metal parts chrome. Depending on how this goes, I might do OSL on the cyber eye as well.
