  1. Hello everyone, here is the third of the quartet, the 77456, Ogre Guard sculpted by Bobby Jackson. Have a good week. 77454, Ogre Clubber, 77456, Ogre Guard and 77455, Ogre Smasher.
  2. Hello everyone, I'm currently working on an Ogre gang and completed the painting on this model last night. This is a 77455, Ogre Smasher sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I swapped the top of its club with that of the 77454, Ogre Clubber. I also added three more skulls at his waist belt. it was all painted with Reaper MSP paint. I will complete the base later since I may add more elements to it.
  3. Just a random assortment of the first painted from Bones V. I sort of cheated...my Kickstarter arrived yesterday but I borrowed these in advance from a friend who got theirs earlier. The Three-Headed Troll: The Zombie Giant: The Cloud Giant: The Cyclops: The Battleguard Golems:
  4. Finally got around to painting some Bones sci-fi... painting the flat panel armor was a new thing for me. Used a mix of Reaper, Vallejo, and Contrast Paint, and some washes here and there..
  5. after doing the bugbears I figured why not try something a little bigger, how about some ogre's, unfortunately most of the ogre's were sold out in the reaper store and ended up getting this piece which at the time didn't know I already had.
  6. Well, I'm finally doing it. I'm going to start painting Ma'al. I think I've gotten enough figured out with Mini Ma'al that I can start. At the very least I'm going to start prepping him for painting...that might take a while. Blue liner and mold line removal are first! Not going to boil him because I can live with the slight bend in the wing(maybe, we'll see how I feel before I liner that wing.) Probably won't post more pictures until after I've linered him.
  7. A dumpster. I started painting it as part of Aaron Lovejoy's blending class. Then had a ton of fun weathering it.
  8. Bad photos, bad Bones cast, and tabletop paint job of Balto Burrowell the Gnome Wizard. Painted this one up as my sons kid character in hero kids. Fuego is a young kid who can cast some fire spells and has survived three adventures and he was on his own in the last one. I am really beginning to loath these older human sized minis, but this is the closest I had to a human child for his character. Fairly simple base coat, washes, and highlights. I was having a lot of problems with my skin tone paints being too thin (even after several minutes on the vortex mixer). I guess
  9. Now that I've finished the Frost Giants I'm moving onto something a bit warmer, Fire Giants. Currently I've boiled, primed, and base coated skin on all 5. Several will probably need an additional skin coat but so far so good. Pictures in spoiler.
  10. I decided to do the Mystic Circle so I could do all kinds of occult and folk horror scenarios. Currently "cooking" in the utility sink. The base parts were pretty warped. I may glue them to some foamcore for a little extra stability, but mostly traced, because I need to keep them " modular" for storage (the arches, I think they still qualify as dolmens, but I forget, will get pulled on and off. Unless it really doesn't work ). This will likely be an all June project, because I had an unexpected computer death and porch reno and need to deal with that.
  11. This one has been on the desk for a long time. I really like the sculpt, but the cast is a pain as I find most of the older human sized Bones models. The Face was atrocious. Luckily he has a big hat. The photos are washed out but give a good idea of how he looks. He is too shiny for my tastes as the newer Testors Dullcote doesn’t seem to work as good as it used to. Unsure how I ended up going from a coal black duster to green, other than I had too much green paint out for the Marines I was trying to get off the shelf of shame. One down and thousands to go! 😀
  12. My waste paint receptacle for my ogre squad. Nothing special or exciting but he's done too. probably his best side here. This side no so much. I don't know think he translated into bones as well as some of the others like the ogres. But then, he's just a mook so who cares. Oops! Looks like I hurt his feelings. He'll feel better when he's amongst his metal brethren. He has a much better base than they do.
  13. So here they are. The Ogre Squad. You can see the WIP here. I love how nonchalant and casual this guy looks. especially when compared to this guy. The oldest of my ogres. Metal and unfinished for years because I was just never happy with him. another angry ogre fond of the face(s) on this guy and also the pig. The rope on the barrel was a little frustrating though. It had a mold line right down its length and even though I wasn't doing much line cleaning for these guys that was both a hard one to fix and a hard one to
  14. Raiding party member.
  15. and the last of the bugbear raiding party I did.
  16. and now for his raiding party
  17. Previews for Reaper's June releases just went up in the "Previews" section, and they're from the Bones 5 Kickstarter. Granted, there's still April and May unaccounted for, but there are a number of large models from the Bones 4 Kickstarter that haven't been released at retail yet. We already know they're suggesting that the Stygian Barge may never be released, but I'm hoping most of the rest will be. By my count, all of these haven't hit the game stores yet: Narglauth Dragon Turtle Agramon, Duke of Hell Blacksting Wyvern All of the Fantasy Scenics Thunde
  18. I don't do WIP's very often and I'm well into a couple of these guys. But I added a couple more as I started to base the first few so I figured I might as well. Maybe it will help me keep my focus. We have the 3 bones ogres from a kickstarter or two ago, the bones black preview ogre, metal Kagunk 2, and the bones 4 ettin. I may decide to add metal ogre chieftain (aka kagunk 1) as well as he is half finied on the shelf anyway, and metal Norr'Okk, if I can ever figure out what to do about his head. Also considering ordering the newer ogre chieftain, but we will see.
  19. This is my most ambitious attempt to date. A mini-campaign I’m running some people through calls for many kobolds of varying colors and classes. I had 12 Kobolds from Bones I, the 4 pack in metal that those were based off of (03064), the metal Leader and Sorcerer (03024), the 12 awesome new kobolds from Bones 4, and a 7 pack (I may have gotten a freebie, I thought I bought a six pack) of kobolds from the Ral Partha TSR Official D&D 2nd Edition line, stamped 1989. That’s a whopping 37 figures. I want to paint tribes from all 5 chromatic factions, and want to have as few duplicate poses
  20. Some quick paints for the table. The pirate is a good demonstration of why I don't try sculpting - in addition he had a lot of casting problems in his legs and feet, so.... he will do but I kind of cringe. The shroud was a very quick paint - I cut the hands off, because it seemed more creepy that way
  21. More from May - the cultist pair 77518. I also added in my other recently painted pair (77351) with cirlce and I think they make a nice grouping.
  22. My first time painting a chibi figure. Probably not the last. Painting this made me feel happy.
  23. My 3 year old had been exploring my basement paintbstation and fallen in love with the "elephant. " Yesterday I glued and primed it for painting. About 60% got covered in rainbow splotches of craft paint before child abandoned the project to play with recently varnished terrain. I smoothed out all the blobs of paint to vaguely cover everything in a greenish/pinkish/brownish grey. We may paint more, or else I'll paint some eyes and seal it.
  24. All four Reaper Bones Stone Giants, but with some modifications: Replaced the club wielded by the guard with the one from the smaller, older giant Gave that giant a home-made hammer and a rock to throw. For colours I chose a base of old Citadel Adeptus Battlegrey, brightened with white for highlights. The cloth colours are all greyish hues rather than natural stone colours because I thought that might be too dull. Very happy with the purple cloth, which is done with the Reaper Dark Elf Skin triad. I tried to do decorations in bluish green jade (though if you think it's mo
