What are heroes without villains to oppose them? Less exciting, that's what! So here is Crosswire, an incredibly jacked brute powered by canisters of some sinister Brute Juice! He doesn't map directly on to any character I know, but combines elements of Bane, Mr. Hyde, some members of the Wrecking Crew, the Rhino, and (due to Drug Powers) maybe the bad robocop from Robocop 2. I tried to get some minor OSL coming off the Brute Juice canisters and drybrush his many bulgy veins Alien Goo green. He's a very big fellow, in the same weight class as the Clay Golem. But what we all came here for is of course some wreckage and mayhem!

The new trailer for Captain America: Civil War was just released. Picks up at the 2nd post credit scene from Ant Man. Black Panther sighting! Looks like Tony gets his butt handed to him. So far, not seeing the superhero registration part of Civil War. Although there is mention of the Sokovia Accords: Framework for the Registration and Deployment of Enhanced Individuals. So it's not the unmasking bit. Seems more like it's everyone trying to hunt down Bucky and Cap being the guy he is standing by his best friend and refusing to back down. SO CAN'T WAIT FOR MAY!!!

For my birthday my husband gave me a collection of classic British TV homage characters from Crooked Dice. On the site this figure is called "Pandora King" and is painted up as a blonde in a grey and vivid red outfit, but when you look at her lines she is pretty clearly supposed to be Diana Rigg in this outfit as Emma Peel from the old show "The Avengers". I was so enthused about painting her that I got her well started before I took pictures. I primed her white and washed her with Burnt Umber, then did her skin in complex mixes of Titanium White, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, and Red Oxide. I haven't painted her eyes yet. I also rinsed her hair and outfit over with pure Carbon Black. It's not quite as monochrome as it looks in the photos.

To go with my superhero project, I decided I was going to sculpt my own Captain America. My blog has my rambling reasons, but basically I wanted an up-armoured more modern version. Yes there is a nice model by Knight Miniatures, but it is more in line with the classic comic version. Anyhow, to save some effort on sculpting muscles, I started from a non-heroic dolly. I have pics of how I reshaped mine and also Deano (a Hasslefree Miniature, 28mm figure) for scale. I have put these in since I had no comparison of the dollies to go by, I am sure somebody would enjoy this. From the bare metal stage, I do have to fix some gouges I made when my padding slipped and I still need to file down a lot of metal from the soles of the feet.

Just got back from it a little while ago. Really liked it. The shrinking/regrowing while fighting made the action a little hard to make out at times. While not Marvels best outing by far, it was still a thoroughly enjoyable movie. (And let's be honest, that bar is set pretty dang high at this point.) What did everybody else think?

One of my long time favorite shows was The Avengers. The adventures and misadventures of John Steed and Emma Peel. Classic wit, daring escapades, and a strong female lead who was more than just a pretty face. RIP Mr. Steed. You're in good company.

Avengers 2 Can I assume we've all seen this by now? Can I assume we are all going to go see this now? Also, Pinocchio reference.
