  1. So I saw Janan and saw this in my head. I bought the piece and modded it to fit as you can see here. I have conferred with Ub3r about it a bit and I still can not find what I'm looking for. Attitude: Contemplation after a long battle and/or about to step into the final battle. She is tired but not worn out. She is resolute to see this to the end but deep down wishes it would have never come to pass. Artistic Direction: In the last two photo's you will see some lighting coming from the right side of the image (One closer than the other). The idea is to to have OSL in the photo. The shadows cast will also be painted. The metal piece you see in the lower three is a place holder (obviously). I can't seem to focus the image in my head to figure out who or what is standing there I bought slain miniature from Other World miniatures and didn't like how big they are on the Vignette base I was thinking of using Derek the Dim from Red-Box-Games. The pose and face of the miniature kind of has that, "I challenge you" appearance. I bought the Paladin Initiate and he was huge and didn't fit very well. The War Maiden did not either. I also thought, if I could find another figure that is standing at the bottom who fought with her in the battle. They too are tired yet contemplative about the end of the battle. My original thought was someone leaning on a weapon. Would like some help on this from my fellow Formnite and see what you think. I have not found a miniature that fits yet and goes with the scale of Janan. Janan seems to be a much much smaller miniature than normal. like a true 25mm (bottom of feet to eye) size. That is why I am looking at RBG miniatures as Tre Manor sculpts in small portions, hands, eyes and feet. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for stopping by. Y'all's insight would be awesome. Pictures speak a thousand more words than words.
  2. So I just finished playing Styx Master Of Shadows and I REALLY want to make a character in the future for an RPG based off of him. I am having trouble finding a miniature that is unique and similar to the main character Styx. Any help would be great. This guy is original. You'll understand if you play the game. Also, Side note from looking up photo for everyones reference, Styx Master of Shadows is a prequel to Of Orcs and Men. I also recommending playing Styx if you like Assassins Creed. The fighting mechanics are a bit annoying but once you get it is can be HIGHLY satisfying. ________________________________ Figure Finder Catalog: Part 1: Styx: Master of Shadows Part 2: Jabba Mod/Gang Boss Part 3: TAKE COVER!
  3. This Thread has been created to keep up with each other On Elder Scrolls Online. I figure it would be fun if we (Reaper Forumnites) All get on the same server and/or make a list of what servers we are on. Not that we necessarily have to play the game together but I think it would be nice to be able to ask for help and actually get it. Anyone who has ever played an MMO will understand that struggle. FORMAT: When you post I will have your Reaper ID. Then just provide the following Gamer Handle - Server: North America or Europe +Additionally, if you have a guild and would like to post the name fill free to add any details, and I will add it in.+ PC Players List Reaper ID--------------------------Character(s) Name--------------------------Server Girot Xyrene North America Morihalda Morihalda North America PS4 Player List Reaper ID--------------------------PS4----------------------------------------------Server redambrosia redambrosia99 North America XB1 Player List Reaper ID--------------------------XB1----------------------------------------------Server Arc 724 Arc 724 North America ___________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ Skills Calculator: TESO Life This site allows you to build a character, see some pre-built character for comparison, and basically everything else you will need: Skyshard locations, question, etc. ||//CRAFTING GUIDES\\|| Enchanting Alchemy Provisioning --------------------------- Blacksmithing Clothing Woodworking ||//Fishing Bait Reference\\|| Here are two images with the same information but in different formats.
  4. Garrick the Bold: 77008 Sculpted by Bobby Jackson For the Sir Forscale Contest I decided to take a try at this with two miniatures. Hope you like them. 1. Green and White Striped. Standard Metal Plate Armor _________________________________________________________________________ 2. Purple and Black: Black armor with Silver and white highlights. *These are both done with Metallic paints for the metals. Sir Forscale Contest entry page Accepted
  5. So here is the idea: I'm looking for miniatures that are "taking cover" or "cowering in fear." They will be added into terrain pieces/scatter pieces for games. I am look for all genre's. Sci-fi-, modern and fantasy are to top 3 but any kind of miniature would be appreciated. I can always convert them if i need to. Key Words: Cover Hiding Take Cover Shelter Cower On the note of conversion I thought about those mix and match plastic pieces too - Frostgrave spur came to mind. I have seen web sites that sell off just certain bits. Here are two suggestions from a Forumite. I like these and it is a jumping off point. 6. Hakon, Iconic Skald: 60182 Sculpted by Bobby Jackson This was a commission piece and one of the fastest I've ever done. Hope you guys like it. Here is the WIP for this piece
  7. FGVP01: Frostgrave Soliders Box Set This is only 5 of them. I'm painting them as a commission piece for a friend. There is a trick to this one though. He Wants me to paint the figures and not the bases. He is going to base them... So there's that... He has someone else doing the other 5. I am to make these guys all "Thugs" which in the Frostgrave book means, "Hand Weapons" only. I have a month to do these but I plan on getting them done in about a week or two. I started painting all of them - you can see the others in the backgrounded(unfocused) - but this guy is the one I put most of my attention on. I'll get better pictures later. I like this guy cause I positioned his head slightly to the side. It gave it more personality. Pictures later on, you'll see. I need to make the red pop some more. Trying a trick Ub3r told me about using Orange to brighten red. It's not show here but it worked!
  8. 60182: Hakon, Iconic Skald Sculpted by Bobby Jackson This is another commission piece for me. The character in the Patherfinder game we are play is a Ranger who throws axes. He liked this figure so much he bought it on the spot! Said he wanted it to have a kind of coloration at Boba Fett. So I'm working from that, kind of. Edit: I sculpted the base my self. It's just a simple brick pattern.
  9. I gave this as gift to a Battletech buddy, Wally. He told me a story when we first started playing about how in the mid 90's he would play with a group and use his Classic Ral Partha Stalker and just mow people down from long range. He spoke about it often and always tells the story to new players. I decided since he got me into Battletech and war gaming I would go all out for his birthday. In addition to this miniature I bought him a wet pallet, as he had never used one (i know how is that even possible), and a Battletech Mech Damage T-shirt I found on Amazon. He was blow away. Here's to you old friend! Cheers! I hope you guys like this one. I really like these Mech Warrior Online designs. They are modern and updated. They have the look i've always wanted in Battletech. You'll notice if you look hard enough you can see destroyed mech markings on one side and the name big WALLY on the other. The number "16" is for the 2016. And I went with a blue cockpit glass because the shirt I bought him was blue. I did a combination sand and flocking on the base. The sand is painted to look like rock. He (like my other mechs) is on an MDF hex base I purchased from Waresnal. Questions and comments are more than welcomes, Thank you my friends, ~Arc.
  10. Just finished this lance (plus 1) and thought I would show it around a bit. To see more detail photo's of the individual mechs please go to IB Studios Battletech Support Lance plus 1 Questions and comments are always welcome. Thank you my friends.
  11. So in my long and endless planning of a Star Wars campaign I thought of crime syndicates. I want a run in (or two, or a dozen) with the Hutt's and I would also like some with local gangs, space pirates and what not. I have been looking around for a while at different miniatures for such things. It's time to throw the net out to this fine Reaper Community So the campaign takes place WAY after the new Jedi Order. The Jedi are fully establish again like Episode on One/Two. (About 20 years BBY*). I have found two miniatures in the Reaper catalog that fit the bill. I like the look of these but they are not enough. I would really like an alien. I have also considered Infinity Miniature armies. Mixing and matching. If y'all have any recommendations please share them here, I greatly appreciate it! *BBY stands for Before the Battle of Yavin. The Battle of Yavin is the battle at the end of Star Wars A New Hope when the Rebels fought the empire and destroyed the first Death Star. __________________________________________ Figure Finder Catalog: Part 1: Styx: Master of Shadows Part 2: Jabba Mod/Gang Boss Part 3 TAKE COVER!
  12. So I was thinking of this more and more for a diorama I'm planning. What kind of pet would you imagine someone having on their ship? Additionally what kind of pet would you want on your ship? And why. Your ship being the one you own. Think Firefly, Han Solo, etc. Lastly, links to miniatures that correspond / pictures would be cool too. :)
  13. Nuclear Plant is the first piece and series of pieces I will be making for my wargaming endeavors. The idea of my pieces are that they will have multiple pieces: So instead of, "The building is now destroyed" and you remove it from the game board, you replace it with the completely destroyed version. On top of that, the constructed piece will have removable bits so it shows a change-over-time. I like a good atmosphere when I play. This piece I had in the back of my head during Thanksgiving last year. My sister-n-law made these desserts that came in these squarish cups. I turned them upside down and the follow is what I saw. Supplies: Squarish dessert Cups Cologne Sample bottles (from Mary Kay) Plastic card from an Electrical sign off a construction site Old plastic sprues from Gundam model. Woodland Scenic Realistic Water. and finally, the top antenna piece: a flow control piece from a faucet.
  14. Pillar of Evil Sculpted by Sandra Garrity The innovative Ub3r sent me this little guy. I decided the base was not good enough. SO I filed it down as best I could then, as you can see, pinned it to a 20mm MDF base. After that I used greenstuff and filled in the gaps. I did leave a large enough gap I could sculpt the greenstuff into a suitable platform. Finally, Primed and washed. I work on this little guy in-between drying periods. I figure I can use him as an interesting marker for wargaming and for all sorts of things in fantasy/sci-fi 25mm gaming. :)
  15. Work In Progress for RBG: CleeseWych the Cuss by Tre Manor This is my miniature for my D&D group. This is my first time snow basing. I think it turned out well but I will be getting better with. :) This would have been done before the long Christmas break but... I got lazy. :P C&C Welcome. Thanks! I was particularly proud of the free hand I did on the shield. I use a nail doter for the circles. Additionally, I enjoyed adding the snow to the clothing. :)
  16. CleeseWych the Cuss by Tre Manor -Human After a swift polish of this figure I Greenstuffed it on the base. I'm very pleased with the way it came out. Next, I have been doing this for a few miniatures now,Combination Priming, and it has helped a lot. In addition to this, I took these 4 photo's with my lamp above to check the lighting and highlights.
  17. Hero Forge: Archetypes 1 & 2 - Paladin & Rogue - Casting Type: Strong Plastic - table quality. I was commissioned to paint these miniature for a D&D 5e game. They are a Dragonborn Paladin and a Gnome Rogue. I am going to tag this thread with another thread that has a WIP of another HF miniatures. My over all review of this thus far is not great. I don't want to bash another company but I am not impressed so far. The miniature absorbs the paint. No joke It takes it into the miniature. The following pictures take about 4 rounds of diluted paint to achieve the color. I saw the video SamuraiJack posted about coating them. But as this is my first try and I didn't pay for them I was not going to attempt them. The likelihood is I may not get the chance as I am unwilling to purchase a "Strong Plastic" Hero Forge miniature to test it out. First coat of Reaper Brown Wash (3:1) to see the details better. It didn't help much; the cast of these didn't have the details show very well at all. Next was a dry brush: From dark grey to a lighter gray. Duel attempt: Bring out detail / add shadowing. It took about 4 layers of diluted paint. I standardly use a 3:1 ratio as I am prone to glazing/washing. Honed Steel, White Leather (which is whiter than the link, fyi), Denim Blue (also lighter than the picture) Forest Green, Intense Brown, I'm also attempting to paint faster too, Trying to get my production time down for table table quality.
  18. Frost Wyrm Sculpted by Kevin Williams I got Auberon for the exchange. I decided to go a different direction for this than the name would suggest, "frost." The "spots" are GW:brown (that I can't remember the name of right now) with upper highlights using Pearl White (a metallic paint) then a a glaze of a Vallejo Orange and a re-highlight of the Pearl white. The eyes are ALL metallic's and the base is from the Michael's Arts and Craft. Wood rounds. I used Reaper Ginger bread paint for the base, washed it and dry brushed it. All in all I think it turned out well. For my first large monster I think it looks good. I hope Auberon likes it.
  19. Work In Progress for RBG: Edele of Aelfheim By Tre Manor This miniature was a commission for my D&D group. I added the flowers as an afterthought but am thoroughly pleased how they came out. I'm getting better with static grass but not where I want to be. Going to do more research. I just had to call it with this piece or I would have never got it done. It turned out well but not as well as I would have liked. I was continuing a new technique I did with a previous miniature. This is the third John (Tre) Manor Sculpt I have painted. I'm fond of his style. Thanks everyone! C&C Welcome! Don't forget to check out my blog - Iron Bristle Studios - for my complete list. The link is in my signature.
  20. Edele of Aelfheim by Tre Manor -Elf After a swift polish of this figure I Greenstuffed it on the base. I'm very pleased with the way it came out. I got to work on this one so quick I didnt get many WIP shots in but I am not finish with her yet. I also got some hair highlights! What do you think? And here is one i with a little more shading!
  21. 03698: Tengu Rogue by Derek Schubert This miniatures was done for the miniature Summer Exchange 2015 for Marineal. I tried a new masking technique with this one and used yellow (instense yellow) to back the bands. Colors in, now time for shading The base are two wood disks of different size bought from Hobby Lobby. I then glued them together and used a hole saw to crave out the spot for the MDF base. Greenstuff and sand. Made the large plant and log by hand.
  22. Work-In-Progress for RBG: Olsvalter the Aged by Tre Manor This miniature was a commission for my D&D group. He is standing on broken ground that is still irradiated by magic. This is the second John (Tre) Manor Sculpt I have painted. I'm fond of his style. C&C welcome
  23. Tengu Rogue: 03698 by Derek Schubert Work-In-Progress for the Tengu Rogue Completed for the 2015 Summer Exchange for Marineal. She requested bright colors. I pushed myself to go bright. Enjoy!
  24. Olsvalter the Aged by Tre Manor -Norse Human I am attempting to do more work with pigment rather than glazing with inks for shading. After reading the discussion about it, I thought it would be a good idea to push myself. The base is custom with spackle, The design is done by me, although you can't see it right now. This photo is not white balanced: It looked really odd when I tried to do it... The display of the colors is accuate though. The light bits are a light shade of GW: Shadow Grey.
  25. Overlords Onyx Phalanx: 14391 Sculpted by Tobb Harris Work In Progress Thread __________________________________________________ The Overlord Onyx Phalanx is done in True Metallic Metal Style. This was my first attempt at flocking. Although it turned out alright I have learned not to use super glue for that process... Thanks for all your support Reaper Community. :) C&C Welcome.
