I promise, at some point I'll learn to take better pics... and hopefully paint better too. These are what I got painted this month, and it was all for the RCL (can't check anything off my personal bingo card challenge, but that's ok). Up first, the trio I did with @Kuroneko and @Thoramel. We did the Pathfinder Goblin Warchanter, and each modified it a little bit. I did a fairly simple conversion, as when I looked at the model I envisioned a goblin jumping rope, so I cut away the sword in her left hand, bent the whip down to join with putty, and resculpted parts of her hand and hair. It underwent two revisions: (1) I wanted goblin madness, so the flames on the ground came about (sculpted with some Liquitex Flex Paste) and (2) while painting the rope, I wanted even more madness, so I changed it from a normal rope color to trying to make it looked like she had just ripped a length of her latest victim's intestine out to use for her rope. For a duo with @Maledrakh, I painted Aviriel Tellerion. Nothing really special about her, I just wanted to practice some eyes, and a Werner Klocke sculpt is always good for that. My big regret is that I forgot to put some shading around the eye socket, but lesson to remember for the next mini. Lastly, I tried to paint up a tribute to my late feline buddy Gabe for a large group with @Thoramel @Kuroneko @Inarah and @Maledrakh. It didn't turn out as I wanted, Gabe's fur coloring was a challenge. This is nothing close to what he looks like, but I gave it my best shot. I tried some wetblending, it went horribly wrong, tried some other things that also went wrong, but it was a learning experience. So here is not-Gabe. Thanks for looking.

This is my first to-completion detailed mini outside of the three LTP-2 figures. I'm looking to start a Rise of the Runelords game and needed a warchanter figure; this one from Reaper is wonderful in its detail and goblinesque insanity. Unfortunately, I think the molds are a little off-kilter on the Bones version; there are several spots on the figure where one side butts up against a flat spot from the other half of the mold - you can even see one of them in the Reaper website image. I found myself departing from the LTP painting order and starting with "inner" areas like eyes and mouth as well as isolated details like the whip and blades. Skin and leather were left until late, with details on top of those the last. Don't know if this is a good thing or not, but I felt more sure in painting up to those areas rather than filling them in and inevitably splattering over multi-layered skin tones. Thanks to the folks at CMPA for the painting tips as I'm learning. Wish I could have been to the holiday party; finished this ravaging beauty as compensation.

Hello everyone. Here are some goblins a painted that I'm sure many of you are familiar with. I have not posted anything in a long time because married life kind of takes up lots of my time :)

77024 Goblins 77349 Goblin Command (2) 89002 Pathfinder Goblin Pyros 89003 Pathfinder Goblin Warriors (!!! What?!? Missed these in my search and they are awesome! Next order... ) 89004 Pathfinder Goblin Warchanter I never really liked Goblins much, until Pathfinder. Something about these little monsters and the reimagining with so many teeth changed my viewpoint. So much chaos. So many pranks. So much fun. Cheap Bones Goblins? Sure! Sign me up! Still in the thinking stages of this and I don't know that I'll use all of the figures from each of the boxes, but I'm thinking of doing a display piece and calling it "20 Goblins!" (which will probably only have 13 figures... because Maths). Though now, that I write this out, I may have to go back and look at what I'm doing. Mostly I wanted something fun to paint and took the fairly decent ones and just threw brown liner on them. There are some mold lines that could be cleaned up. Well... we can call these test figures and I can replace them with another $10 $20 order... ha! About half of these guys are going to have to go to the Vat of Boiling Doom to fix poses and / or weapons. I also noticed that many of these are very hydrophobic... more so than some of the other Bones I have gotten. No worries... more Liner and done. Then started adding some skin tones last night on the Hangout.

Hello friends!!! Here is a little diorama I threw together for the Reaper Fan Contest that was being run on facebook. The goal was for a massive group of us to each produce a Ursula (Bones version) and have tons of participation to get everyone painting, to learn, and to see the various different iterations that could be thrown together. I couldn't just paint Ursula on the broccoli base, so I ended up with this small diorama because of texting with chaosscorpion and letting my imagination get the better of me. "Two matriarchs, each a leader by her own right, struggle for control of territory" In this scene Ursula has been led into a dangerous trap. The female goblin leader has taunted Ursula's mount into a deadly opening for a goblin spear while another goblin seeks to dismount Ursula. Hope you all enjoy!

Hello. This is my second topic post. Yesterday I posted my beginner metal minis, and now I am posting the Bones I have painted. I missed the first kickstarter but my friend went in on it, so he bought me a Kaladrax as a gift (never knowing I would discover it only cost him $10) and also handed me a pile of minis he never intended to paint, including some really nice ones I would have paid for. I pledged to the second kickstarter with that same friend, so shortly I will be getting a boatload of new stuff and at the rate I paint I will never need more. My partner has already told me I'm not allowed to buy into Bones 3 but we will disuss that again if and when Bones 3 is anounced. Anyway, without further ado... This was my first Bones, fittingly. I added static grass but it was all one shade so it doesn't show up well, even in person. However I am quite happy with the layered highlights on the back of his cloak as it was the first blending that went this well. This was my second attempt. I got new static grass so it shows up better on the base. I tried to make her skirt look more patchwork with different colors but I only have a couple browns and by the time it had been washed and highlighted a little all the contrast had disappeared. This is an orc marauder. I followed the paint scheme on the website because I like red. On the sword I used some corrosion made by GW. Next time I will use less of it because when I tried to do a clean silver edge it picked up the grit and looked bad. I really like the work I did on his skin that is too subtle for this picture, although you can see some of the darkest folds between muscles. There is a nice subtle yellowish tint on the highest highs that is extremely well blended, not even sure how I managed that. This sculpt is an assassin but his studded leather and dual wielding said "ranger" to me, so that's the way I went. Unfortunately I can't claim credit for the paint because I only did the basecoat, the details were all done by a friend. The base, on the other hand, was all me. I love the "log" that was just a twig I found outside. Amazing effect with the peeling bark makes it look like a fallen log. I guess I can't claim credit for that either, that was Nature's doing. Not so happy with this one. Not enough shading, I wasn't happy with the wash I did. I used some more of the corrosion and added the GW rust effect too. That I kind of liked. This one didn't really turn out great either. I have several different browns but they all kind of faded together in the end. I also tried to do the stones under his feet like sandstone I had watched a youtube demo on but it didn't turn out right. Oh well, I have plenty of goblins to practice on. I won't need to make such long posts in the future because I will do them one mini at a time.

Hello and greetings fellow Reaper members. I am here with what i hope will be a consistent wip. I am working on Goblins. I have a unique fondness for Goblins. Sometime back in the late 2000's I had a successful MTG Goblin deck. There was the early incendiary version. Then there was the later beat down deck. Most of the time I won in five turns. These goblins will be given away as a Christmas gift to my family members. Long ago I came across some goblin pillars. I painted them using testors enamels and gave them a marble finish. That piece was given to a close high school friend. I currently have two sets of the 89003 pathfinder goblins. I also have two sets of 77024 that i will paint soon. I am waiting for the goblin war chanter and goblin pyro set to arrive here. I am going to paint the first batch in a typical green. The second set will be painted as my favorite goblins from the Lorywn set. I am doing two batches of each the same way. I am going to use Future floor polish to seal them. I will then begin experimenting using oils. I still need to get some brushes and thinner. It will be a learn as I go experiment. The second set will have yellow, orange, black and brown colorings. Some will be getting markings similar to hyenas. The goblin pyros will have some osl. I am also experimenting with my photo setup to produce nice crisp images. I have ditched the light box and am using a dslr. I am using two clamp lamps. with fluorescent bulbs. If anyone has some more tips on how I could get better photos I would appreciate it . I have been reading through the shutter bug forum. I believe it may be some more trial and error and better photo backdrops. I am proud that these photos are better then my first posting. The more i practice the better I hope to become. Here is where i am at with the first goblin with two different backgrounds. I call him sharp mike in honor of the recipient. Gracious Zoot.

Here's my pathfinder goblins - I played with OSL at different intensities, I think my lesson has been learned seeing them in photos - more intense is better. Then my orcs - I posted the two handed sword guy a long time ago, and the archer as well, but I finally got around to batch painting the rest of them. Hmm I had two different pics of the Orcs anticipating some focus issues, but there didn't seem to be any, but I have 'em hosted offsite so I'll post 'em anyway...
