  1. 3 new figures and a chance to get the original 10 from a previous project. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1240892696/three-nomads?ref=discovery&term=miniature
  2. Finished her up the other night. She's been on my desk for years, part of a batch of anthropomorphs I started and didn't quite finish. Yes, the colors are that bright. She has a ton of detail in her clothing but the body is kind of bland, so I went with brighter colors for interest.
  3. Ok, last picture done, probably on to the shepherd next, so enjoy!
  4. Got another done, enjoy! I hope you all aren't sick of the Anthro critters yet.
  5. Here's a few snaps oh Harrek the Otter Cleric, a future Christmas present. Enjoy!
  6. This is a pretty awesome Julie Guthrie figure that has been in my paint queue for years. Was having trouble finishing it, but found inspiration over the weekend.
  7. One more mouse for the order of battle pool for Gencon. I’m behind on basing, but should get to him over the weekend.
  8. So, a very long time ago, somewhere around the turn of the millennia, when I started buying minis (not counting that dragon I bought in the early 90s...which I should get around to painting one of these days....) I came across a miniature that would change the course of history! Well, my history anyway, because if I hadn't seen it I likely wouldn't be posting about all these other minis I bought because if it, not to mention all the butterfly bunny effects that that one change would have made to the timeline....but I digress. One that faithful day I spotted the legendary (and apparently back
  9. Johnny Lauck, who retired his Mega Miniatures business recently, ran a few Kickstarters before he retired in order to let people order some sets. A couple of years ago he ran one of a cat-people dungeon crawl party. I saw some people here regret they were going out of circulation. Well, apparently Armorcast has picked up the license and is offering half a dozen anthropomorphic cat-people dungeoneers. No commercial links, but if you go to the Armorcast site and look under “Miniatures,” they’re in the category “Animal Adventurers.” They have an Old
  10. One more Burrows and Badgers figure for Gencon games... I’ll post more once I get the basing done, which may not be until Friday.
  11. Today’s lunch project: Also speed practice, so this was 45 minutes on the timer.
  12. Not the best pictures, but Warlady asked me about the sizes of various anthropomorphic animals, because I've been working on Burrows and Badgers. Here's a Reaper mousling with an Oathsworn mouse. The Oathsworn is a little chunky, but the mousling is even more exaggerated. I'm not sure that I'd mix them. They are similar in height, though. I have two Darksword Critter Kingdom figures. This hedgehog bard is also exaggerated compared to the Oathsworn, but possibly in a reasonable range for size. My other Darksword figure is a penguin rogue, s
  13. I had to take the car in for some service today, so I threw my travel paint kit in my bag and grabbed a few Burrows and Badgers figures. My brother recently decided that we should play Burrows and Badgers, and has a war band painted up. I don't know if I'll have mine done by Gencon or not, but at least I now have a figure of my own. Of the figures which I picked for my first batch, one's a landsknecht and two are in tartans, so I decided I'd better start with somebody simpler. When I checked the Oathsworn site for a hint on the weasel fur markings, I wa
  14. This little guy is going to a friend. The example on the Dark Sword website has his hat as a weird helmet and the dagger as metal. I saw the hat as a silly hat, and the dagger as a pair of porcupine quills. I attempted to get the fur/prickles roughly accurate for a hedgehog, which means that the back has really severe shading - the base is dark on their prickles, but with pale tips. I also freehanded a little slogan on the hat strap. Oh! And his knapsack strap only extends across his front. No cloak for it to be under in the back.... and there was no strap. So I attempted to
  15. There's a French wargame called "Alkemy" which has a faction of pseudo-Egyptian cat-people called the Khaliman Republic (or République Khalimane in the original). A few years back I snagged a starter set of 5 resin figures I found on clearance because, well, cat people. Currently I am involved in an elaborate and fascinating campaign combining White Wolf's World of Darkness (the one in Vampire the Masquerade second edition and Werewolf the Apocalypse) with its "Exalted" game, second edition (which was originally sold as the prehistory of the World of Darkness, although they backed
  16. Another critters kickstarter, only 9 days to go: Sadly the pictures on the campaign page are rather dark and it isn't easy to see much detail.
  17. I have been threatening to finish Zoe The Golden Retriever sometime this week. Last nights sixteen degrees F provided the impetus ! I was too cold to sleep well. So Here is ZOE. This is a beautiful, soul full piece to work on. Capturing the emotion in that small face, getting everything painted and mounted proved quite the challenge to me. In the end Zoe was a real treat to do. Not that often I really get into a feeling level while painting a miniature. Mr. Summers must have had a beautiful and loving companion in Zoe, it came through the Sculpt ! Hope I di
  18. Thumper the ranger. His family was eaten by the same Ogres that slayed the Tortoise Cleric's Brother. So he joins him.
  19. Some years back I acquired a starter box of the Khaliman Republic (basically Egyptian cat people) for the French wargame Alkemy. They are the first small-scale resin I've ever assembled or painted. Anyhow, one of our gamers wished to play a Ceilican (magical were-cat) in a heavily modded World of Darkness campaign. Of the five figures in the set this one appealed the most. It appears to be a sort of lynx-man but with a long tail. There may be some flash or something. I've been reluctant to get too slicey with the resin. Here the figure is prim
  20. Here is the mighty Shrew-zerker, from the Burrows and Badgers line (and game) from Oathsworn. Sorry about the shininess, as he's a for play piece so I gloss coated him, and its been too humid or damp to dull coat him for the last couple of weeks. I'll update with some new pics whenever I get a chance to spray him. He's a great little fig (Oathsworn's anthropomorphic figs are scaled like the actual animals are, so shrews are pretty tiny, around 20mm) and was fun and quick to paint. He's been done for a while but my basing stuff was all away from moving to a new pa
  21. Next we have the Shrew Warrior. Again, sorry about the shininess. I'll post new pics once the weather cooperates for dull coating. Another fun little guy, full of character. Update! It actually stopped raining long enough to spray some dull coat. I've also been messing around with my phone and background to get less washed out pics.
  22. This is from GCT Studios and their Bushido game. A fellow player asked me to paint it, and while I don't normally copy the studio art, that was how she wanted it. Sorry for the bad photo and harsh lighting, my photo booth is off limits right now.
  23. tl;dr: I'm painting bunnies!! (and other critters) I'm finally wrapping up my painting projects left over from December, so I guess it is time to finally decide on some things to paint in 2017. One of my goals for this year is to actually play some of the games I've bought figs for. So far finding time to get a minis game going with the gaming group has been rather slow...been passing around the Frostgrave book since the fall, everyone seems interested, but haven't moved beyond that yet. So, moving on to my other potential person to play against, my wife. While she like playing games,
  24. This is an old Grenadier models lion-man that I finished the other day. Tabletop as usual. I hope you like him.
