  1. WHO GOES THERE?! Another alien, "The Assimilator" from Antediluvian Miniatures. This sculpt is based on the THING from "Who Goes There?" as interpreted by an Classics Illustrated cover artist. The illustration (pretty true to the original text!): The mini: The sculpt alone is delightful, but the opportunities for paranoia in your space opera or horror game are just too good to pass up!   2. Miskatonic's most intrepid researchers go to the ends of the earth for their research projects--and some ends are more terminal than others! Here's Reaper's Antarctic Explorer, 80072. (Though I'm sure he could work as an Arctic explorer, too, in a pinch.) Bearded, bespectacled, and well-insulated, this guy is perfect for the Pabodie Expedition. The barrel of his rifle was unfixably bendy, so I replaced it with a portion of straight-pin. Used the same color scheme as my Zeppelin crew.   3. My girlfriend's been fascinated by Antarctic exploration for a few months so when I saw that Reaper make an Antarctic Explorer figure, I had to get it and paint it for her. Here he is photographed in front of a porcelain iceberg she picked up at an art exhibit. She was really happy that I'd painted it for her but it took her about 30 seconds to say, "Isn't that the main guy from that Thing movie??"...
