Frost Giant Bodyguard with 2 handed axe

This is one of the giants that I've painted that I'm the most proud of!

    77233, Kegg, Bugbear Hunter

Hi all. I may have finished this guy in record time. I am trying this new thing where when I want to stop and get up from my desk... I don't . This is a bugbear that I just primed with a couple others even though I didn't really have any strong feelings about him. But as I started working on him I started to get more excited, which is something that's been happening to me more now. I just start a mini to get more stuff painted and end up liking the job. I have started to put more effort into highlighting because I got a nudge here on the forums and I am so glad I did. I really like the work I did on his armour, bringing the scales up to a brighter orange and ticking the edges with silver to make it look like the orange was paint wearing off. In person he really glitters with that silver, something that didn't quite come across in the picture. I like the highlighting I did with his skin and loincloth and also the silver rivets on the arm and shin guards. I hope you all like him too!

    Axe Cultist by Harwood Hobbies

Keith is very happy that he joined the Cult of the Obsidian Otter. He's met lots of like-minded people, he's getting plenty of fresh air and all that axe-swinging is building his upper body strength. And the fact he can't get She Sells Sanctuary out of his head is just a bonus.

    The Fighter

Presenting The Fighter (Echoes of Death version), she's a Kingdom Death: Monster re-imagining of their existing The Fighter mini, who, in turn, was Kingdom Deaths take on a generic fighter class character. Quite pleased with this one. She took a while as I kept finding bits I'd missed hiding under her hair, and I rushed her shield in the end (it needs at least one more highlight, but my hands have been really shaky recently and I didn't want to mess it up) so I may put a bit more work in at a later date. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

    10-512, Orc 1

Good day everyone, here is a classic Orc model from Ral Partha I painted some time ago. It's a 25mm tall metal "lead" model sculpted by Jeff Wilhelm and was part of TSR D&D 10-512 Monsters Boxed Set produced in 1992.
  7. Started working on the Echoes of Death set. I have the whole set, but I also have an appalling track record when it comes to actually finishing my Kingdom Death figures, so I'm just building and painting them one at a time. Starting with the Fighter (who's gigantic):- So far, I've made a start on her skin:- It's a basecoat of 1:1 Elf Skin/Rosy Skin with a Flesh Shade Wash. I stopped here and took a piccy so I could get some idea of where her eyes are, I think buying some sort of magnifier is in my future.

    77064: Kavorgh, Orc Warboss

    77469 Brand Oathblood WIP

Ok I don't do that many WIPs but I thought I'd try on this one. This is so far a base coat and 6 layers of shading. I like to use glazes so the build up is very gradual and I have to remember that everytime I start a mini lol. I will put down about 10 more layers going down all the way to a deep purple. This is at the pure tanned skin shadow phase. It will be slow going due to work but I will keep up with it. Comments and criticism welcome and before it gets mentioned I removed no mold lines this is more of a proof of concept to see if I can finish a wip post and how my skin painting is coming along. Thanks!

    Frost Giant 77544

Almost done... Just the snow and some painting details... Really liked the model, and is 1 of the main reasons I backed bones 3...the posture was tough, I liked that a lot. One of my first serious attempt of NMM, very happy with it. Unfortunately Tha backside if the axe is better than the front.... A well... Hope u like. Edit: icicles are from train-model building sets. Translucent plastic, and I sprayed a bit of white on the base of the icicle.

    Millstone

Presenting Millstone a member of the Farmers Guild from the game Guild Ball and part of my Old Fathers Harvest WIP thread. I'm not too happy with her face (not that she had much of one to start with), but I think the rest turned out pretty good. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

An ax grinder, a pile driver

Knocked out my first Dark Sword figure as a commission for a friend. It's also my first try at sketch style.
  16. Hello guys and gals, here's a new figure I just finished, a Ral Partha figure from the eighties, a female warrior, kind of a bit barbaric, with axe and shield. As Always, deciding just simple things like colors were kind of more time consuming than they should have been. I did her hair black because I'd seen the same model very nicely painted and done blonde and didn't want to copy. This was sculpted by the great Julie Guthrie, sculpting goddess. Also had no idea what color the shield should have been so eventually and randomly chose green! Anyhoos, enjoy!

    77074: Dain Deepaxe (Bones)

This is the bones casting. I wish I had gotten the metal version once I started painting this as it seems some details were lost, especially in the face, and I found it more difficult to paint.

    14418: Bloodstone Gnome Scragger

It has been a while, but I am back with another mini from Reaper. This time its a Blood Stone Gnome, which I tried to paint up as a goblin. Hope you all like it. Any C&c is welcomed.
  20. Good evening all, so just finished this one, another really fun and adventurous Dwarf sculpted by Jim Johnson back in 2002-2003. Another piece from the Hackmaster line from Kenzer and Company, but was acquired by Ral Partha and now being cast by them. Hopefully dwarfy enough colors, started out with his skin as tanned highlights and gave him some nice black hair. I thought about doing something with the runes on his axe but then just figured I'd leave them as metal. Enjoy!

Painted a lot since I last came here. Here is one I did for a player

    14536: Varaug, Orc Warlord

I'm playing a half-orc warpriest in a Pathfinder game who uses a huge ol' axe. I figured this would be a pretty good mini for him. Base was made with GW Agrellan earth with some Vallejo pigments on it to give it some better color. I used rattlesnake leather as his base skin color, with a wash of dark elf shadow and highlighted with green ochre. I went with red hair, because why not? Reaper red hair triad.
  23. I'm a noob (about 5-6 weeks of painting) but am happy with this guy and his rusty armor! Would love some C & C from anyone though!

    Ventar - Champion of Chaos

Once a mere gladiator, Ventars brutality in the arena attracted the attentions of the Dark Gods. Remade into one of their champions, he now travels from battlefield to battlefield seeking out those that can provide him with an entertaining fight. Presenting Ventar, an Exalted Deathbringer with Ruinous Axe from GamesWorkshops Age of Sigmar range. This one was a bit of a challenge as non-human skin tones are outside of my comfort zone, but I don't think I did too badly. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  25. Little is known of Father Mordicais past, before he pledged his allegiance to the God of Plagues, but the speed at which he and his Chalice Of Filth warband have gained notoriety amongst the multitudes that battle for the attentions of the Dark Gods make him someone to be feared and respected. Presenting Father Mordicai - The Lord of Corruption, he is the leader of one half of Games Workshops latest Warhammer 40K starter set. Not completely happy with this one. Made a mess basing him, there's sand all clumped up around his feet. I also couldn't get his arms to attach properly (they dry-fitted perfectly at the start, so I'm not sure what changed), leaving a sizeable gap around his shoulders. At least I didn't do too terrible of a job painting him. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
