    Coral Golem

Turned out OK. I have a tuff time doing Bright colors that don't turn out dirty. I don't know if it's the wash (well I am pretty sure that the wash is a contributing factor) or what. Any ideas as to wash bright colors without getting this effect? Had to post this one as it is another great example of Puff running for his life again. Also now that I look at this I think I am going to add a brown wash to the stones to tone them down a bit. These aquarium stones are just to bright for me.
  2. I thought I'd try to keep a work in progress of the process I'm making in Bones 3. I got distracted/bored during the Death Guard painting, and went back to some of the bones. "Heeey you guuuys!" The Fomorian just called to me. He felt left out when I painted the other Giants, I guess.
  3. Howdy, Several from the bones 3 graveyard expansion... I don't do much basing, but I tried a little flocking, Kev!

    Carrion Worm

Work has kept me very busy (I'm a first year teacher), so I haven't had much time to paint. I did slap some paint on this guy though.
  5. Finished the last mini in the Bones 3 Ogre Command set. Here is the Ogre Chieftain. He doesn't have a squire to polish his armor and the goblins use spit and their loincloths so....his armor isn't in the best of shape. The shield on the back probably needs some battle damage but I hated to mess it up after I spent so much time getting it to look nice! Maybe he "found" it. So here are pictures of the Ogre Chieftain and a group shot at the end. (I need a large photo background!) I added a tutorial on how to do the rust effect.
  6. Sometimes I come across a mini I just adore the concept of. This is a golem or contruct made out of gravestones, broken bits of mausoleums, bone fragments and skulls and with Nightmare before Christmas -style cast iron gates for wings! A useful construct for when Necromancy does not make hard enough minions! From the Bones 3 Graveyard Expansion, here is the Graveyard Golem. Or whatever it's official name will be when they release it into the wild some time in the future. Cemetary Golem from the Bones 3 Kickstarter, Graveyard Expansion. 7. Not sure what this one is called either but it was supper easy to paint. I like doing armor...it's easy to get nice results.
  8. I've tried to take the advice from my previous posts and apply them to this one. As always C&C welcome. Rather liked how this one turned out in the end for the most part. I realize bears don't have human eyes but I thought since this was a "were" then it should still have more human eyes. However I used Linen White, but against the dark fur it seems too bright.
  9. Greetings! I don't seem to have as much time to paint miniatures as usual at the moment but I have been working on this beastie here & there lately. I really like this sculpt & I couldn't resist painting it purple. I did have a bit of a nightmare trying to paint the areas between the base of the worm & the (worm)hole so, if I was to paint another one, I would definately paint the parts up separately & glue them afterwards. Thanks for looking!
  10. Greetings Folks! Just a quick tabletop quality paintjob of Galadanoth, Elf Sniper from the Bones 3 Kickstarter - complete with wonky eyes...... Thanks for looking!
  11. Greetings folks! Sssssssssssss, tabletop quality paintjob of the Giant Cobra from the Bonesssssssssss 3 Kickssssssstarter! Thanks for looking!
  12. This past week I completed the last of the four hero figures from the Bones 3 Kickstarter Wild West Wizard of Oz set: the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Lion, and Dorothy & Toto. (Still have the Wicked Witch and the Flying Monkey to do) This was a really fun set to do, and it had some interesting interpretations of the classic characters. Also, I was lucky enough to get a chance to already use them as my gang in a post-apocalyptic game of "This is Not a Test". For the full painting articles and more photos, please see my Bones painting blog linked in my signature.
  13. This is a pair of terrain pieces that appeared in the Bones 3 pledge manager as was as far as I remember not actually a part of the Bones 3 KS campaign. Naturally, as it was called "Statue of Dagon" I had to have it. I kept the painting simple, as I want to use this as a scatter terrain piece. The main piece is 11cm tall. I forgot to put a mini in for scale again. Sorry about that. Statue of Dagon (as of yet it does not have a code number) Reaper Miniatures Bones 3 KS Unknown sculptor, it is not in the webstore yet. Bonesium PVC
  14. The first miniature I have painted after opening Bones 3 box that arrived one week ago. Also, my first reaper miniature I would like to share. I must admit that I made a very poor job on the mould lines though and the paint job isn't as neat as I would like to... More pictures: http://zgielk.blogspot.com/2017/08/na-bezrybiu-i-smok-ryba.html
  15. These are the little standard bearers from Bones 3 Ogre Command set. I had considered adding bloody little handprints to the banner and then backed off because I wasn't sure. I think it turned out pretty well and I am really happy with their eyes! So here they are and a photo of them with the drummers because in my list 77567 says Goblin Standard Bearers and Musicians so I am guessing they are a set! C&C welcome!
  16. I recently finished the Dagon Statue terrain pieces from Bones 3. Nothing fancy, but a series of drybrushed layers. Step by step can be found here: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2017/08/dagon-statue-bones-3-terrain.html
  17. Knocked these out last night. Was a nice quick speed paint so I could get to doing the cultists. Needed something for them to stand around on the shelf. Used Dwarven Gold on the writing and the pics don't show that lovely peachy gold lustre from the paint.
  18. A bunch of you enjoyed my recent thread in the Conversions sub-forum in which I did some conversions on my Shipwreck Revenant from Bones 3, (To see that thread, click here: Shipwreck Revenant Conversion.), so I thought I'd do a thread to track my painting progress as well. To sum up that thread; basically, I replaced the "face" part of the Revenant with a figurehead using the Succubus Queen (Sophie's Mom) figure from the Bones 3 Stoneskull Expansion. I also replaced the Tiki Head on the back with a section of mast and a ship's wheel, as well as reinforcing the harpoon arm so it wouldn't warp under it's own weight, and a few other small additions. Here's a shot from about halfway though the work... So early this morning I gave all the parts a primer coat with Krylon with Fusion "Flat Black". Then, this afternoon when it was dry, I gave the parts an initial dry brush coat of Americana "Charcoal Grey" Followed with a dry brush coat of Americana "Mississippi Mud". And finished the base coat dry brushing with a final coat of Americana "Barn Wood". I'm now debating if I want to glue the whole thing together before moving on to the rest of the painting, or continue working on each part individually.
  19. These are the goblin musicians from Bones 3. They are still a little shiny because it has been raining like mad here so they have not had their spritz of Dulcote. They have tiny little eyes but they were so fun to paint. I made the little stool goblin be rolling his eyes upwards. He hates his job. The drum carrier is pouting. You know how when you get a song stuck in your head? So does he! He also hates his job. The drummer LOVES his job and gleefully bangs on his drum all day! C&C welcome
  20. Howdy, A couple from the bones 3 core set... Kev!
  21. Finally finished the other frost giant and the queen. Very what I call "busy" sculptures to paint. Lots of detail takes more and more time. Just have the Jarl left! Couldn't wait to have fun and set them up. The scale of the new Giants are great!!! The sculpts are just as amazing! Kudos to reaper!!! Hope to see new version of Fire Giants!
  22. I'm not sure about skus, so I'll update tags later. I had a rough day and powered through a lot,so later you get pics without much process. Here are untouched and primed pics.
  23. While they're not perfect, they're as good as they're going to get due to mistakes made at the start. So the sons of Rodent Dorn, specialists in creating unassailable mouse holes.
  24. It's been awhile since I've painted anything in general, much less a human-sized mini. I also tried giving her lipstick. It isn't great, but not terrible for a first attempt. Just doing something at tabletop quality anyway (or it is for me).
  25. So I have been watching everyone's unboxing videos of their Kickstarter 3 stuff (i'll prolly do one of my core set when it comes in, off Ebay unfortunately but still super excited), and I have heard the hot irons (number 156 in the torture chamber series) twice now being called a Root Beer Float. I found this extremely amusing:)
