Base colors done. Need to do the flagstone tiles on their bases and then apply quickshader. Very tired of being such a slow painter.

I have bucket loads of these plastic archers. I painted some of them last year for these monthly challenges. Someday I would like to have a painted unit or two of them. If that is ever going to happen I need a super-fast speed-paint method to get there. This was one such experiment... ...such as it was. I went into it with the idea, "what would I do if these were tiny 10 or 15mm figures"? But do that with these bigger figs. I needed to do something fast before February expired.

I think I have not ever done a WiP thread (on this board), or if I have I don't remember it. This batch of figures are what got worked on for the February Leg of the Resolutionary Paint Challenge but didn't get finished -or- they were just hanging around partly painted of the painting desk. In short: candidates to finish for March. The little witch with the green hands is part of a four piece pack. She is missing the top of her staff (maybe it went in the cauldron). Juliette is not really 3547, she is really the bones version, but there is no 77xxx number for her that I can find. The human archers started off primed white then two of them got an experimental blue mixed from one of the dark blues and Sky Blue. I also experimented with my new yellow paints on two of them, More about the Sky Blue next post.

Three Bowmen and a Bow Lizard These guys have been sitting around primed for years. They got grabbed up on Saturday the 31st for a quick speed paint to qualify for the Resolutionary Painting Challenge. This morning they were all white primer. Here are a pair of pictures: All of these archer models were included in the 5th edition boxed set for Warhammer Fantasy. I probably got these specific models on sale or with an wBay auction. I did not prime them—somebody beat me to it. The little guy is a Skink. The smallest type of lizard in the Lizardmen army. The three identical archers are one of two poses of Bretonnian archers that came with the set. If I had been clever I could have made a list of colors used. Comments and suggestions are in order.

All I managed to do during the Thanksgiving weekend was a roundup of primed figures. It is a bit of a mixed bag: all totaled I found six Reaper figures and a motley assortment of others. A lot of them are GW but I am none too sure about the big brown mud [?] elemental. Not pictured above are one additional plastic archer and a female, metal, swashbuckling figure from Reaper (and that is Bloodmane the Gnoll hiding behind the Mud Man or whatever he is). If anybody knows either: a) what, who or who made the Mud Man? b) whether the Coven Witch (next to the dwarf) has a name? ...please post, I would love to know

So, for Christmas my parents went down my Reaper shopping list and scored one of each of the Anhurian units I had put on there - I had thought I might get one or tw, but all at once? WAHOO! Now I have a small horde of little metal men crying out to be painted and fielded, not to mention 3 Doors Down playing in the back of my head... Here's the first wave, with my already painted Anhurians. Waiting in the wings are an Anhurian elite guard, an Anhurian cavalry, and two swordsmen - I think there were supposed to be four in the blister, though, so I have an e-mail into Reaper about that, and I'll wait on unblistering them until I hear back. I'm torn on doing them all in the "stock" sapphire blue color, ala L2PK1 (and my current Anhurians), and separating them into squads and doing some blue, some red, and maybe some green. I've separated the men-at-arms, crossbowmen, and archers into two units, and done the first half with Reaper brush-on primer. The plan right now is to do the other unit in black gesso.
