Here's a fine, fat pair of critters, looking only a little too happy to have found lunch. I didn't like the way they smiled at me, my camera shook as I snapped a picture. Who is this carefully masked (and socially distanced) man? A few well placed pistol shots and the creatures began to retreat. More dangers in store, there appears to be a giant snake in the tower ruins!
Here are two Bones figures that I painted last October, at the Reaper ArtistCon. They were my demonstration figures in the class on Monochrome Painting that I taught there. The only paints were black and white. After doing most of the painting in the 2-hour class, I spent another hour or two painting each one, touching up the painting with smoother blends and crisper lining. Monochrome often goes fast! I didn't try to paint detailed eyes on either one -- just a black outline and a white dot, to stand out from the rest of the face. This archer is 70049 Arthrand Nightblade, Elf Ranger, sculpted by Bobby Jackson: And this fellow is 80007 The Black Mist, sculpted by Bob Ridolfi: Enjoy, Derek
Hanging out at Reaper for the Kickstarter party got me inspired to get my brushes and paints back out. I used to post fairly regularly several years ago, but life got busy and my hobby took a back seat. Anyway, it was nice to paint again! My friend plays a gunslinger in our Pathfinder game, and this mini from the Bones line works great for his character. I painted him up last night... tabletop is my aim, so I didn't spend a ton of time on the fiddly details. I'm happy with the way his duster turned out.
