  1. This will be yet another Undead /Demon Army. ( what can I say? I love evil miniatures). This army has an Asian theme. Undead Samurai Oni Asian Dragons Some living Asian Allies. Kirin Hope you will enjoy it. I created a background story for it, it is on page 2. Have fun reading! I will paint slowly and it may take a while, but I'm putting this out here to start. Since I backed Zentih's Kensei Undead KS I have a few of the Undead Samurai and Demons waiting I also have the Grenadier Wind Dragon ( alas without the two humans) and the Grenadier Imperial Dragon of the Eleven Celestial Dynasties And some Living Samurai. Also a nice Asian Graveyard Set. Some stuff that has to get painted soon..
  2. Artisan Guild - Oni Grunt 3D Printed on Elegoo Mars. Part of my Asian themed project -Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon WIP https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/
  3. Artisan Guild Gryphkin Infiltrators printed on my Elegoo Mars. Torii gate and lamps from Zenith/Kensei. These are Tengu in my Asian themed project, Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon. WIP: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/page/15/#comments If you need to take care of a "difficult" target, bring out The Three! Two brothers and a sister, specialized in stealth attacks. Blade, bow or magic, whatever it takes, they will succeed!
  4. This is Yuki Onna. One of my first 3D printed models. I kept the colourscheme simple. She's a ghost for my Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon, Project. WIP HERE: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/page/14/#comments She got a base from the Artisan Guild Oni set. I painted her eyes red, not sure if it's visible.
  5. Artisan Guild Oni Beauty, Tsuki. 3D printed on my Elegoo Mars Part of my project: NIPPON, Land of the Rising Moon, WIP: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/page/14/#comments Tried a little freehand on the fan.
  6. Recently @Kangaroorex sent me a Ki'rinn for my Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon Project along with a Asian Dragon, a Chibi Dragon and some candy. I already had one of these Ki'Rinn and decided to paint them in two different versions, brother/sister? Evil/Good? You decide. WIP Here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/& Anyway, as with the Asian Dragon I wanted to show their unnatural appearance by combining normal paint with metallic highlights. So here they are. Hope you like them.
  7. This is Hasslefree's HFA148 "Taylor", sculpted by Kev White. She has some wonderful, dynamic shapes from different angles. In the catalogue she's painted up blonde, but after I primed her I took a look at her face and thought she looked more Cambodian to me. So she's a modern Southeast Asian apocalypse survivor, or at least a young lady with a lot of attitude. There isn't a WIP thread but I would be glad to answer any questions or take comments.
  8. This is an old Ral Partha Shadowrun figure, now sold by Ironwind Metals as part of the set 20-568, Male and Female Bodyguards. We're using her for a Vampire: The Masquerade character. I liked her Old School late 20th century futurism look. There is very little actual black on her. Most of that is lots of other colors, mixed. There is no WIP thread, but questions and comments are welcome.
  9. Here are three more Samurai Zombies from Clan Wars, I got them from @Jasper_the_2nd They are very nice sculpts and I had a lot of fun with these. WIP is here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/ The Undead Samurai slowly advanced, nothing could stop them, arrows just got stuck in their flesh or armor and they kept going. Another volley, nothing stopped them! The now undead Toda Clan sought revenge to those who had wronged them. They kept coming, determined to slaughter their enemies.
  10. Another Clan Wars mini I got from @Jasper_the_2nd for my Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon project. This time an ONI OGRE. WIP HERE: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/ When asked for their allegiance the Oni joined forces with the murdered Toda Clan and the last survivors. Due to the family ties they swore to annihilate the Kenmu Clan for their foul deeds. In battle these Oni terrified the enemy, larger than men and wielding huge weapons they cut their way through the Kenmu ranks.
  11. This is a Clanwars mini provided by @Jasper_the_2nd in my project he is Master Nurin. WIP and story here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/&page=2 I tried a little freehand. Two sets of pics in different light. Which ones are the best? Master Nurin watched how the undead samurai burned down the Kenmu town. Yoshigaru would be pleased, this was only the beginning. His wrath for murdering the Toda Clan would be merciless.
  12. From the Kensei Undead KS. A Kubikajiri Demoness enjoying her dinner.. She is part of my Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon project. WIP http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/&page=2
  13. I really need to figure out how to attach parts with little surface area better. Those wrists are so delicate and I am sure difficult to game with without breaking.
  14. CrazyK

    Gaki

Was asked to paint this up for a friend who loves Japanese stuff and is planning on running a game based around Asian stuff. Not sure of the company, they just handed me the mini. The base I had was a teeny bit smaller then the actual mini. So I moved the limbs a bit to make it look like it is creeping off the base. Actually really like the effect. Kind of wish it was my mini to keep.
  15. 1st off, this guy is difficult to find key words for when looking him up in Reapers miniatures sale pages. Dragon Warrior doesn't pull him up, neither does dragonkin, half dragon or lizard warrior ( most of which pull up a lot of models in the same class.) If the sales are low, it may be because he is hard to know he exists. Originally he was going to be a good D&D dragon, most likely gold. Then coincidentally a friend wanted a bunch of bad half dragons for a campaign and I mentioned I had just picked this one up. He wanted each a different color and this one was going to be either white or blue. White was tough and the sculpt made it even tougher. I really had to jam the paintbrush in a lot of crevasses and create a few painted up scales that I felt were missing. In the end I am proud of this one. White is tough and he was the first small model I have painted since knocking out a couple of very large balefire gates for a friends GW table. This site has a new look since I have last been on. I will have to look around if I have the time today.
  16. Another mini painted for my friend's Rising Sun Campaign. A totally tubular surfer dude, just missing his board.
  17. This and another Bushido mini on deck for a friend. He had a bit of space on his cloak and I wanted to experiment with some simple freehand. For some reason I felt/saw wind when I looked at him and tried to paint something that represented that. Took me a long time to paint due to being in several pieces. Makes me appreciate minis that are all one piece even more. Had fun with a shot with the dragon hatchlings I just painted. :) I also got a fancy new camera for my birthday. A bit of a learning curve, but I like the new pics. Finally happy with the results.
  18. Nr. 2 of the Working girls. I tried an Asian Skintone. She has a cigarette in her hand, bound to drop it, she might have to get in all Kung Fu stereotype and kick the biker's elf. The Diorama is over the top and meant to be full of stereotypes , it's a tribute to my favorite musician. Lemmy.. WIP http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/66545-street-violence-by-xherman1964/ DIORAMA http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69093-angel-city-diorama-by-xherman1964-tribute-to-lemmy/?p=1378316 Here is girl nr. 2
  19. This is Hasslefree's HFC002 "Mineko". I am not satisfied with how she came out. I was trying to do something way too ambitious with her clothes and they got kind of out of control. She is a part of my clearing out of my Shelf of Shame, "Pingo's Conga Line of Half-Finished Minis". Sometimes you just need to get things finished and on the gaming table.
  20. Hi ! This is one of my last work (no reaper, sorry ... In France, the Reaper Minis have bad diffusion/distribution) :
  21. Hey all, decided to steal Pixel's idea of a WIP for a campaign (even though right now her's is just for NPCs) as I wanted to keep this separate from my normal WIP to keep things easier to follow. My normal WIP thread will be things that will be more time consuming and trying to be at a higher quality then what will generally be here (though that doesn't mean I won't paint up something's nice here) as well as have a place to discuss what's going on in my game and the scenery and such I throw together without distracting from my general WIP thread. You can follow my normal WIP thread here. So, as I have mentioned elsewhere I've had to split my gaming group in two as a player got a new job that prevented him from playing in the regular group. This tends to happen from time to time as the total number of groups I'm in waxes and wanes through the years--and it's partly why I've had many of the same people in my group for 14 years while still being able to add new people or old members back in. While I'm not particularly fond of doing so my group wants to do 5th edition as we'll have some review copies showing up soon and since my other group is non-D&D (it's 1930's pulp via HEX) I can live with a D&D group--especially considering I won't run games that take longer then about 12-14 months to play out so we can switch (It's my condition for being the GM) and try new things and not get bored of the same old stuff. Several people wanted to do Asian themed so that also got me to be willing to play D&D if they wanted Asian fantasy--finally I can actually use all this kickstarter stuff I've got that matches this. I've picked up the Jade Regent adventure path from Paizo to use as my base line but I really modify stuff so this isn't going to be 100% by the book (more 60% or so) and I was happy to see the first part dealt with firework stealing and using goblins as I actually have Asian goblins using fireworks as weapons (imagine that--never thought I'd get to use them). But first off a few changes I'm already making to the story (I'll try and flag spoilers to the actual story as written so people don't have to worry about that): 1) Everyone is already starting in an Asian world (either L5R, Forgotten Realms Asian area--which use to be L5R, or from the Bushido wargame) 2) People will be part of a traveling caravan from the start and not tied to a city (this may change, but I wanted a reason for the caravan but I'll need to read more the book 1 to decide this). All right, onto the first set of minis: Quite a while ago I backed an Asian goblin fantasy football team from Greebo. The sculpts are mostly average, with a few really cool ones, but they fit my need for Asian goblins (which isn't that common and the Rackham ones can be hard to find--but I have most of those). I'm glad I did but I probably wouldn't back it now days as I have a much stricter KS budget as opposed to when I was single. The reason I'm glad I backed it is because now I'll use them and I think this is my first non-bones KS minis I've started to paint (only finished one bones last summer). First off I've not really done much with traditional goblin skin tones in about 2 years so I've decided to see how they play out by experimenting some. Going to do 2 green and 2 tangerine-ish gobbers and see how it goes. At first I was going to try two different greens completely but gave that up as I need to get these done in a reasonable time so here's what I got: firework goblins These guys are in the awesome sculpt category from Greebo. Pretty well detailed and cast with only a few minor issues that I've seen in others (like Wyrd) around toes and such. I added a flame to their torches via a pin and Woodland Scenes Water Effect (the paste). They're based with Reaper Pale Lichen and the other Reaper Highland Moss but I gave up on the Higland Moss. Shaded down with P3 flesh wash, as it looks great against a desaturated green, and highlighted up to Reaper Fair Skin Highlight. I really like to shade and highlight greens as if they were Caucasian flesh as all the colors work great with green (reds and off whites) and I think it shows. I then used a glaze of Scale Color Sky Blue to add some color to the face and fingers\toes--though it's a bit washed out in these photos. I did this for two reasons: 1) I like it when people mix extra color into faces like that 2) the blue draws out the face Here's a close up of one Here's both to show you the full mini I've got some more photos and WIP for the others but I'm tired and need to go to bed. I'll post more tomorrow. But feel free here to discuss painting and the game as I talk about it as I'm always open to ideas on both.
  22. My Xiufang (Chronoscope 50260) won a silver medal in the painters category in this years ReaperCon, Yay! That yellow squiggly thing on her dress is supposed to be an asian dragon
