Saw this figure in my LGS a while back, decided to buy it, and now I'm using it as my new DnD character. He was quite intriguing to paint. I really enjoyed this one. I used Citadel paints for it. I also gave it a spray undercoat first, I do with all minis even ones that are already primed, too much of a habit now.

I am running a D&D game with my friends using the new Ravnica setting. The world has a very unique look, and one of the player characters in our group is an steampunk/elephant-man/mad-scientist. I couldn't find any miniatures remotely resembling that, so I made my own out of a reaper Avatar of Strength and some warmachines loose pieces I got on ebay for cheap. I have never done any kitbashing or sculpting before (just made it up as I went along) but I feel it turned out pretty cool (even though I am pretty lousy painter). Couldn't wait to show it off a little here, even though the lighting is really bad in here at night for pictures. Painted with all the cheap Reaper HD I picked-up during the sale. Question, comments, feed-back appreciated.

My 2 year old is currently fascinated with hippos so that inspired me to pull this one out of the mountain of Bones and paint him. Perhaps I should add some gloss, but I need the brush on kind.

I want to post this as an apology for changing my Avatar again. Too many people were having issues thinking I was Froggy when I had the Chaos Toad head, so I am switching to my new Basilisk instead. I hope this doesn't cause too much confusion.

When our Ms. Boot arrived at ReaperCon, she was greeted by a little birthday present from me, delivered to ReaperCon by none other than Dilvish... the Deliverer, lol... I found this little plastic toy (the top of its head is about the same height as the top of Sir Forscale's helmet) at the Goodwill Store and It immediately reminded me of a certain someone's forum avatar. At the time, it was white with black spots and yellow eyes, but I knew I had to pick it up and throw some paint on it at some point for her. Fast-forward a couple weeks to me seeing the Happy Birthday, OneBoot! thread and going "Oh, <bleep>!"... Then I realized that not only was it just recently her birthday, but that she was going to be at ReaperCon a few days later and I could have her birthday present handed to her directly... So I slapped paint on this as fast as I could (thus the "Made In Taiwan"-level paint-job, lol) over the course of about five hours or so (there is a lot of fur and I vowed not to just drybrush it) and dropped it off at Dilvish's doorstep the night before he left for the con. Now that she's seen it, I can post the handful of crappy pics I quickly snapped just before I packed it up and ran like hell for the door to drop it off. So... The Many Moods of OneBoot:

Besides that ( an awesome gift already) he sent me a painted version of my avatar. Many thanks Paul! I love it. It has a special place in my display cabinet ( next to George's @knarthex who had sent me a little wolf painted in the colours of my avatar a while ago) Thanks! I wanted to show it to the Forum, it deserves a Show Off.

Did most of this one at the local game shop on Thursday, then finished the details at home. She will be standing in as a Herald of Slaanesh, for my Age of Sigmar: Skirmish Warband.:

Been working on this off and on over the last few weeks. Finally calling done. After Christmas, I reorganized my storage boxes and found this guy mixed in with some extra bits. Said Grenadier on the bottom, but it took a but to track down the model name. I've been hauling him around for the better part of 3 decades and decided it was time to give it some paint. I was inspired by the banshee from Avatar.

Warning, contains spoilers for the Pathfinder Adventure Path "Serpent's Skull". The Serpent's Skull campaign that I'm GMing is almost finished, and I wanted to put together something special for the final boss. I haven't been able to find any minis that came even close to representing this thing, so I decided to try to create my own 'mini' for the final boss out of green stuff. A lot of green stuff. I have made modifications to small miniatures with green stuff before, but I have never tried to sculpt something on my own before I made this thing. I expected it to come out horribly. I did make several mistakes : it is a bit too large, I should have done the pose differently, and the surface isn't very even. However, I'm actually rather pleased with the results. For reference, here is a picture of what the Avatar is supposed to look like. Yea, I didn't even try to do the scales detail aside from the belly scales. I created it by first making a wire armature and putting some ProCreate putty around it to form the basic shape. From there, I put green stuff on top of the ProCreate to get the details. The colors of the green stuff are a bit mismatched because I use some Citidel green stuff and some Reaper green stuff mixed with milliput. I think I will be using mostly the latter combination for future sculpts. Finally, I put a layer of CA glue on the surface of the thing to smooth it out a bit and help hold it together. I would show you guys pictures of the earlier stages, but I took those pictures with a cell phone camera and they look really blurry... The base I'm using is a 60mm round 'Desecrated Lands Set Two' base from dragonforge designs. It is sized for Huge creatures. I'm currently priming the 'miniature', and hopefully I'll have the whole thing done in one or two weeks.
